From the Alcazaba, descend in a northward direction through the Barranco de la Hoya, a line of wall that reaches San Cristobal Hill was built during the time of King Jairán (1012-1028) in the eleventh century. Here are the remnants of the neighborhood amurallamiento musalla, which descends from the hill via the main street Antonio Vico.
On the hill, known in Muslim times as Monte Laham, there are seven towers, three square Muslim towers, and four semicircular Christian towers. These were built by the Templars of Alfonso VII, who constructed a strong chapel following the Christian conquest of the city under the command of the troops of Alfonso VII in 1147.
On this hill, which has an impressive view of the city, and is located on a large pedestal, is the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, constructed of local Macael marble. It was restored in 2000 and it is said to bless the city and the Mediterranean Sea. It was originally built in the twentieth century (around 1930).

Localizado entre los municipios de Arcos de la Frontera, Villamartín y Bornos, del cual recibe su nombre, el embalse se establece sobre las aguas del Río Guadalete. Este lugar declarado paraje natural es un humedal de gran valor ecológico. Entre sus diversos atractivos destaca la presencia de abundantes aves, entres las que se encuentran especies protegidas. Por otro lado, los frondosos tarajales que existen en sus orillas proporcionan un magnífico enclave para la nidificación y/o el refugio de importantes colonias de ardeidas, de entre las que destacan algunas tan singulares como la espátula, la garcilla cangrejera o el martinete con su belleza inquietante. Más alejadas de la orilla, cobran protagonismo las suaves laderas salpicadas de lentiscos y acebuches. Aunque es de interés especial para los amantes observadores de las aves, la visita a este lugar no dejará indiferente a ningún visitante. La época invernal y las horas de comienzo y final del día son las ideales para contemplar el espectáculo visual lleno de vida que ofrece este lugar.

La Ruta de las 3 Cascadas de Anna es una de las rutas senderistas más espectaculares de la provincia de Valencia. El recorrido de 3 km tiene una duración de dos horas aproximadamente. El grado de dificultad es medio - alto pues tiene varios tramos complicados y zonas inundables resbaladizas. Recomendada para niños mayores de 6 años y personas con buena salud física. Transcurre a las orillas del Río de Anna y en ella podremos disfrutar de tres preciosos saltos de agua.

Fundada en el 1255 por el rey Alfonso X, la ciudad de ciudad real es originaria del cercano cerro de Alarcos, un asentamiento cuyos orígenes se remontan a la época de los íberos y que posteriormente fue trasladada y que hoy día es un enclave arqueológico. Con el nombre inicial de Villa Real, dicha población ocupó una antigua aldea, la cual se amplió con un trazado medieval y se rodeó de una muralla con 130 torreones y 7 puertas. La ciudad aún mantiene buena parte de las características de aquel trazado aunque apenas queda nada de lo que podría ser la Ciudad Vieja salvo algunas puertas y un corto trazado de la muralla medieval. Con 75K habitantes, Ciudad Real es una población acogedora que pasa desapercibida para el turismo de forma injusta ya que posee un gran listado de lugares patrimoniales y culturales que merecen una oportunidad. ¿No conoces Ciudad Real? Las grullas y otras aves invernantes serán las protagonistas durante el otoño y el invierno. y en primavera y verano se unirán aves nuevas provenientes de África.
Sólo hay que pasear por los caminos públicos de esta comarca muy atentos a una gran variedad de aves.

Subida al Monte Abantos por el GR-10 desde la Presa del Romeral | San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid
El Monte Abantos es una de las montañas más emblemáticas del Norte de Madrid. Situado en la Sierra de Guadarrama y con una altura de 1753 m. le convierte en un pico frecuentado por los senderistas y ciclistas. La cima nos regala unas increíbles vistas de San Lorenzo de El Escorial y del Monasterio de El Escorial así como de toda la Sierra de Guadarrama. Desde el Parking de Abantos o de la Presa del Romeral subiremos por su ladera siguiendo el sendero GR-10, marcado con marcas blancas y rojas. El regreso lo haremos por la ladera sur, completando una ruta circular de casi 14 km.
Monte Abantos is one of the most emblematic mountains in the North of Madrid. Located in the Sierra de Guadarrama and with a height of 1753 m. makes it a peak frequented by hikers and cyclists. The top gives us incredible views of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the Monastery of El Escorial as well as the entire Sierra de Guadarrama. From the Parking de Abantos or the Presa del Romeral we will go up its slope following the GR-10 path, marked with white and red markings. We will return along the southern slope, completing a circular route of almost 14 km.

Subida al monte Abantos por Hayedo escondido.
Zambullirse en el interior de un hayedo es como pasear en medio del escenario de un cuento de hadas, tiene algo especial, regatos de aguas cristalinas, rocas tapizadas por espesos mantos de musgos, setas, una luz tamizada por el toldo de las hojas...solo faltan los duendes y las hadas.
Se dice que el Hayedo de Montejo de la Sierra es el más meridional de Europa. No es cierto, el más meridional del continente está en la isla de Sicilia. Tampoco es el más meridional de España; en Beceite, al sur de la provincia de Tarragona, pervive el hayedo español más sureño. Pero es que ni siquiera es el hayedo más meridional de Madrid, hay un bosquete de hayas todavía más sureño que cuelga de una de las laderas más umbrías del Monte Abantos, su secreto mejor guardado, en San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
No llega a ser un hayedo propiamente dicho, se trata más bien de un pequeño bosquete de unas 50 ó 60 hayas que fue plantado antaño, en medio del Pinar de Abantos, un pinar asediado por varios incendios forestales. Pero no deja de ser todo un lujo disponer de unas hayas tan cerca de casa, en un lugar donde no deberían existir, en unas montañas donde los hayedos desaparecieron hace mucho tiempo.
