Ultimate CHAPLI KEBABS! | Extreme Pakistani Street Food in Mardan, Pakistan!

SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week
T-shirts and caps:
Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):

I can say with certainty, chapli kebabs are probably the best form or shape of any kebab or meat patty formation that I’ve ever had in my entire life. This was my first time to try this Pakistani food speciality, and I was blown away with every bite. Chapli kebabs are extraordinary!

Islamabad - Capital Pakistan - So we started off the day in Islamabad, but the plan for the day was to drive to Mardan, eat along the way, and eat our way through Mardan, but mostly focusing the day on chapli kebabs.

Mian Jee Restaurant - One the way to Mardan we stopped at Mian Jee, a very famous restaurant know for all sorts of dishes, but especially their world famous dal. It’s so thick and creamy it’s almost the consistency of peanut butter. And yes, it’s rich and delicious.

Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan - We arrived in Mardan in the early afternoon and headed straight to eat chapli kebabs for the first time.

Chapli Kebab - Mardan - The first place we are chapli kebab was a local favorite spot in Mardan city. I’m not exactly sure of the name, but it’s a very popular spot and known by locals. They had the massive podium fryer, filled with melted fat, and made medium sized burger patties, with big chunks of bone marrow to make this even better. Their chapli kebabs (kababs) were seasoned perfectly with a balance of tomato and cumin. It was an eye opener for me.

Falooda - Next we stopped in Mardan to eat falooda, and from what I understand, Mardan falooda is pretty famous.

River View Restaurant - Next on this day of Mardan and Peshawar, we drove to River View Restaurant, mainly to go on a boat ride in the Kabul River. The river ride was fun, and it was amazing to be cruising down the Kabul river. The restaurant also had delicious food.

Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba - But for our real dinner we needed to get another dose of chapli kebabs. On the way, almost to Peshawar city, we stopped at Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba, possibly the most famous of all chapli kebab in the world. And when you see their bonfire and podium of a cooking station, you’ll know why it’s the best. They make larger sized patties, filled with spices, and bone marrow, and again fried in their own fat.

The chapli kebabs were so unbelievably delicious, I could hardly control myself. It was an amazing day of Pakistani street food in Pakistan, and an intro to chapli kebabs from the source.

10 Beautifull Places in Peshawar | Best Tourist Places to Visit in Peshawar

#10BeautifullPlacesinPeshawar #BestTouristPlacestoVisitinPeshawar

History:
Peshawar is the capital of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its largest city. It is the sixth-largest in Pakistan.Peshawar is also the largest Pashtun-majority city in Pakistan and is bilingual in Pashto and Hindko. Situated in the broad Valley of Peshawar near the eastern end of the historic Khyber Pass, close to the border with Afghanistan, Peshawar's recorded history dates back to at least 539 BCE, making it the oldest city in Pakistan and one of the oldest cities in South Asia. As the center of the ancient Gandhara region, Peshawar served as the capital of the Kushan Empire and was home to the Kanishka stupa. Peshawar was then sacked by the White Huns, before the arrival of Muslim empires. The city was an important trading centre during the Mughal era before serving as the winter capital of the Afghan Durrani Empire from 1757 until the city was captured by the Sikh Empire in 1818, who were then followed by the British in 1849.

Rare MARDAN STREET FOOD Tour!! Mardan Bazaar + Ancient Buddhist Monastery | Pakistan

???????? MANAKY:
???? MANAKY:

After exploring the Pakistani cities of Karachi and Peshawar, I made it to my next destination, Mardan! Come with me as I take you on a rare Mardan street food tour of and explore an ancient Buddhist monastery in Mardan, Pakistan!

My guide Rashid from Manaky and I woke up bright and early to begin our drive to Mardan. Our first stop of the day was in Taru Jabba, a small town 30 minutes outside of Peshawar, for some breakfast!

???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

Taru Jabba is roughly halfway between Peshawar and Mardan. Our first stop was Faysalabad Hotel, where we got parathas, hard-boiled eggs, channa, Haleem, halwa, and lassi.

The oily channa was full of flavor and paired well with the egg, while the pasty and minty Haleem was herbal and savory. The halwa added a nice sweetness to everything!
I finished up with some refreshing lassi and some hot, creamy chai with cardamom.

Then, we drove on toward Mardan and stopped at a livestock market where the merchants were selling tons of lamb, goats, and sheep!

After arriving in Mardan, we explored Mardan Bazaar, where we got some fresh sugarcane juice and tried some biryani at Pista House Haleem. We also got a unique Mardan-style falooda at Mardan Faluda!

Back on the street, Rashid and I negotiated for a white scarf for 150 rupees/$0.97 USD. We then passed more falooda shops, fabrics and bedding shops, the livestock section, and electronics market.

Then, I set my sights on Peshawari chappals at Imperial Collection. Chappals are traditional leather sandals worn by Pashtun men in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.

A pair of size 12 blue chappals cost 2,000 rupees/$12.88 USD, but the shop owners gave me a discount. I only paid 1,800 rupees/$11.60 USD.

We saw more shoe shops, where they have different varieties of chappal. Some of them have more designs and fabric on them!

Next, we visited PK Hotel & Restaurant to have kabli pulao, chicken seekh kebabs, chicken karahi, raita, and naan. The kebabs were tender and juicy. I loved the minced chicken.

Next, I jumped on the chicken karahi, which was a flavorful tomato-based curry with cream. It was unbelievable!

The pulao was savory, sweet, and mild, and adding raita made it a creamy texture. It was so good!

From there, Rashid and I drove five minutes to Takht-i-Bahi, an ancient Buddhist monastery. It costs 500 rupees/$3.22 USD for foreigners to enter, but they add on another 300 rupees/$1.93 USD for cameras. You must bring your visa and passport.

Takht-i-Bahi is a well-preserved monastic complex that dates back over 3,000 years to the early 2nd century BCE. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.

It’s a bit of a hike up the stairs to get to the top, but it’s well worth it. It looks like a massive stone fort. Only 25% of the site has been excavated, and it’s already massive.

There, we could see several ruins as well as the surrounding hills. I could make out what looked like housing. We also visited a room full of small stupas and one large stupa in the middle that was missing its top.

We also saw a meditation cell before we made the steep climb to the very top. You need to be in shape to make it! From there, we could see the entire complex, including the 10-20-foot-high walls. The roof was wooden, so it’s no longer there.

Takht-i-Bahi was really a miniature city. I’d never visited an ancient site like this one, where you can see the structures and the surrounding hills. I could see monk quarters, servant quarters, classrooms, and more.

Finally, we stopped by the actual monastery, where are tons of small rooms and monk cells.
