10 Most Dangerous Places to Live in England [Buglaries]

Where are the most dangerous places to live in England? For yet another time, let us talk about the most dangerous places to live in England. Well, this may not be the first time you’re watching a video or reading an article on this subject. You probably have seen something similar, even on our channel. Why then are we doing this again? For one thing, this video is going to be a unique discussion focusing on a specific crime that is making places it highlights dangerous. We’re examining places in the United Kingdom based on their burglary rates. From that, we come out with this list of the 10 most dangerous places to live in England for burglaries. This is based on the research done by a credible paper The Mirror.
One more thing, please! As we reel out those figures, please bear in mind what burglary is in this categorization. It is different from other crimes that have been categorized under bicycle theft, robbery, theft from the person, shoplifting, carjacking, and other forms of robbery. The burglary rate we are recording here refers to an act of forcefully and illegally entering a building to commit theft. This video will highlight the rate of this in these places refers to as the 10 most dangerous for burglary in England. Now, let us start.
10. Hammersmith and Fulham
Registered as the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, it is a borough in West London. But it also forms part of Inner London. Formed in 1965, Hammersmith and Fulham was from the merger of the former Metropolitan Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham. It borders Brent to the north, Wandsworth to the south, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to the east, Hounslow and Ealing to the west, and Richmond upon Thames to the southwest.
In 2017, the rate of burglary in this place was 7.46 per 1,000 people. In 2018, it was 7.74 per 1,000. In 2019, it was 7.17. It was 5.81 in 2020 and 6.00 in 2021. Interestingly, the most common crime in Hammersmith and Fulham is not burglary. Violence and sexual offenses are the most common with a crime rate of 30 per 1,000.
9. Stockport
This town in Greater Manchester is located 11 kilometers southeast of Manchester of which it is a borough. It is also 14 kilometers southwest of Ashton-under-Lyne and 19 kilometers north of Macclesfield. This is a place where the River Goyt and Tame merge to form the River Mersey. We are interested in this town because of its high burglary rate which makes it one of the most dangerous places to live.
Oh! Let us quickly tell you that this ranking also relies on a study conducted by the credible website confused.com which contains an analysis of police figures across the country focusing on burglary rates between 2017 and 2021. Now back to Stockport; in 2017, the burglary rate was 9.7 in 1,000. It was 7.69 in 2018 and 6.10 in 2021. We do not have the figures for 2019 and 2020.
8. Birmingham
Birmingham, a city in the West Midlands is the next. It does not have a good reputation in terms of crime and safety. It is one of the 10 most dangerous among the West Midlands 44 villages, towns, and cities. In 2021, the crime rate in the town was 137 crimes per 1000 residents.
While burglary is not the commonest crime in this city, its rate there is higher than those in many cities. So far, 9,101 burglaries have been reported in Birmingham in 2022 giving the rate of 7.84 in 1,000. With this figure, it is 22 percent more dangerous than West Midlands for burglary. The 2022 rate is also higher than that of the three previous years reported, namely 6.20 in 2021, 6.13 in 2020, and 7.3 in 2019. The year 2018 has the highest rates in recent years with 8.47 crimes per 1,000 people while it was 7.77 in 2017.

Joolz Guides retraces the steps of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as he visits the ministry of magic, the leaky cauldron, diagon alley and more on this tour of the London film locations!

Did you know that they actually used three different locations in London for The Leaky Cauldron. One is in Borough Market in The Prisoner of Azkaban, one is in Charing Cross Road and the first one used in The Philosophers Stone (The Sorcerors Stone) is in Leadenhall Market.

The divination stairway where Hermione wknocks the crystal ball down is in St Paul's Cathedral and we also go past the Millenium Bridge which the death eaters destroyed in Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. From London Bridge you get a good view of the route that HArry , Hermione and Ron Weasley took as they fly towards Grimauld Place on their brook sticks.

Joolz apparates to Piccadilly Circus just like in the Deathly Hallows and also nearly goes under a bus! London Video Tour: Lambeth

In this video tour New York Habitat ( explores London’s thriving Lambeth neighborhood!

On the tour, David Hill will visit some of the most iconic and popular locations in London. Once a medieval Viking port, Lambeth is now internationally famous for its landmarks and history. Lambeth includes local area hotspots on the South Bank of the River Thames (opposite Westminster), including Waterloo, the Southbank Center, the London Aquarium, the London Eye, and Lambeth Palace. Further south you’ll see Clapham Common on the border of Wandsworth. Learn more about Lambeth on our blog:

Geographically speaking, Lambeth is three miles wide and seven miles long, though most people are only familiar with the northern edge. This video covers the area between Westminster Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge, as well as half of Clapham Commons. Are you looking for an apartment in the area? Consider our long-term rentals:

Waterloo Station

The busiest travel terminal in London, Waterloo Station hosts over 90 million people every year. The building was inaugurated in 1922 but the site has been a rail station since 1848. It’s also connected to the London Underground by three separate lines running beneath it.

Southbank Center

Known worldwide as world-class center of the arts, at 21 acres Southbank Center is Europe’s largest center for the arts. Some of the more notable concert halls include the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Haywood Gallery. It’s a great place to take the kids.

London Aquarium

Have you ever wanted to swim with sharks? How about feed them? At the London Aquarium you can! It’s the kind of activity kids can get excited about, and despite the way it sounds it’s perfectly safe – the sharks are small varieties. However, for those who don’t want to risk it there’s also turtle feeding.

London Eye

It’s the second-tallest viewing point in London and the largest Ferris Wheel in Europe. Drawing over 3.5 million visitors per year, it’s also the most popular tourist attraction in the entire UK. See for yourself in one of the 32 passenger capsules, and experience London in a truly unforgettable way. Or better yet, pop in for a visit with one of our nearby vacation rental apartments:

Lambeth Palace

Who has the oldest house in town? The Archbishop of Canterbury would give you a run for your money, as Lambeth Palace has been the traditional Archbishop’s seat since the last crusades of the 13th century. Take the kids to the nearby Archbishop’s park for a round of cricket or tennis, then hope on over to Westminster just across the river.

Clapham Common

For a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Londontown, consider visiting Clapham Common. This 220 acre park is known for its lovely scenery and soothing atmosphere. It’s a great place to go for a midafternoon stroll or just to admire the quieter side of London.

We hope you enjoyed this tour of London’s Lambeth neighborhood. To see more, check out our blog at: and let us know which of these spots is your favorite!

The London Eye Complete Tour | Amazing Views Across London (Feb 2022) [4K]

[4K] The London Eye, join us on Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel as we take in the breath-taking views across London's iconic skyline on this beautiful clear day

The London Eye is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom and on this good clear day you can see some of London's most famous landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, BT Tower, Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth Clock Tower (Big Ben), Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's, The Tate Museum, Tower Bridge, The Shard and of course the beautiful Thames River sparkling in the sunlight.

The London Eye is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft) and is located on the South Bank of the River Thames between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge beside County Hall in the London Borough of Lambeth. The attraction is accessible from several tube stations including Waterloo, Westminster, Charing Cross and Embankment.

It was designed by the husband and wife team of Julia Barfield and David Marks of Marks Barfield Architects and was formally opened by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair on 31st December 1999. However, it did not open to the paying public until 9 March 2000 because of a capsule clutch problem. Originally intended to be only a temporary attraction to celebrate the millennium, operators submitted an application to Lambeth Council to give the London Eye permanent status and the application was granted in July 2002.

The London Eye is currently operated by Merlin Entertainments and sponsored by lastminute.com. Previous sponsors have been Coca-Cola and British Airways, who were the original owners.

As of Feb 2022, the price of a single standard ticket is £27 with usual opening hours 11:00 to 18:00. Combination tickets are available with deals for multiple attractions including Sea Life London, Shrek's Adventure, The London Dungeon and Madame Tussauds.

The London Eye is part of the Merlin Annual Pass attractions and pass holders can experience the London Eye for free with their pass.

10 Most Dangerous Boroughs in London - Burglaries

What are the most dangerous areas in London? Some people are dying to live in London and this is understandable. London is one of the most developed and sophisticated cities. It is a place with all amenities of life. Surely, if you can work around the high cost of living, London is a great place to live. But wait a minute! What about the crime rate? In truth, London's crime rates make it a relatively dangerous city. If you have access to the figures n the reports about the incidences of burglary alone, you might be scared. Nevertheless, we have found that it’s not every borough in London that is dangerous. To convince you, this video will show you the 10 most dangerous boroughs in London for burglaries.
10. Wandsworth
Wandsworth Town, a district of south London, is within the London Borough of Wandsworth. In 2021, the overall crime rate there was 75 crimes per 1,000 people. While this might be lower than the overall crime rate in London during the same period, it’s not so safe for burglary.
Wandsworth in June 2021 was the most dangerous district in London for burglary, having the worst rate for this crime. That month, it reported 223 burglaries. It reported a crime rate of 6 per 1,000 workday people in 2017, 6.6 in 2018, 6.35 in 2019, 5.63 in 2020, and 5.2 in 2021. In 2021, it reported a total of 2,218 burglaries with a rate of 6.73. This makes it 15 percent more dangerous than London for burglary.
9. Lewisham
Lewisham, a London borough in south-east London forming part of Inner London had an overall crime rate of 85 crimes per 1,000 people in 2021. That places it in a fair 20th position among the 32 boroughs with a crime rate 1.5 percent lower than London's rate.
However, it’s not so safe for crimes like burglary. Our primary sources give Lewisham’s crime rate as 5.95 per 1,000 in 2017, 7.2 in 2018, 7.03 in 2019, 6.33 in 2020, and 5.32 in 2021. This source ranks Lewisham as the most dangerous for burglary in London in June 2020 with 215 burglaries reported. In 2022, the borough had 2,036 burglaries at the rate of 6.66 per 1,000. In 2021, it was 8 per 1,000, 9 in 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.
8. Islington
Islington, a district in the north of Greater London is a part of the London Borough of Islington. That is the next of the 10 most dangerous boroughs in London not only for burglary but also for other crimes. In 2021, the overall crime rate in the borough was 102 crimes per 1,000 people which was 18 percent higher than the London case.
As for the burglary rate in Islington, it was 5.33 per 1,000 in 2021, 5.96 in 2020, 7.54 in 2019, 8.62 in 2018, and 6.92 in 2017. Another source puts the 2022 burglary rate in Islington at 7.38 with 1,789 crimes reported. In previous years, it was 11 per 1,000 in 2020 and 2019, 9 per 1,000 people in 2018, and 7 in 2017.
7. Lambeth
Lambeth, a district in South London is in the London Borough of Lambeth. The overall crime rate in this borough in 2021 was 11 percent higher than the London rate. Lambeth had 103 crimes per 1,000 people. It’s the 23rd most dangerous in the UK and the 707th most dangerous out of all cities, towns, and villages in the country.
The burglary rate in Lambeth in 2017 was 5.44 per 1,000 residents. It was 6.05 in 2018, 7.32 in 2019, 7.29 in 2020, and 6.7 in 2021. According to another statistics, the borough reported 2,219 burglaries in 2022 giving the rate of 6.81 per 1,000. Yet another stat says the rate was 10 in both 2021 and 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.
6. Southwark
Southwark in Central London forms the north-western part of what’s known as the wider modern London Borough of Southwark. In 2021, the overall crime rate in Southwark was 98 crimes per 1,000 people which compares poorly to London's overall crime rate, about 13 percent higher. It’s even more dangerous for burglary.
This borough recorded 212 burglaries during May 2021, making its burglary crime rate the worst in London that month. It has 5.55 burglaries per 1000 residents in 2021, 5.87 in 2020, 7.21 in 2019, 6.63 in 2018, and 7.02 in 2017. Another statistics reveals that Southwark recorded 2,339 burglaries in 2021 at the rate of 7.34 per 1,000 people. The same data shows that it had 10 burglaries per 1,000 persons in 2021 and 2020, 8 in 2019, and 7 in 2018.
