☀️ Places to visit in BENALMÁDENA | Travel Guide | Malaga | Costa del Sol [SPAIN]

In this Online Guided Tour of Benalmádena we take you around some of its interesting places to visit. Benalmádena is divided into three areas; Benalmádena Costa, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Pueblo, and it is found on the Costa del Sol, in the South of Spain.

There is plenty to see and enjoy in this municipality; from its lovely beaches and popular Marina, to its vibrant central area within Arroyo de la Miel with the beautiful Parque de la Paloma, and the pretty white-washed village of Benalmádena on the mountainside.

In Arroyo de la Miel you will be able to take the train that travels from Málaga to Fuengirola.

(NOTE: When we film ourselves without masks at any landmark or on the streets, we make sure that there is nobody around. Safety first!)

The Anaya Palace is one of the few buildings in Salamanca in neoclassical style . His works began in 1760 , to replace the old building of the Major School of San Bartolomé, very damaged in the earthquake of Lisbon of 1755. Its creators were José de Hermosilla and Juan de Sagarvinaga .

Palacio de Anaya most striking elements are the imperial facade and staircase inside the palace, where there is also an interesting bust of Miguel de Unamuno , made by Victorio Macho in 1930. The Palace of Anaya currently houses the Faculty of Philology of the University of Salamanca .

The main façade has a large portico with four columns topped with pediment and a staircase; a great heraldic shield rising above the building; the ten windows of the lower floor have beautiful bars and there are ten other balconies on the upper floor.

Next to the school is the Hospedería, 1715 , of Joaquín Churriguera , that housed students who paid the studies serving to other noble and rich students that occupied the School. Nowadays it is used for classrooms and offices, and its old stables house the cafeteria of the Faculty. Also it is aneja the baroque church of San Sebastián , old chapel of the school and at the moment Parish of the Cathedral.

Las 10 estaciones más bonitas de Metro. Top 10 estaciones de metro madrid. ????

I ❤️ Metro.

Travel Spain: Salamanca -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site

On May 31, 2010 my stay in Asturias had come to an end. I said goodbye to my gracious hosts at the Posada de Babel and started my drive eastwards along the coastline of Asturias. Slowly the rainy and cloudy weather gave way to bright sunshine near Oviedo, and on my way through the mountains, I stopped the car to admire the breathtaking mountain scenery.

Then I left the mountains behind and drove into the plains of Castile and Leon. The famous Camino de Santiago (St. James Way), the ancient pilgrimage route, snakes its way through here. In the mid-afternoon I arrived in Salamanca, my destination for the day. I checked into my hotel, the 4-star Hotel Regio on the outskirts of town. After a brief rest I drove 10 minutes and parked my car just next to the Tormes River.

With a population of about 160,000 people, Salamanca is an important city in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon. It is about 200 kilometres west of Madrid and most well-known for its historic university, which was founded in 1218. Today Salamanca is one of the most popular destinations for Spanish language studies. Thousands of foreign students study here.

I walked through the downtown area and enjoyed the golden sandstone buildings, most of which stem from the Renaissance area. This has earned Salamanca the nickname The Golden City (La Ciudad Dorada). The impressive Plaza Mayor is the city's central square and can hold about 20,000 people. In former times it was even used as a venue for bullfights.

Salamanca's cathedral is of Romanesque style and was founded in the 12th century. The adjoining new cathedral dates from the early 1500s and was finally finished in 1734 and encompasses Late Gothic and Plateresque styles. On my walk through town I also caught a view of the imposing university buildings. The University of Salamanca was host to many famous students and lecturers, including Christopher Columbus, Hernan Cortes, Miguel de Unamuno, and Miguel de Cervantes.

Other sites in Salamanca include the House of Shells (La Casa de las Conchas), built in the late 15th century and studded with 350 sandstone shells, and the Roman Bridge, which dates back to 89 AD which was part of the Roman sliver route.
