Mudon 29 km south of Mawlamyine, Mon State .
The Buddha Image is named as Zinathuka Yan Aung Chantha, which has a length of 400 feet (= 180 m) and a height of 110 feet (nearly 34 m). Inside the image are 182 rooms on 8 stories. Near to the Buddha Image are 200 standing monks collecting alms.

Fairly large town for this part of Myanmar between Mawlamyine and Thanbyuzayat. It's large enough that you would think there would be a guesthouse that could take foreigners but at this time I don't think that is the case.

1000 km in MYANMAR BY BUS to see the biggest Buddha statue
We travelled by bus from Inle Lake to Hpa An and then to Mawlamyine to see the biggest reclining Buddha statue in the world.
Along the way, we saw how betel nut is prepared, we learned a few characters in Burmese and we managed to find a bus in a part of Myanmar where not many people speak English.

The Kyaikpun Pagoda is a pagoda in the city of Bago, Myanmar. Inside this Pagoda is the Kyaikpun Buddha, a Four Seated Buddha. It was constructed by King Migadippa in the 7th Century and renovated by King Dhammazedi in the 15th century.

Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple and Buddha statue in Yangon, Myanmar - the largest reclining Buddha statue in Myanmar. Let's visit the beautiful country of Myanmar (Burma) and let's go to the capital city, the city of Yangon. We will walk up to the famous Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple which is the most well-known Buddhist temple in Yangon, Myanmar. Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple houses one of the most revered reclining Buddha images in the country. The Buddha image is 66 metres (217 ft) long, and one of the largest in Burma.
The construction of the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple was sponsored by a wealthy Burmese Buddhist, Sir Po Tha, in 1899. The image was completed in 1907 by another construction company, but was not proportioned correctly, and the Buddha's face had an aggressive expression.
In the 1950s, the old Buddha image was demolished and temple trustees began work to replace the image, under the supervision of U Thaung, a master craftsman from Tavoy (now Dawei). Large glass eyes with dimensions of 1.77 by .58 metres (5 ft 10 in × 1 ft 11 in) were custom-created at Naga Glass Factory. The Buddha image was consecrated in 1973.
Yangon, also known as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city of Myanmar (also known as Burma). With over 7 million people, Yangon is Myanmar's most populous city and its most important commercial centre.

Inle See - Myanmar
Der Inle See in Zentral Myanmar befindet sich auf 875 m Höhe und hat eine Nord-Süd Ausdehnung von 22 km und 10 km Ost-West. Er ist der 2.-größte See in Myanmar. Ca 70.000 Menschen wohnen am See, sie gehören meist der Volksgruppe der Intha an. Interessant ist das rege Treiben im oder am Wasser, der nie stillstehende Bootsverkehr. Bei den dort angesiedelten Handwerksbetrieben besteht der Eindruck, man befindet sich noch im 19. Jahrhundert, das meiste wird per körperlicher Arbeit erledigt. Wir besuchen eine Weberei mit alten Webstühlen, eine Schmiede und einen Bootsbaubetrieb u.v.m.. Im Kunsthandwerk sind meist Longneck-Frauen der Volksgruppe Kayan beschäftigt. Und auch sonst bieter der See und die Unferregion viele Sehenswürdigkeiten. Tauche mit mir ein auf meiner Reise in die Vergangenheit, die doch Gegenwart ist.
