Our 4X4 Travels | Morgan Bay | Double Mouth Nature Reserve | Part 10
Morgan Bay Camp and Double Mouth Nature Reserve and camp site.
In this video we travel from the north of Natal all the way south to Kokstad where we stay overnight on a working farm. We then traverse the full length of the Transkei crossing the Kei River and arrive at Morgan Bay in the Eastern Cape. A delightful little village with the well known Morgan Bay Hotel. The camp sites is on the lagoon with a beautiful stretch of beach. This is a well worth visit if ever in this area.
Be sure to visit Double Mouth nature reserve while here. Stunning views and also the option of their campsite.

Two years ago I left the big city of Cape Town, towing my caravan and a speedboat with my lovely cat for company, never to return to the big city.

We took a short drive from Amanzimtoti to Durban and our anticipation for revisiting the city after so many years was palpable, only to be met with an unexpected amount of traffic. Navigating through the bustling harbour was a captivating experience, as massive trucks diligently transported their cargo. The drive along the renowned beachfront was a nostalgic delight, evoking a rush of fond memories. The enduring beauty of Durban's beachfront was heartening to witness. While our exploration of Mini Town was enjoyable, the inability to access uShaka Marine World proved a disappointment. Motorcycle trip around South Africa: Kokstad, Drummond, Drakensberg and back home to Pretoria
This is the last episode of this trip from Pretoria, through the Free State province, the little Karoo up to Stilbaai, then up the coast via Addo, Port St Johns, inland via Kokstad and Drakensberg back to Pretoria. I rode from a friend's place in Kokstad to Drummond where some other friends took me on some excursions around there. From Drummond I rode to Drakensberg to stay over for a night before heading home.

Exploring KwaZulu Natal Episode 3: Hermits Wood Campsite
Exploring KZN is an ongoing series capturing the beauty of our adventures, exploring the breath taking and diverse province of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.
Join our family of four as we traverse off-road trails to get to lesser seen hidden gems, wild camp in Safari bucket list Big 5 reserves, and stay in the high end luxury destinations of our province.
This is the third episode in our ongoing series of exploring the amazing province of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. This time, we visit Hermits Wood Campsite in the Maloti Drakensberg Park.
The campsite can be found right at the end of the road through Drakensberg Gardens Resort, at the foothills of the stunning mountains and at the base of the well known Rhino Horn Hike. The camp is not electrified, has basic ablution facilities, and with only around 10 sites, it is a very quiet and beautiful lesser-known spot.
Easy river access is great for hot summer days, and the facilities of the resort are open to the Hermits Wood Campers - so hiking, running, golfing, mountain biking and swimming pools are all easily accessible. But you can leave the busy resort life behind as and when you please to be nestled in the beautiful mountains!
The area boasts some amazing coffee spots and a day can be spent out of the camp, picnicking and river tubing.
Add Hermits Wood (otherwise known as Garden Castle Campsite) to your next Berg holiday itinerary, and see what we love about this secluded but all round awesome family spot!

Hluhluwe Bush Camp South Africa | Glamping in KZN
Glamping at Hluhluwe Bush Camp near the northern KZN town of Hluhluwe, South Africa. There are 5 self-catering glamping tents, as well as various other options, from traditional camping to the very cool Tipi tents.
The property is completely off the grid with solar panels, inverters, a generator and borehole water with a treatment plant. Hluhluwe Bush Camp is ideally located for exploring the area, being only 30 minutes from the awesome Hluhluwe Imfolozi National Park where you can see the big 5. It also overlooks, False Bay Park one of the 11 World Heritage Isimangaliso Parks, (meaning “Miracle and wonder”).
The town of Hluhluwe isn't far, but if you do happen to forget essentials, there is a farm stall that's stocked with all the basics, you can also get an excellent pizza and the pool is a great place to cool off on a hot day. If you are in the area, give them a call, you won't regret it.

Trucking Thru South Africa. . . Kokstad to Richmond thru the Natal Midlands.
Leaving a laybay 06:40 the morning just outside Kokstad I continued my journey to Durban thru the scenic natal midlands. Passing thru towns Umzimkulu, Ixopo and Richmond my video journey ended near the N3 Pietermaritsburg.
Being A trucker the road wines thru mountain passes and hills and and not being wide, it really test the skill of passing another truck.
