Kintampo waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in Bono East of Ghana. Also known as Sanders Falls during the colonial days, it is located on the Pumpum river, a tributary of the Black Volta, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Kintampo municipality, on the Kumasi–Tamale road. It is just after the Falls Rest Stop when moving Northwards, on the right side of the road. This waterfall, one of the main natural attractions in the area, is hidden in the forest and it is formed by three main drops where the longest drop measures 25 metres (82 ft) in height, and, after a number of steps and cascades, the river falls about 70 metres (230 ft). It takes its source at a village called Pumpumatifi, which is about 10 kilometers away from the waterfalls.

Kintampo waterfalls is a beautiful cascading waterfalls in Ghana. Also known as Sanders Falls during the colonial days, it is located on the Pumpum river, a tributary of the Black Volta, about 4 kilometres north of Kintampo municipality, on the Kumasi–Tamale road.
This seasonal fall is from the Pumpu River which falls some 70 meters down beautiful rocky steps. The Kintampo Waterfalls has a more festive environment with lots of locals on picnics and shade where visiting individuals and groups can sit and have fun There are lots of trees, mostly dominated by Mahogany, some of which grow beyond 40 meters.

Kintampo is a town and tourist destination in the Bono East Region of Ghana. It became the capital of Kintampo North Municipal in 2004. Kintampo has a population of 49,046. It also served as the capital of the former Kintampo District. Kintampo also has a Senior High School which is located at Kyeremankoma. There is a college of health called Kintampo College of Health and Well-being (CoHK) in the town. Most of the population in Kintampo are farmers, with production focused on yams, maize, legumes, tubers and other vegetables. The Deg[disambiguation needed] or Mo tribe are indigenous to the region. Kintampo is a cosmopolitan town, apart from the indigenous tribe, other tribes like the Wangaras, the Bonos, Gonjas , Konkombas and others are also inhabitants of the town. The annual Benkadi Kurubi festival of the Wangara community in Ghana always takes place at Kintampo.

About 173 meters above sea level, the water usually fall gently over a series of cascades along Oyoko River (tributary of the Black Volta). However, this video was shot in peak rainy season and the river and waterfalls were raging!
