Golden Rock, Kyaiktiyo is one of the three most sacred religious sites in Myanmar, other than Shwedagon Pagoda and Mahamuni Temple. the Shwedagon Pagoda and Mahamuni Temple. Pilgrims come here from far and wide to worship and add gold leaf to the rock, which seems to defy gravity by delicately balancing on the edge of the 1100-metre high mount Kyaiktiyo

Inle lake is the second largest lake of Myanmar. Rich in flora and fauna it is a biosphere reserve.
The lake is famous for its beauty, the floating gardens, Intha fishermen, Full moon festival, Lotus stem textiles, Mulberry Umbrellas, Long nech females, Seagulls, Silversmiths, Blacksmiths, Carved goods, Tasty Shan food, Lake pagoda and Submerged houses and shops. It's complete world in its own.
It is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations and yet can be covered in minimum budget. :)
Naung Shwe boasts of hot air balloon rides too..but that is slightly expensive. :(

Meiktila is a small town on the crossroads to Mandalay, Bagan and Inle.

Meiktila is a city in Central Burma. It was founded by the legendary Bagan king Anawrahta and named after Indian legendary king Janaka's capital Mithila. It is famous for its lake (11 km X 1 km) dug by Anawrahta in 1054 AD to provide relief for the city's arid climate. Today it has a large airforce base. Our father practised law from Meiktila (he was an advocate of Rangoon High Court), till 1940. My older brother Mohan was born here. We could locate his birthplace.

39 Local bus from Inle Lake to Meiktila, Myanmar (Burma)
We Said Go Travel October 23, 2012 We wanted to travel during the day from Inle Lake to Mandalay. They kept saying, no to us. There is only the evening bus from Inle Lake to Mandalay 10,000K per person with air conditioning. But we knew there had to be a way to go during the day and without air con.
We left Golden Empress Hotel by Tuk Tuk around 10am for a surprising 35min ride to the junction for 6000K. We did not think it would be so far but it was. Immediately as we crossed the street a man said to us, Meiktila? We said yes, and were offered 5000K each for the middle row of the back of the truck or 8000K per person for the front seat. They shoved our bags under the seats on the dusty floor, we climbed in and we were nearly off by quarter to eleven.
It was definitely the milk run and we stopped many times to add more people, let people off, get betel nut, water, oranges all sorts of things. At one point an additional seven young men threw their large carry sacks in the back and all climbed ontop of the bus with the large satchels of green beans.
We went through Kalaw and stopped for lunch somewhere but we only got butter bread roles and soy beans. I went to a grimy outhouse but at least it was there. I loved the fields of rice and corn and all the oxen. Coming down the steep hills we had to stop half way and water the tires. I found a truck with a tire that seemed to be on its last day. We got to Thaza and knew we were close. We saw a beautiful sunset over a lake and thought we made it but we kept going.
At the bus station in Miektila, they offered us 1000K per person for motorbike or 3000K for 2 in a tuk tuk as it was 1km we decided to walk. We saw the clock tower and the mosque. We found Lekker Corner which we came back to for dinner (Thai and Chinese food). A nice man on a motorbike helped us find the right street and we saw both $25 and $35 rooms. The pricier ones have TV and refrigerator; there is only wifi in the lobby. We looked at two rooms and were not so impressed as the $35 had such a dirty floor. I asked for room G2 as the Lonely Planet suggested but that building does not exist anymore. George looked at two more rooms and found #202. After we dusted off our bags, we opened the refrigerator and saw how disgusting dirty it was. There is another hotel in this city but not in town. This would be our most expensive night in our 27 days in Myanmar.
Aung San Suu Kyi had her honeymoon here in this town but I think not in this hotel.
Bus to Mandalay: one company one bus leaves at 11:30pm, and arrives 4am
Another company: 5am bus to Mandalay
Front desk at the hotel suggested to take a mini bus at 8am, 9am, 10am, or noon.
Breakfast was available from 7-10am inside or outside as you wish.

မန္တလေးတိုင်း မိတ္ထီလာမြို့နယ် မုန်တိုင်ရွာမှာ ရှေးဘုရင်ခေတ်ကတည်းက တည်ထားကိုးကွယ်ခဲ့သော ဘုရားစေတီတော်များရှိပါတယ်။ ၄င်းဘုရားစေတီတော်များရဲ့ ပုံသဏ္ဍာန်ဟာ ပုဂံမြို့တွင်ရှိသောဘုရားစေတီများနှင့် တူနေပြီး တစ်နေရာတည်းတွင် စုပြီးတည်ရှိနေပါတယ်။ အဲ့ဒီနေရာကို အရင်က မုန်တိုင်ဘုရားစုလို့ပဲ မုန်တိုင်ရွာနီးနားစပ်တွေက ခေါ်ခဲ့ကြပြီး အခုချိန်မှာတော့ ''ထီလာပုဂံ'' ဟုပြောင်းလဲခေါ်လာခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။
အခုချိန်မှာတော့ ဘုရားဖူးလာသူများ မိသားစုများ သူငယ်ချင်းများ စုပေါင်းပြီး အပျော်အလည်အပတ်လာကြသလို မင်္ဂလာဆောင် pre-wedding ရိုက်ဖို့လာကြသူတွေလည်း အတော်များများလာကြပါတယ်

Yegyi is one of the townships towns in Ayeyarwady Region in Myanmar. it is about 86 kilometres northeast of Pathein. I have been to Yegyi a long long time ago. I have not had train travel in Myanmar for a long time.
We have one and a half hour to explore Yegyi during our visit.
Yegyi is a peaceful town in Ayeyarwady Division. There are many shops and we can get most goods from here. Most Myanmar shop early in the morning to get fresh meats and vegetables.
There are many tea shops in most markets in Myanmar. Tea shops have been a long-standing part of Myanmar’s cultural history.
Tea shops are not just where people go to get good cheap food, people go for all matters of life. People meet with friends, tease each other, tell some jokes, gossiping, discussion about what’s going on locally and in the world.

Myanmar trip part V . Arrive to Old Bagan 4k
We're leaving 285 miles rest camp after lunch.I think that it about 1.30pm when we left there . We don't have to go back Yangon-Mandalay Expressway and we heading to Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila Highway. This Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila Highway is narrow and quite a lot traffic than Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. The challenging part is overtake other cars due to narrow road. Along the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila Highway Road, we are looking for Latpanbya fried chicken shops but we don't find any fried chicken shops because Google Map suddenly stops working . And we found out because of unstable Internet connection. Well it is really doesn't matter because we already have big lunch and just curious about this famous fried chicken. Along the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila Highway Road has beautiful flat landscapes scenery and we can see Mount Popa from very far away. We arrive at 3.45pm to Bagan Hotel River View where we will stay for 2 nights. Next video will be exploring Bagan Hotel River View and Bu Phaya .
၂၈၅ မိုင် ယာဉ် ရပ်နားစခန်းမှာ နေလည့်စာ ထမင်းကို Feels Restaurant မှာစားပြီး နေ့လည် တစ်နာရီခွဲ လောက် မှာ ၂၈၅ မိုင်ကထွက်လာခဲ့လာတယ်။ လမ်းမကြီးပေါ်မှာ Google Map က အင်တာနက် လိုင်းမိလိုက် မမိလိုက်နဲ့ဆိုတော့ ပေါက်ကရ နေရာတွေကို လျှောက်ပြ နေတာ နှင့်ကျောက်ပတောင်း-မိတ်ထီလာ လမ်းမကြီး အတိုင်း တောက်လျောက် မောင်းလာရင်း လက်ပံပြား ကြက်ကျော် ဆိုင်တွေကို ကိုရှာတာ မတွေ့ ခဲ့ဘူး။ ကျောက်ပတောင်း-မိတ်ထီလာ လမ်းက ကောင်းပေမည့် လမ်းကျဉ်း တဲ့အတွက် ကားကျော်ရတာ တော်တော် ခက်ပါတယ်။ လမ်းအထာကို သိတဲ့ မောင်းနေကြသူတွေကတော့ အေးအေးဆေးဆေး ကျော်သွား တာကိုတွေ့တယ်။ ကိုယ်တွေကား မောင်းတဲ့ ကောင်လေးက ချိတုံ ချတုံနဲ့ ရှေ့က ကားတွေကို ကျော်ရမည့် နေရာတွေမှာ မကျော် ရဲလို့ ခရီးသွားအချိန် ပိုကြာပါတယ်။ ကျောက်ပတောင်းမြို့ ကိုကျော်ပြီး ကျောက်ပတောင်း-ညောင်ဦးလမ်း ရောက်မှဘဲ ကားမောင်း ရတာ အဆင်ပြေသွားတယ်။ပုဂံမှာ Bagan Hotel River View မှာနှစ်ရက်တည်းပါမယ်။ ပြီးရင် ပုပ္ပါး တောင်မကြီးကိုဆက်တက်ပါမယ်။ လာမည့် video မှာ Bagan Hotel River View နှင့် ဗူးဘုရား ထဲမှာရိုက်ထားတဲ့ အပိုင်းလာပါမယ်။
