Best places to visit

Solihull Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Solihull is located in the county of West Midlands, 7.5 miles/12km southeast of Birmingham. It is one of the most affluent towns in the UK outside of London, and once credited as best place to live in the United Kingdom according to the uSwitch Quality of Life Index in 2013.

Solihull's name is believed to be derived from 'soily hill', since the parish church, St Alphege, was built on a hill of stiff red marl, which turned to sticky mud in wet weather.

The town of Solihull was founded allegedly between 1170 and 1180 AD. Around the town are a few old timber-framed buildings, including Manor House - a genuine Tudor building dating from around 1495 AD. It is visible shortly after the 12-minute mark (see the timestamps below for details).

Solihull railway station opened in 1852, allowing manufacturers and business professionals from Birmingham to migrate here. The town received a surge in population in the 20th century, in part due to car manufacturer Rover opening a plant here shortly after the Second World War.

Famous people from Solihull include newsreader Michael Buerk, bodybuilder and six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates and Top Gear/The Grand Tour presenter Richard Hammond.

THE UK'S COOLEST CITY? (Bristol)

This week we leave the sunshine of Wales behind and head into Bristol. A long and hot car ride with some standstill traffic sees us cross into England before meeting up with Tom's brother, Merran. Isabel's brothers come round and we take off for a walk through St Werburghs to The Farm, a farm in the middle of the city with a great beer garden! We enjoy the quirky sites and street art before heading to pub number two, The Duke of York. We have a couple more beers and play some pool. We then head back to Merran and Emily's house where Merran cooks up a storm.
You then join us again a day later, we head out to meet up with Harry and explore the Clifton area of Bristol. We catch the train and stroll through Clifton Village, and rummage through some charity shops. We then head to the White Lion and have a beer over looking the Clifton suspension bridge. We are then joined by George and decide to have a walk over the bridge itself. We then wander into the city centre, en route, Isabel tries out Bristol's electric scooters (voi). We walk along the water front, eyeing up the houseboats and day dreaming about boatlife. Next, we hop in a taxi and head to Knowle to meet up with Isabel's sister and we meet her nephew for the first time. We then head out for pizza!
The next day Isabel heads out alone to meet up with her cousin who also live in Bristol. Their adventures take them back over the suspension bridge and into Leigh Woods, where a mistake with the mic leaves Tom in charge of dubbing the sound. The group then head back to Harry's for an evening of pasta and games. The next day is our last in Bristol and we make our way back to Cornwall.

Thank you very much for watching. I hope you enjoyed a little glimps into our time in Bristol as we catch up with family and see some of this fun city.

Stay tuned as next week we have an exciting episode planned! We have just finished planning our Cornwall series and it should be good fun.

Thank you so much for watching and we’re really excited that we have hit a huge milestone of 20,000 subscribers! Thank you for all your lovely comments and messages!

Take care
Iz and Tom xx

Places to see in ( Edgware - UK )

Places to see in ( Edgware - UK )

Edgware is a district of north London, in the London Borough of Barnet. Edgware is centred 9.5 miles north-northwest of Charing Cross and has its own commercial centre. Edgware has a generally suburban character, typical of the rural-urban fringe.

Edgware was an ancient parish in the county of Middlesex. The community benefits from some elevated woodland on a high ridge marking the Hertfordshire border of gravel and sand. Edgware is identified in the London Plan as one of the capital's 35 major centres. Edgware is principally a shopping and residential area and one of the northern termini of the Northern line.

Edgware has a bus garage, a shopping centre called the Broadwalk, a library, a hospital—Edgware Community Hospital, and two streams—Edgware Brook and Deans Brook, both tributaries of a small brook known as Silk Stream, which in turn merges with the River Brent at Brent Reservoir.

Edgware succeeds to the identity of the ancient parish in the county of Middlesex. Edgware is a Saxon name meaning Ecgi's weir. Ecgi was a Saxon and the weir relates to a pond where Ecgi's people caught fish. Edgware parish formed part of Hendon Rural District from 1894. It was abolished in 1931 and formed part of the Municipal Borough of Hendon until 1965. The Romans made pottery at Brockley Hill, thought by some to be the site of Sulloniacis. Canons Park, to the north-west, was developed as an estate by James Brydges, 1st Duke of Chandos and was the site of his great palace Cannons.

( Edgware - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Edgware . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Edgware - UK
