Mont-Roig del Camp is a town and municipality of Catalonia situated in the region of Baix Camp, located in the central sector of the region between the Sierra de Colldejou and the Mediterranean Sea. It is made up of two towns: the old town inland and the town of Platja de Mont-roig in the coastal area which has 12km of coastline, on the Costa Daurada.
In the interior of the municipality the main activity is agriculture, highlighting mainly the crops of olives , almonds , carobs and also vegetables. Of note is the DO Siurana olive oil, which is one of the main products of the municipal economy.
In the coastal area, in Miami Platja(Miami Beach), its natural characteristics have boosted the development of a very important tourist activity that has increased in recent years to become the main source of income.

Episode of Mont-roig and Miami Beach:
The Ermita Mare de Déu de la Roca is a hermitage located in Mont-roig del Camp ( Baix Camp ). It is located at an altitude of 294 meters, on a very eroded rock. The existence of the hermitage is documented in a will granted on May 12, 1299.
In June 1811, with Suchet 's attack on the village, the hermitage was looted and set on fire. The building was almost demolished, and the image was saved because it had previously been hidden in a chasm. [2] After the French War, in 1814, it was rebuilt. During the First Carlist War the hermitage was closed, and the image did not return until 1841. The image of the Virgin and Child, in blackened wood, seems to be from the 18th century. This image, along with other elements of the hermitage and the archive was burned in 1936.
Above the hermitage of La Roca is the chapel of Sant Ramon, whitewashed to serve as a guide for sailors; the image of the saint had been found in the sea and the first chapel was built around 1818. The hermitage, badly beaten by the wind, was abandoned during the first Carlist war. It was restored in 1902 by a group of women from Mont-roig and Miquel Herrera and Prudenci Anguera from Reus . From the chapel there is an extensive and beautiful panorama that covers about thirty villages.

Playa Montroig Camping Costa Dorada Cambrils Salou Kelair Campotel
Playa Montroig camping is on the Spanish Costa Dorada, just down the road from Cambrils and Salou. Camping Playa Montroig has been a favourite Kelair Campotel for nearly over 10 years. This Playa Montroig video was made Easter 2019. No webcam footage was used in this Playa Montroig video. Playa Montroig is one of Spain's top family campsites. KelAir Campotel is not a eurocamp company.

Playa Montroig is situated 10kms from the beautiful resort of Cambrils.
Situated on its own beach, this campsite is a self contained resort and has a lot to offer. Heated pool with water slides, New entertainment complex, choice of bars and restaurants, large fully stocked shop, on site bakery, a fishmongers (high season) and and even wine cellar. For sightseeing lovers, the mountain range of Montserrat will not disappoint and is definitely a must see on any holidaymakers list. The campsite is also ideally located to enjoy a day trip to Barcelona or even catch a FC Barcelona match or take a tour of their grounds, Feel what it is like to be a player about to walk out onto the Camp Nou pitch. A special area is dedicated to superstar Lionel Messi. The kids will be delighted to hear that Spain’s number one themepark PortAventura is also only
a 25 minute drive away.
- We're in Camping Playa Montroig here in, about 10 kilometers from Cambrils. I'd say one of the main advantages of this campsite would be the fact that it's on the beach. That is a huge advantage that there's no traveling involved, it's all walking. In regards to the local area PortAventura is a massive plus for families, especially with teenagers, and a lot of people would like to go to Barcelona to the Nou Camp. Again you have Montserrat. So with KelAir we have 25 units and a mixture of two beds, three beds, some are three bed two bathrooms. They come fully equipped. Gas barbecue, all have deckings and air conditioning, so yeah fully equipped. It's very popular the fact that it has a large pool complex, and it's also right on the beach, so you have full beach access, which proves very popular especially with the Irish,. With regard to facilities on sight, sports wise we have tennis courts, basketball, and there are soccer pitches, and some paddle courts. We also have, there's a full super market, and a fish shop in high season. There is two restaurants, a bar, and again in high season a beach bar. As I said there's a large pool complex for all ages with slides, and also a smaller splash pool for younger kids. Some people like to do the pools in the morning, beach in the afternoon or the other way around, so you've got, it's all within walking distance. There's no traveling required. In terms of nationalities you get a great mix on Playa Montroig from Irish, English, Dutch, German, a lot of Spanish, even some Danes and French, so there's a good mix. Here in Playa Montroig we get a lot of repeat custom, same people returning year after year. The season would run from the beginning of April, or generally around Easter, until Halloween, and high season would be June, July, and August. Where the most Irish people would come in June. The campsite would be 70% Irish in June. Driving from the campsite you've got a choice. You've got Cambrils which is only ten kilometers away, which is a really nice resort, good beach, nice restaurants, shopping. You have Salou which can be quite popular, and then you're about 90 minutes from Barcelona city center. Also within short driving distance you have the city of Tarragona, you have Reus, and PortAventura is a fifteen minute drive from the campsite. Most people will fly either into Barcelona, there's five daily flights throughout the season, or into Reus which is the closer airport, about 20 minutes from here.

Here's our campground review for camping Barcelona, is it the best campsite for touring Barcelona?
The campsite has a great pool and beach bar. Each pitch has a connection to water, grey waste and electric hook up. We loved it there. There is a free bus going to the beach and a paying shuttle to central Barcelona. We highly recommend the shuttle service and its a brilliant place if you are in a larger motorhome or don't fancy driving into central Barcelona.
