Es uno de los cinco municipios enclavados geográficamente en la península del Morrazo que separa la ría de Vigo de la de Pontevedra, junto con Cangas, Marín, Bueu y Vilaboa. En su suelo se ubica la mayor elevación del Morrazo, el monte Faro de Domaio de 624 m de altitud. Su costa acoge playas, como la de Domaio, a Borna, A Xunqueira o la de O Con (bandera azul), que combinan el uso turístico con la producción de marisco, e industrias relacionadas con la mar. Sus aguas se utilizan para la cría del mejillón y otras especies. Tiene diferentes puertos tanto deportivos como pesqueros y una actividad cultural relevante en la que destaca el Festival Intercéltico del Morrazo.Como siempre os digo.

Its coast welcomes beaches, like Domaio, Borna, Xunqueira or O With (blue flag), combining tourist use with the seafood production, and industries related to the sea. Its waters are used for breeding mussel and other species. Both have different marinas and fishing and a relevant cultural activity which highlights the Interceltique Festival of Morrazo.

Juan José de Oliveira Viéitez (Tuy, Spain, October 22, 1928 - Vigo, Spain, April 16, 2002) was a sculptor specialized in monumental figures of horses and bulls. Although he did not discover his talent until he was 40 years old, his work is found today in several Galician cities as well as in other places in Spain such as Madrid, Guadalajara or Menorca. In Vigo are his works more recognized like the Monument to the Horses of the Place of Spain or the Monument to Europe next to the Beach of Samil.
