Spain's Princess Leonor takes part in a flag swearing-in ceremony in Zaragoza.
Princess Leonor will undertake solemn duty, a duty that echoes the footsteps of her father, King Felipe, back in the year 1985. Princess Leonor will take the oath, swear her allegiance, and pledge her life to Spain as she kisses the revered Flag of her nation. Her promise is one of unwavering dedication to the defence of Spain and its constitutional order, a pledge that resonates deeply with the core values of the Spanish monarchy.
The ceremony began with the arrival of the royal family, King Felipe and Queen Letizia (Infanta sofia will not attend due to her studies in UWC in UK), who were greeted by the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Defense Staff, the Chief of the Army Staff, and the Director of the General Military Academy. They then proceeded to the parade ground, where the Flag of the General Military Academy was waiting for them, guarded by four cadets.
The King and the Queen took their seats in the presidential stand, while the Princess of Asturias joined the rest of the cadets in formation. The national anthem was played, followed by a speech by the Director of the General Military Academy, who welcomed the new cadets and explained the significance of the Flag Oath.
But Princess Leonor is not alone in this solemn act of devotion. By her side, a new class of cadets from the General Military Academy shall stand, bound by their shared commitment. These young men and women represent the General, Quartermaster, and Polytechnic Engineer Corps of the Army, along with the esteemed members of the Civil Guard. In this pivotal moment, they publicly affirm their unwavering resolve to safeguard Spain and its cherished principles.
Princess Leonor's journey towards this solemn day has been one marked by dedication and sacrifice. On August 17, she embarked upon the path of military training at the General Military Academy, a path that would prepare her for the responsibilities she now embraces. On September 19, she received her officer's saber alongside 560 newly admitted cadets who, like her, have embarked on a noble quest to serve their nation.

La Corporación Municipal acompaña a la Virgen de las Angustias, Patrona de Guadix, en la misa pontifical celebrada el domingo por la mañana
La Corporación Municipal del Ayuntamiento de Guadix, encabezada por el alcalde accitano, Jesús Lorente, ha acompañado este segundo domingo de noviembre, tal y como es tradición, a la Patrona de Guadix, la Virgen de las Angustias, en los cultos que se celebran este día.
En un año diferente ya que debido a la pandemia de Covid-19 la patrona no desfila procesionalmente por las calles de Guadix como es tradición.
Lo que si se ha celebrado, con todas las medidas sanitarias de prevención de la enfermedad, y donde ha participado la Corporación, es la misa pontifical en honor a la Virgen de las Angustias celebrada en la Catedral accitana por el obispo de Guadix, Monseñor Francisco Jesús Orozco Mengíbar, que pone fin a los cultos que se han venido celebrando durante toda la semana en la Catedral.
