This municipality brings together a large number of elements of interest, to such an extent that it has become one of the most important tourist centers on the Costa del Sol.

Its scenic beauty ranges from the spectacular mountains, to the sea, with stupendous beaches, through the fertility of its orchards, which turn this area into a veritable orchard.

In addition to this, Nerja has unforgettable places such as the Cueva de Nerja, one of the most beautiful and most visited in Spain, of great archaeological value; the cliffs of Maro, declared a Natural Site; and, within the city, the Balcón de Europa or the Church of El Salvador.

History
Its current name comes from the Arabic Narija or Naricha, and is in turn a derivation of a Roman term. There are various remains from Roman times, such as a section of the old road that linked Sexi (Amuñécar) with Caviclum (Torrox) and a bridge that would serve as communication with the Roman city of Detunda (Maro).
But the presence of man in these lands dates back to the Upper Paleolithic, as evidenced by the human remains found in the Cueva de Nerja.
In the 10th century it is described as a large farmhouse in the middle of a field of mulberry trees and leafy orchards. Famous for its production of finely crafted silk fabrics.
The town was protected by a strong castle, the remains of which can still be seen on the road to Frigiliana.

Nerja is a small fishing and agricultural village in Málaga. It is the last town East of Málaga, bordering Granada and its subtropical climate translates to 320 days of sun, making Nerja an ideal tourist resort, whether it is for leisure, business, or just straight forward relaxing. Also, there are plenty of nature spots, like Maro, Cerro Gordo or the Tejeda and Almijara mountain ranges. This unique mix of sea and mountain makes Nerja a very special and unique place. Here at Nerja tourism, you'll find everything you need to make your stay in Nerja as perfect as possible:

Sea, sun, beer, wine, fresh fish, fresh seafood, flamenco, local parties and Semana Santa.

In the center of town, you will find one of the most emblematic structures in Nerja, the Balcón de Europa, a balcony above a cliff that looks over the sea, the views here are truly mesmerizing.
The old town is very Andalucian, it’s full of white-washed houses, and pebble streets. Some houses still have their Andalucian terraces, they are truly beautiful. In these pebble streets you can shop for typical products: sweet wine, sugar cane honey (delicious!) and plenty of freshly harvested fruit and vegetables.
There are also a good amount of squares in Nerja: Plaza España is the main square but Plaza Cantarero, Plaza de los Cangrejos, Plaza de la Ermita the Plaza Andalucía are all full of charm. Nerja also has some very nice churches, in Plaza Andalucía you can find the San Miguel church, and in La Ermita you can find another church where the patroness of Nerja is found, Virgen de las Angustias.

On another note, the Plaza Tutti Frutti is full of late night bars and clubs for those who want to experience the local nightlife scene.

Festivities in Nerja
If it’s traditional Andalucian parties that you are looking for, you’re in luck. In Nerja there are lots of these parties throughout the year: the Nerja Carnival, San Juan, Virgen del Carmen, Fiesta Blanca (white party), San Isidro, the Nerja fair and many more…

NERVA’S LANDSCAPES

Nerva has a beautiful and strange landscape patrimony. Its wild mountains have been perforated since ancient times to extract its richness. The most peculiar existing river is born in these mountains where there is a number of attractive ruins that show that this was a prosperous mining area in other times. Do you want to know them?

For first-time visitors, Rome can seem chaotic and confusing, but there's a surprisingly compact center and you’ll be able to do much of your exploring on foot. Most sightseeing in Rome is concentrated between the city’s main transport hub, Stazione Termini, in the east, and Vatican City in the west. The Vatican is one of Rome’s most awe-inspiring areas and contains two must-see attractions: St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums’ Sistine Chapel. The Historic Center (Centro Storico) occupies the right bank bulge on the River Tiber, opposite the Vatican. We’ve divided the area into the elegant northern half which includes Tridente and Trevi Fountain, and the bustling southern section, which includes the old Jewish Quarter. Directly south, the Colosseum and the Forum anchor Ancient Rome, along with the village-like Monti neighborhood. North of Center, Villa Borghese is ideal for recharging your batteries. The more distant southern neighborhoods of Trastevere and Testaccio are a little divorced from the main sightseeing trail but are popular nightlife and foodie hubs.

Nerja Beach Life Cute Dog & Surfing 4K (This is what it looks like)

We had a lovely day on Nerja beach. It was a sunny day and we played a while with Cassie ( Giant Schnauzer ), she loves the ocean and playing with sticks. There were a group of surfers riding the waves. People fishing and kids playing in the sand. Not many people on this beautiful beach.
