Driving around historic Moberly, MO off 63 highway for the first time. The town is in Randolph County, but is not the county seat. Its a nice clean old town. Many of the old buildings are empty.

Driving to the Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site, I went through a few old towns along the way. This old town is Madison, MO. It's a nice old clean town with a nice water tower and Dollar General. The Dollar General is a store that seems to dominate small town America...replacing the old small businesses owned by individuals and not large corporations. These old stores that have been replaced or have ceased to exist. They were also called ma and pa stores.
