Manresa, the capital of the Bages region, is located in the hearth of Catalonia. The main attraction in Manresa is the Basilica of Santa Maria de la Seu, commonly known as La Seu. This gothic church began to be built in 1325 but it was not finished until the XV century. The highlight here is the Neo-Gothic facade. La Seu is also very interesting because of the works of art preserved inside it, particularly the set of Gothic altarpieces.

Sus calles medievales o los palacetes modernistas que el visitante encuentra a su paso son la prueba histórica del espíritu emprendedor que esta ciudad ha tenido desde sus orígenes. Manresa ofrece la imagen de una ciudad atractiva y moderna.
El punto más emblemático de la ciudad es la basílica de Santa Maria de la Seu, erigida en un emplazamiento bastante elevado, en el monte situado encima del río Cardener. La primera piedra fue colocada en el año 1328, y su construcción se prolongó a lo largo de los siglos, hasta el punto que el portal del lado de poniente fue acabado en pleno siglo XX.
Hay que destacar también el puente Nou, construido en el siglo XIV. Está considerado uno de los puentes medievales más bien conservados de Catalunya. Otro puente a destacar es el Pont Vell, de origen romano y considerado uno de los punetes más antiguos del país.
Además de los periodos medieval y romano, también abarca la época dorada del modernismo, con piezas realmente atractivas. Una de ellas es el Casino, situado en el paseo Pere III, arteria principal de la ciudad, sede del Centro Cultural de la ciudad. Igualmente representativos son la fábrica Balcells, el quiosco Fius y Palà o los almacenes Jorba, de estilo art déco, suntuosos y funcionales al mismo tiempo.
