Tiny Tour | Córdoba Spain | Visit the historic center around the City Hall | 2021 Oct Cordoba

Córdoba is a city in Andalusia, southern Spain, and the capital of the province of Córdoba. It is the third most populated municipality in Andalusia, after Sevilla and Málaga, and the 11th overall in the country.

It was a Roman settlement on the right bank of the Guadalquivir, taken over by the Visigoths, followed by the Muslim conquests in the eighth century and later becoming the capital of the Umayyad Caliphate of Córdoba.

The Plaza de la Corredera is one of the most emblematic places in the Spanish city of Córdoba. It is the only quadrangular main square in Andalusia and is located in the historic district of Axerquía. Although the first evidence of an irregular plaza is from the 14th century, the current plaza was built in 1683 by the architect Antonio Ramós Valdés by order of the corregidor Francisco Ronquillo Briceño.

The Roman temple of Córdoba is located in the city of the same name, in Spain , and was discovered in 1951 during the expansion of the town hall. In the summer of 1951, during some works that sought to enlarge the building of the town hall, they found remains of shafts, columns and Roman capitals, for which the work was stopped.

The Plaza de las Tendillas is located in the vicinity of the ancient Roman forum of the city of Córdoba. It is currently the axis where the commercial life of the Cordovan capital is developed and organized, serving as a connector for the main commercial avenues such as Cruz Conde , Claudio Marcelo and Gondomar streets.

There are over 200 kilometers of underground tunnels where the wine is stores. Each tunnel passage, or “street” is named after a different type of wine. David’s guide Natalia explains that the wine collection holds over 1.5 million bottles of wine!

Albaicin (Spain) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Albaicin in Spain.
Albaicín is one of the most picturesque areas in Granada and is famous for both its history as well as its numerous beautifully decorated buildings. In the 7th century B.C., first the Iberians and then the Romans and Visigoths settled here in the spacious hill area above the River Darro. However, it was only under the rule of the Moors, when Granada became an independent Islamic kingdom, that the region began to flourish.Even today the splendour of the former Islamic monarchy is highlighted by the world famous and legendary Alhambra Palace. Due to a peace treaty with the Christians’military leaders, Mohammed The First had the impressive castle built. Over the years the Alhambra was extended and its architecture was embellished by its royal inhabitants until the town finally fell to the Catholic Kings. In Albaicín the glorious atmosphere of old Granada can still be felt amid its buildings, its lanes and even in the air. For the architectural legacy of the Moors continues to enchant all those who experience it, right up to the present day.

Olive fields & Landscapes in Spain

Olive fields & Landscapes in Spain, The Olive Grove Landscapes of Andalusia, Spain travel guide
Travel Videos (Subscribe Now) ????

The proposal regarding The Olive Grove Landscapes of Andalusia presents said property as a serial property that comes under the typology of Cultural Landscape. In the three categories that make up this typology according to annex 3 of the Operational Guidelines, and according to the different ways the landscape has developed, this property is put forward a) as an Evolving Cultural Landscape and a b) Living Cultural Landscape. Even though the precise, detailed designation of this property will be carried out when the Application Form is filled out, this preliminary proposal to include the property on the Tentative List will initially include traditional olive groves that are of the greatest significance in Andalusia, and which are the most valuable in terms of landscape and heritage. In other words, these will be the olive groves that best capture, whether individually or as a whole, the exceptional universal value of this cultural landscape.

If the property in question is a serial property, we have landscape sub-units that have been identified - see the table attached - that differ according to their geographical location and their representativeness. This selection meets the criteria for serial properties, which paragraph 138 of the Operational Guidelines defines as properties that comprise two or more features that are interlinked by clearly defined connections, and which must also meet the following conditions:
a) They reflect cultural, social and functional connections in the landscape.
b) Each feature contributes to the exceptional universal value of the landscape as a whole in a vital and scientific way that is easily defined, evident and that comprises intangible attributes.
c) The selection of these features takes into account the consistency of and capacity for global management, and the series must, as a whole (and not necessarily each individual feature), have an exceptional universal value.

Territorial and socio-economic values

The importance of the olive tree has remained imprinted in the culture of countries in the Mediterranean region, where growing these trees and extracting olive oil has, over the centuries, led to the development of a number of practices, customs, rituals and beliefs that have been around since Antiquity in practically all areas of life. All the peoples who have lived in this region have contributed their own technology and culture, turning the olive into a commonly used product as well as a primary commodity in trade throughout history.

Grown ever since the Neolithic era, the human history that has shaped olive culture can still partially be seen today as it constantly adapts to an ever-changing world. This olive culture we have just described, which is authentic, Mediterranean and closely linked to nature and agriculture (despite becoming increasingly industrialised and automated), is very visible indeed in Andalusia. In this region, olives are the socio-economic foundation for a significant proportion of its rural population, who are all linked to olives in one way or another, whether they are farmers or olive grove owners. If we look at olives from a consumer's perspective, we can also say that most people in Andalusia as a whole, not just the rural population, are linked to olive oil in some way, and that they are experts on olives and everything to do with them. The integration of olive trees into the landscape, the diverse landscapes where olive trees grow, in addition to the economy and lifestyle of populations throughout history have led to the accumulation of a wealth of culture and a number of indications that this tree, its fruit (the olive) and its oil are amongst the defining features of the landscape.

????????[4K] TARIFA Spain City Walking Tour May 2023 | Cádiz, Andalucía

Located on the southernmost point of Continental Europe, Tarifa is a vibrant surfing town that’s a must-visit for anyone travelling to Andalusia. In 1292, Tarifa was taken from the Moors by King Sancho IV.
Tarifa unites the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in a year-round sunny windy climate.
Getting lost on the narrow streets of Tarifa is a must do experience, that transposes you in a mix of African and European culture.
It's undeniable that Tarifa is a fairytale town surrounded by incredible beaches and crystal clear waters.
There are many beautiful churches to enter and visit, such as San Mateo, San Francisco and Santa María.
Make sure to visit Puerta de Jerez, Tarifa's only entrance through the old Moorish city walls that remains today! The Jerez Gate will take you directly to Tarifa's historic center.
The Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno is also worth a visit. This castle and fortress overlooks the sea and the coast and mountains of Morocco are visible from its towers!
Last but not least, the Archaeological Complex of Baelo Claudia is incredible. This archaeological site and National Monument is what remains of an ancient Roman city, and is surprisingly so well-preserved that it has become the most complete Roman urban complex on the Iberian Peninsula.

Often passed over in favor of more famous Andalusian destinations, Tarifa has so much to offer and should be on every traveler's bucket list.
