Places to see in ( Trowbridge - UK )

Places to see in ( Trowbridge - UK )

Trowbridge is the county town of Wiltshire, England on the River Biss in the west of the county, 8 miles south east of Bath, Somerset, from which it is separated by the Mendip Hills, which rise 3 miles to the west.

Long a market town, the Kennet and Avon canal runs to the north of Trowbridge and played an instrumental part in the town's development as it enabled coal to be transported from the Somerset Coalfield and so marked the advent of steam-powered manufacturing in woollen cloth mills. The town of Trowbridge was foremost producer of this mainstay of contemporary clothing and blankets in south west England in the late 18th and early 19th centuries by which time it held the nickname The Manchester of the West.

The parish encompasses the settlements of Longfield, Lower Studley, Upper Studley, Studley Green and Trowle Common. Adjacent parishes include Staverton, Hilperton, West Ashton, North Bradley, Southwick and Wingfield; nearby towns are Bradford on Avon, Westbury, Melksham, Frome and Devizes.

There is much of architectural interest in Trowbridge, including many of the old buildings associated with the textile industry, and the Newtown conservation area, a protected zone of mostly Victorian houses. The town has six Grade I listed buildings, being St James' Church, Lovemead House and numbers 46, 64, 68 and 70, Fore Street.

Trowbridge railway station was opened in 1848 on the Westbury–Bradford-on-Avon section of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway. Today this line forms part of both the Wessex Main Line (Bristol–Westbury–Southampton) and the Heart of Wessex Line (Bristol–Westbury–Weymouth), while the original route to Melksham, Chippenham and Swindon is used by the TransWilts service. Other services from Trowbridge join the Great Western main line at Bath and Chippenham, or join the Reading to Taunton line at Westbury.

Trowbridge is about 18 miles (29 km) from junction 18 of the M4 motorway (Bath) and the same distance from junction 17 (Chippenham). The A361 runs through the town, connecting it to Swindon to the north-east and Barnstaple to the south-west, while the north-south A350 primary route to Poole passes close to the town.

Within Trowbridge Castle was a 10th-century Anglo-Saxon church. Henry de Bohun turned this to secular use and instead had a new church built outside the Castle; this was the first St James' Church. In the base of the tower of the present day church, below the subsequently added spire, can be seen the Romanesque architecture of the period.

( Trowbridge - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Trowbridge . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Trowbridge - UK

Places to see in ( Darlington - UK )

Places to see in ( Darlington - UK )

Darlington is a large market town in County Durham, in North East England, and part of the Tees Valley. Darlington lies on the River Skerne, a tributary of the River Tees.

Darlington owes much of its development to the influence of local Quaker families in the Georgian and Victorian era, and who provided much of the finance and vision in creating the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world's first steam locomotive powered, permanent passenger railway. The town of Darlington is often colloquially referred to as 'Darlo'.

Darlington is located in south Durham close to the River Tees which acts as the border between Durham and Yorkshire. Both the River Tees and River Skerne pass through the town, the River Skerne later joining the River Tees which then flows through Teesside and into the North Sea. Darlington railway station lies on the East Coast Main Line. There are also local services from the historic North Road railway station and associated Darlington Railway Centre and Museum. Neighbouring towns include Newton Aycliffe, Stockton and Bishop Auckland.

There are several suburbs of Darlington. In the north are Harrowgate Hill, Harrowgate Village, Coatham Mundeville and Beaumont Hill and to the north-east are Whinfield and Haughton Le Skerne. To the east is the suburb of Eastbourne and Red Hall with Firthmoor and Skerne Park to the south. Situated in the west end are Hummersknott, Mowden and Blackwell. Finally, to the north-west are Branksome, Cockerton, Faverdale, The Denes, West Park, High Grange and Pierremont.

Todmorden Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Lying at one of the most westerly points in Yorkshire, around 3 miles away from the border to Lancashire, is the town of Todmorden.

The name Todmorden first appears in 1641 and is believed to mean 'Totta’s boundary-valley', probably in reference to the valley running northwest from the town. Geographically the town is located at the convergence of three steep-sided Pennine valleys, making it a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.

Before the Industrial Revolution, Todmorden was a small but prosperous woollen textile producing village using the streams from surrounding hills to fuel the mills. With the construction of the Rochdale Canal in 1804 and the main line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway in 1841, Todmorden became a key industrial town. A switch from wool to cotton brought about the construction of many grand Victorian mills in the area.

Despite a centuries-old rivalry between the counties of Yorkshire and Lancashire, stemming from the Wars of the Roses in the 15th century, Todmorden switched from Lancashire to West Yorkshire (or West Riding of Yorkshire as it was then known) in 1888. And yet it has a Rochdale dialling code and an Oldham postcode!

There's a lot to see on a trip to London, and especially on your first trip to the city. Taking a bus is one of the easiest ways to get a good view of London without much hassle or expense; all you have to do is find out which route you want to take and then leave the driving to them while you gawk at the scene. London is covered by more than 700 bus routes, and many travel past some of the city's iconic sights. As a bonus, many of the buses are double-deckers, and what a great view you'll get on the upper deck.

London buses no longer accept cash fares, so you will need an Oyster card loaded with sufficient credit or a travelcard. You could also consider using a contactless payment card to pay for London transport

If you are short on time and want to guarantee that you see all of the big sights in London, your best bet is the classic Big Bus Tours circular route.Today I am please to introduce you with route E1,what a great opportunity, please don't miss it out and watch till the end. There is the bus stops in case you need it,please have a look and find out where you exactly are located. You can tap on exact time and with doing that you will transfer to that particular moment.
