Kayseri is an old and large city with a strong economy. It carries lots of monuments from the days of Seljuks and Ottomans, and is also the home town of the most accomplished architect Mimar Sinan. Population has been steadily increasing and nowadays is around 950,000 in the urban center.
Kayseri was also on the Silk Route and Karatay and Sultanhanı posts on this route reside in Bünyan town's borders. Bünyan is also famous for its carpets which makes Kayseri a popular purchase-stop for tourists visiting Cappadocia.

Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have daily flights from Istanbul to Kayseri. Sun Express airlines has daily flights from Izmir and from Antalya to Kayseri.
Beside the domestic flights there are also direct international flights to Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Vienna by Pegasus, Onur and Oger respectively.
By train
Trains run daily from Ankara to Kayseri, taking 7 hours. There are couchettes and a sleeping car; some trains have a buffet. They continue east to Sivas then, depending on the day of the week:
via Malatya and Elazig to Tatvan (the Vangölü Express), with dolmus connections to Van, for the train to Tabriz and Tehran.
via Malatya to Diyarbakir and Kurtalan (the Guney Kurtalan Express);
via Erzurum to Kars (the Dogu Express)
Eat
Kayseri Mantısı is the most famous dish Kayseri is known for. It's made from minced meat, wrapped in tiny bits of dough and boiled. It's served with a special sauce and yogurt. It's pretty difficult to find a restaurant to eat it as locals always eat this at home and they are prepared much better. However, Kaşık-la has now established a well deserved name in the city also for locals and if you can't get a local to invite you home, is definitely worth trying.
Pastırma is Kayseri's another well-known product. It's dried, salted beef covered with çemen, prepared by a special process. Pastırma is served both as a spicy starter or used in dishes (e.g. in pastırmalı kuru fasulye) or böreks. Kayseri is the major source of production in Turkey. If cannot afford the restaurants, try buying 100 grams from a large supermarket or from old shops in the old shopping district behind the castle (Kale).
İskender is a kebap variant, named after its inventor (Turkish variant of Alexander). Its meat is prepared similar to that of döner, but is served in dish, and with a butter sauce on the top. Although others come quite close, a local restaurant called İskender is the best place to eat this, and is located on the opposite side of Hunat Hatun Camii

Doğu Ekspresi' ne Büyük Rakip - İZMİR MAVİ TRENİ’nde Yataklı Vagonla İzmir Yolculuğu
İzmir Mavi Treni ile yataklı vagonda Ankara' dan İzmir' e gittim. Doğu Ekspresi gibi uzun bir yolculuğa çıkmak istemeyenler için alternatif bir rota olan İzmir Mavi Treni yol boyunca sunduğu manzalar ile muhteşem bir deneyim yaşatıyor. Hem yol boyunca manzalar hem de bilet bulmanın kolay olması sebebiyle Doğu Ekspresi' ne dişli bir rakip olan İzmir Mavi Treni videomda İzmir Mavi Tren turu yaparak vagonları gezdim. Ayrıca çokça merak edilen yataklı vagonu da anlattım.

1- Işık hadisesinin yaşandığı yer ve mekanizması
Dünyada benzeri olmayan ışık hadisesinin geçmişi 1734 yılına dayanıyor. İbrahim Hakkı Hazretleri, hocası İsmail Fakirullah’ın vefatı üzerine “Hocamın başucuna doğmayan güneşi neyleyim?” diyerek astronomi ve mimari açıdan büyük bir bilim harikasına imza atıyor. Hocasının defnedildiği türbenin yanı sıra 8 köşeli ve 10 mt. yüksekliğinde bir kule yapan İbrahim Hakkı Hazretleri, türbenin doğusuna harçsız taşlarla bir duvar inşa ediyor. Gece ve gündüzün eşit olduğu ekinoks günlerinde (21 Mart ve 23 Eylül) kalenin arkasındaki vadiden yükselen güneş bu duvara çarpıyor. Kaleden geçemediği için Tillo şehrine ışık gitmiyor. Işık sadece duvarda bulunan pencereden geçiyor. İlerde bulunan bir tepeden kırılıyor. Arkasından da türbenin penceresinden içeri girerek, İsmail Fakirullah Hazretleri’nin mezarının başını aydınlatıyor.
2- İbrahim Hakkı Hazretleri türbesi
İsmail Fakirullah Hazretleri: Hicri 1067 yılında dünyaya gelmiştir. Genç yaşta babasını kaybetmiş, kendisi Müderrislik ve İmamlık yapmıştır. 40 Yaşında kemale ermiştir. İsmail Fakirullah Hazretleri bir yandan insanlara irşat ta bulunurken diğer yandan da beşeri ilimlerde de çok önemli bilim adamları yetiştirmiştir. Bunlardan biri de Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı Hazretleridir. Hadis ve Fıkıhta, tasavvuf ve edebiyatta, psikoloji ve sosyolojide, tıp ve astronomide ve pek çok bilim dalında büyük bir kudret ve yetenek göstermiştir.
Ulaşım: Siirt Merkezinden 7 km. uzaklıktaki Tillo (Aydınlar) İlçesinde bulunmaktadır.
3- Siirt Delikli Taş
Altından tüm haşmetiyle geçmekte olan Uluçay’a (Botan) tepeden kuşbakışı bakan Taşbaşı Mağarası, ziyaretçilerine eşsiz bir manzara sunmaktadır.Siirt’in 4 km. güneydoğusunda bulunan ve Uluçay’a (Botan) yaklaşık 350 metre yükseklikten bakan mağara, dik kireç taşlarının milattan önceki devirlerde oyulmasıyla oluşmuştur.
4- Siirt Tillo Kale ve Seyir Cam teras
Botan Vadisi’nin güzelliklerini ayaklar altına seren Cam Terasın vadiden yüksekliği 1.100 metre. Çelik konstrüksiyondan yapılan Terasın 7 metre uzunluğu ve 5 metre genişliği bulunmakta. Teras üzerinde bulunan korkulukların boyu ise 1.30 metre.
Ziyaret esnasında Teras üzerine en fazla 30 kişinin çıkmasına izin veriliyor.
5- Veysel Karani Türbesi
Veysel Karani Türbesi: Baykan ilçesinin Ziyaret Beldesindedir Yörenin Cas denilen harcıyla yapılıp Kubbe ile örtülmüş olan türbe, 1967 yılında yıktırılarak yerine yeni bir türbe yaptırılmıştır. Veysel Karani türbesi ve külliyesi 2001 yılında Valilikçe restore edilerek modern bir görünüme kovuşturulmuştur Her yıl 16-17 Mayıs tarihlerinde Veysel Karani‘yi anma etkinlikleri düzenlenmektedir
6- Siirt Demokrasi Meydanı

Herkese merhaba, Güney Ekspresiyle geldiğim Diyarbakır'dan Azerbaycan'da Berkoo'nun yanına kadar uzanan rotamın kısa bir özetiyle karşınızdayım. Diyarbakır'da dolu dolu iki gün geçirdim. Vlog çekmediğim için çok pişmanım. ama sizinle Azerbaycan'a kadar uzanan rotamdan kısaca bahsetmek istiyorum. Diyarbakır'dan Batman'a geçer geçmez, Hasankeyf'te yürüyüş rotasına katıldım
Oradan Şırnak'a geçip Gabar Dağı'nda da yürüyüş grubuna katıldım. Derken nasıl olduysa kendimi Hakkari'de buldum. Ve Hakkari'dan Van'a sonra Kars'a geçtim. Doğu Ekspresiyle Ankara
için bilet alsam da son dakika kararıyla Iğdır'a oradan otobüsle Nahçivan'a kimlikle giriş yaptım. 70 manata aldığım uçak biletiyle de Bakü'ye vardım. Bakü'den 10 manata otobüsle köylere geçiş yaptım. Yaklaşık 20 güne yakın Azerbaycan'da kalıp köy köy gezdik Berkoo'yla Tüm rota kendisinin Youtube kanalında. İzlediğiniz için çok teşekkür ederim.

Siirt Deliklitaş is both breathtaking with its view and fascinates the visitors. With a bird's-eye view of Uluçay, or Botan River, as it is known among the people, flowing beneath it with all its majesty, Taşbaşı Cave offers a unique view of exquisite beauty to the travelers who come to visit it. It is about 4 km from Siirt. Located in the southeast of Turkey and overlooking Uluçay (Botan) from a height of approximately 350 meters, this wonderful cave is a natural structure formed by carving the steep limestones in pre-Christian times. As a result of the researches carried out by scientists in the region, it is noticed that the inner wall of the cave, which was determined to be used for shelter, was excavated with hand strokes. A small window in both caves was opened to provide internal access between the caves. Right next to the cave, there is a vertically rising rock called a stepping stone; It got this name because the young people who came to visit this place jumped from one rock to another to prove their courage. The perforated stone, located right next to the large cave known as Taşbaşı, has a unique view. The pleasure of watching Uluçay, the Botan River, and the nature surrounding it, from below, is quite different.
