We made this video walking around the center of Aydın which is the capital of Aydın Province in the Aegean part of Turkey.
Aydın might not be well known to tourists but it's actually a great location to stop since there are many other interesting cities and sights nearby. Also, it has a really charming city center with nice cafes and shops and the people we met were really nice and smiling.
One thing we noticed immediately is how green the center is: everywhere you'll find trees and flowers.

The town of Foça is situated at about 69 km (43 mi) northwest of İzmir's city center. Göcek is a small town in Fethiye district in Muğla Province, Turkey.
Its site was occupied by the town of Callimache in ancient times, and is located between Fethiye – Telmessos in ancient times – and Dalyan – Caunos in ancient times. According to the legends, it is in the Göcek area that Icarus landed in the sea after his famous flight trying to escape from the tower where he was imprisoned. Göcek was used as a harbour for ships loading chrome ore collected from the mines under nearby mountains during the Ottoman period.
Today, Göcek hosts six significant marinas that serve the yacht tourism in the region: Club Marina, Skopea Marina, Municipality Marinas, Marinturk Göcek Village Port, Marinturk Göcek Exclusive and D-Marin Gocek. A prominent characteristic of the town is the fact that it harbors islands and coves located in a large and secluded bay. Owing to its location, it naturally enjoys a high potential for yacht tourism. In 1988, Göcek was declared a Registered Area of Special Protection. Therefore, multi-story buildings are not allowed, the tourist accommodation facilities are two-storied hotels, motels, apartment hotels, and pensions situated in the town center and its periphery. Göcek has all the necessary infrastructure, capacity, and amenities expected in a tourism center, yet it is renowned as a much more peaceful and quiet settlement than some other tourism areas.
The permanent population in Göcek is around 4,500. This number exceeds 7,000 during the summer months. Since Göcek is a departure and arrival point for Blue Cruises, there is heavy yacht traffic in the town harbor. With its secluded bay, the harbor is quiet and safe, especially for long-distance travelers arriving from international waters.
Göcek became known to groups of artists and poets and to some fisherman from Bodrum as a result of their cruising along the Turkish Turquoise Coast, a journey later called the “Blue Voyage”.

Adını yöre halkının göç zamanını hadi göçek şeklinde haberleşmesi sonucu zamanla alındığı rivayet edilir. T.C. Dahiliye Vekâleti, son taksimatı mülkiyede köylerimizin adları Ankara 1928 dizelgesinde KÖYCEK İSKELESİ olarak geçmektedir. Komşu köy Gökçeovacık, KÖYCEK OVASI olarak geçmektedir.
Yerleşik nüfusu 6.590 'dır. Yaz aylarında bu sayı 9,000 inin üzerine çıktığı düşünülmektedir. Mavi Yolculuk çıkış ve bitiş noktası olarak yoğun yat trafiğine sahiptir. Özellikle uluslararası sulardan gelen uzun yol gezginleri için kapalı körfezi ile sakin ve güvenli bir limandır. Temiz Akdeniz suları, yemyeşil çam ormanları ve plajları ile saklı bir cennet kabul edilen Koyları ve adaları ile deniz yolcuları için vazgeçilmez bir rota haline getirmiştir. Tatil amacı ile kara yolu ile gelen yerli ve yabancı turistlere hizmet verecek kapasitede kaliteli konaklama birimleri, günübirlik tekne turu hizmeti veren eğlenceli sahili ve yakın mesafelerdeki birçok plaj ve koyu ile tatilciler için değişik bir alternatiftir.
GYC tarafından her yıl 19 Mayıs ve 10 Kasım haftasında düzenlenen iki ayrı Regatta (yelken yarışı) yapılmaktadır. Yerli ve yabancı çok sayıda katılımcının yer aldığı yarışlar beldeye renk ve popülarite katmaktadır.
Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı (23 Nisan) kutlamalarıda şenlik havasına dönüşerek yıllar içerisinde kalıcı bir düzenleme haline gelmiştir. Her yıl 23 Nisan kutlamalarındaki etkinliklere katılmak ve izlemek amacı ile çevre beldelerden ziyaretçiler gelmekte.

Kaleiçi Cami
Öküz Mehmet Paşa tarafından 17.ci yy yaptırılmıştır. Kesme taşlarla inşaa edilen Camii Osmanlı mimarisinin en güzel örneklerden birisidir. Tarihten şimdiye kadar çok güzel bir şekilde korulunan Camii aktif olarak hizmet vermekte.
Kaleiçi Hamam
Kaleiçi camiden arka kapıdan çıkışımızda çok eski bir ev yapısı dikkatimizi çekti. Dış yapısı hiç el değmemiş ve arka tarafında olan bahçesi çok güzelidir Sokağın az ilerisinde olan Kaleiçi Hamam’ın çok eskiye dayanan bir tarihi olduğu için uğramadan geçemedik Kaleiçi hamamı içerisinde tarihimizi yansıtan bir ayna gibi yansıtıyor burayı fotoğrafla ile paylaşmak istedim, bizden tavsiye burasıda keşfetmeye değer bir yapı.

Kaleiçi sokaklarında mutlaka gezmeniz tavsiye ederim.Her sokak ayrı bir güzel alış veriş yapabilir yada yöresel halı yapımınız izleyebilirsiniz.Hediyelik eşyalar çok ilgi çekici tabaklar , ayakkabılar ve el sanatları işi yapan yerler bulmak mümkündür.Tarihi evleri çok sayıda bu evler günümüzde çok sayıda dükkan veya mekana çevrilmesine rağmen eski görünümünü korulmaktadır.
