Outside of the Labya Hauz Complex is the not to be missed exquisite House of Moon and Stars or the Summer Palace of Alim Khan of the Manghit Dynasty , the last descendant of Genghiz Khan. This Palace clearly illustrates the Emirate of the time torn between tradition v/s reform, modern Russia v/s medivial Central Asia.Pavillions of opulance, grandure and indulgence gave way to the rise of local activists from the Young Bukharan Movement , a people who were clearly not in synch with the leadership .The successful downfall led by the Bolshevik Red Army in 1920 saw the Emir flee with his family to Afghanistan divorcing the 40 concubines to freedom and patronizing by high ranked Russian army officers.
