Kayah State ကယားပြည်နယ်
Kayah State(Burmese: ကယားပြည်နယ်, formerly, Karenni State) is a state of Myanmar.
Situated in eastern Myanmar, it is bounded on the north by Shan State, on the east by Thailand's Mae Hong Son Province, and on the south and west by Kayin State.
The area is 11,670 km2 (4,510 sq mi). Its capital is Loikaw (also spelt Loi-kaw).

Myanmar's largest hydropower plant built (by the Japanese as war reparation) is located about 20 km east of Loikaw at Lawpita Falls.

Thiri Mingala Hill (Taunggwe) Pagoda - Kayah State

The Taung Kwe Pagoda (သီရိမင်္ဂလာတောင်ကွဲစေတီတော်) lies in the south of Loikaw, Kayah State, atop Thirri Mingala Hill, that has nine peaks on nine broken hills.
It was called Mingala Hill, Phawmye in Kayah, Taunggwe in Myanmar, and Loi Pha Phat in Shan.
It is 387 feet high.

Htee Sel Khar waterfall|Htee Se Khar Waterfall

The most accessible and popular waterfalls is located 15 miles in the north of Loikaw, near Shan-Kayah border, on the road towards Se Saing and Taunggyi.
About 45 minutes north of town, Htee Sel Khar waterfall is enormously popular with locals and it’s easy to see why:
It’s gob-smackingly gorgeous, with its turquoise-green waters, lush vegetation and dramatic cascading falls.

KAYAN LONG-NECK TRIBE????-Welcome to Loi Kaw | Kayah State, Myanmar | EP04
Welcome to Loi Kaw in the Kayah State of Myanmar. Here we meet the Kayan LONG-NECK TRIBE PEOPLE.
We went to three villages in the Kayah State of Myanmar, most prominent of all them being the Pan-Pet village where Padaung women live. These women wear brass rings on their necks which weight from 10kg to 20kg, for their lifetime.
I was happy to know about the practice of Community-based tourism (CBT) that is being followed in these villages and the other two being, Hta nee La Leh and a Pa'O village.
Then we also went to see two interesting caves around the Loi Kaw region apart from enjoying our time knowing people at the local market, night market and relishing a Burmese platter.

???? The river's main source is situated in Inle Lake, Shan State, Myanmar and passes through Moebyel Mega Dam.
???? It continuously flows towards the south and crosses Kayah State at about 60 miles mark in Loikaw.
???? The river with its slow-moving, sparkling and picturesque turquoise water serves as the life source of local people in Loikaw Township, Kayah State, Myanmar.
???? Due to its hilly terrain, a couple of inconceivably beautiful and gushing waterfalls have emerged along the BaluChaung River.
???? Confluence of the turquoise Balu Chaung and brownish yellow Nam Pawn River converges into the Thanlyin River.
???? The Thanlyin River (Salween River) is about 2,815 kilometers long, starting from Tibetan Plateau passing through China, Myanmar and Thailand into the Andaman Sea.

I have been wanting to travel to Myanmar since a long while, and finally it happened in Dec 2019.
I will be sharing my experience in two part (this being the second) as it was a 20 day long trip. We started from Kolkata to Yangon by flight, further taking buses to all other places throughout Myanmar.
We visited Loikaw and Hpa An in thesecond half of the trip where we managed Hpa An on our own and tour in Loikaw was organised by Beyond Boundaries
