Hi everyone today I walk in Maçka democracy park in Istanbul
Maçka Democracy Park is the park built on Kadırgalar Valley (Harbiye Congress Valley) in Istanbul. It covers a large area between Dolmabahçe, Maçka, Nişantaşı and Harbiye.

In Maçka Democracy Park, there are two sports equipment parks, two children's playgrounds, two coffeehouses and a restaurant, an artificial island and a total of nine artificial pools.
It is one of the places frequented by amateur and professional photographers, especially at sunset and snowy weather.
Maçka Democracy Park is one of the parks rich in vegetation. In the park, there are hundreds of different plants besides Linden, Poplar, Hornbeam, Chestnut, Oak, Acacia, Plane Tree, Boxwood, Alder, Walnut and Ash trees.
Around it are buildings such as the Hilton Hotel, Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center, Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater, Maçka Weapon House (ITU Maçka Campus) and Vodafone Park.
***History***
The first information about the valley where Maçka Democracy Park is located is found in the middle of the 19th century. This region, which is adorned with small huts with dense woods and defined as a valley with a stream flowing next to it, is thought to be used as a horse riding, picnic and promenade area. There is also information that during these periods, boat trips were organized in the river flowing next to the park.
It is stated that those who come to Nilüfer Hatun Konakları and its surroundings, located in the area where today's Teşvikiye Mosque and Nilüfer Hatun Primary School are located, pass through this valley, take a break here and drink water from the stream.
In the early 1970s, this area became a feared area, especially because it was used as a haunt and accommodation for homeless people. It has spread to the language that the children escaping from the Artigiana Workers' House in Harbiye started to live here and especially frightened the people passing by at night.

Upon the complaints of the people, a large-scale rehabilitation work was carried out here, and the little huts, which were accepted as Witch Houses, mostly used as shelter by homeless people, were demolished.
This area, which stands out as a forest area with a sewage stream flowing next to it in the early 1990s [citation needed] and which is called love park where lovers meet among the people, was restored in 1993 and the word democracy was added to its name. A cable car connecting the Beyoğlu Marriage Office and the park was built. Although the park has undergone some changes after this date, its general appearance has been preserved.
As the garbage problem emerged in Maçka Democracy Park, especially recently, [citation needed], two astro pitches in the park, which were thought to be the cause of this problem, were demolished and replaced by sports equipment.
In addition, the police patrols in the park in order not to shelter homeless people and to avoid disturbing those who visit.
The park is one of the most visited areas in Istanbul, with sports equipment areas, playgrounds and lined pools, over which the cable car lines pass.

Hey guys, its time for another travel vlog, and today am here in Istanbul, and for those of you who have seen my previous videos, you must have seen my 6 hours trip in Istanbul, which was a pretty quick one just covering the main sights of Istanbul during a long connecting flight purposely taken on my way back from Kazakhstan. The suites are nice, especially with the built in sauna. The service was to the level of Park Hyatt.
The hotel has a nice lobby area with a bar and lounge, and the level above has the restaurant and outdoor pool.
The rooms are nice, modern with a touch of the building's heritage. If you book the premium rooms you get your own Turkish hammam, steam room and well as both a tub and rainsky shower. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Overall a great hotel, it is hard to leave and easy to come back to.

The Maçka Gondola, Maçka – Taşkışla Aerial Cable Car, Maçka is a two-station gondola-type line of aerial lift passenger transport system situated in Şişli district of Istanbul, Turkey. Opened on April 11, 1993, the 333.5 m (1,094 ft) long line connects Maçka neighborhood with Taşkışla quarter close to Taksim Square. It is operated under the line number Tf1 by Istanbul Transport Company, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.The fare is paid by the contactless smart card of Istanbulkart, which is valid at all public transport in Istanbul.
The gondola line was constructed to provide easy access between Maçka and Taşkışla, two localities in the center of the city separated from each other by a 42 m (138 ft) deep green valley. They are normally connected by a long horse-shoe formed drive around the valley, which contains the Maçka Democracy Park and the Beyoğlu Marriage Office. While the Maçka Station is a gateway to the upscale neighborhoods Teşvikiye and Nişantaşı, the Taşkışla Station is in walking distance to Taksim Square. There exist campuses of the Istanbul Technical University on both sides of the valley as well as a number of five-star hotels like ParkSA Hilton Hotel, Swissôtel Istanbul The Bosphorus Hotel at the Maçka side and Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, Hyatt Regency, Divan Istanbul at the Taşkışla side. The Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre is situated close to the Taşkışla Station.

About Nişantaşı:
Nişantaşı is a residential quarter in the Şişli district on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. Nişantaşı quarter has four neighbourhoods: Teşvikiye, Maçka, Osmanbey and Pangaltı. The centre of the Nişantaşı quarter is at the neighbourhood of Teşvikiye, which is separated from the neighbourhood of Osmanbey to the west by the Vali Konağı Avenue and Rumeli Avenue. Osmanbey is separated from the Pangaltı neighbourhood further to the west by the busy Halaskargazi Avenue in Şişli. The neighbourhood of Maçka is immediately to the south of Teşvikiye. Nişantaşı is a popular shopping quarter, full of boutiques, department stores, cafés, pubs, restaurants and night clubs.[1] Many of the streets are still full of fine 19th and early 20th-century apartment blocks. Directly to the south lies the large and wooded Maçka Park, and to the east the Beşiktaş district.
Nişantaşı provides the backdrop for several novels by Nobel laureate Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk, a local resident for many years. Journalist Ece Temelkuran compared the neighbourhood to Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
The nearest metro stop to the central part of the Nişantaşı quarter is the Osmanbey metro station on the M2 line. Many bus and dolmuş services plough up and down Halaskargazi Avenue, linking Nişantaşı to Taksim and Mecidiyeköy.
