The Most Out of Station Interchanges In One Journey

An OSI is an 'Out of Station Interchange' on the TfL Network where you can leave one station ... and walk to another but it charges as you as a continuation, rather than two separate fares.

There are only certain places on the system where you can do this, and I thought I'd try a journey that included as many as possible ... and explain how they worked as I went.

Can I get from Harrow & Wealdstone to Barking by a very convoluted route and only pay for one fare?

Emerson Park - Least Used Overground Station

The London Overground is the next line on the Tube Map for me to pay a visit to its least station ... and this time we head out to Zone 6 in east London where between Romford and Upminster is the single platform for the stop that is Emerson Park,.

But we're going on foot to get there ... by first going to find all the foot crossing that are along the branch line!

Least Used Station - London Waterloo

I can't believe we haven't got around to doing this one sooner! So it was time for me and Vicki to get along to London's least used station ... Waterloo, so see what limited facilities it has.

Website:

With thanks to Network Rail & SWR for their permission to film at ... this terribly small and underused station! ;-)

Millbrook Railway Station (Bedfordshire)***Bedfordshire least used railway station***(MLB)

Millbrook (Bedfordshire) is currently the least used railway station in Bedfordshire with 1,042 entries & exits in the latest passenger usage statistics from 2020/2021. Millbrook is not always the least used station in the county with other stations such as Kempston Hardwick also receiving few passengers.
Millbrook station has 2 platforms on a double track section of the Marston Vale line from Bedford to Bletchley (eventually East West rail). The line through the station is unelectrified with all services being diesel operated services by trains.
There is an hourly service in each direction to both Bedford and Bletchley calling at all stations on this line. At Bedford connection to Thameslink and East Midlands Railway Midland Main Line services are possible with Bletchley providing London Northwestern Railway and previously Southern West Coast Main Line services.
The rolling stock currently on this line is the only LNWR diesel trains in the form of ex London Underground District line D stock which are now converted to 2 carriage diesel trains. Previously class 150 and single carriage class 153 Sprinter units operated services.
The 3 letter station code for Millbrook is MLB.
The DfT category is F2.
The station is managed by London Northwestern Railway.
I visited Millbrook and filmed this video in March 2022.

There is another Millbrook station in Hampshire.

Crossing London Tower Bridge

Stewartby Station 6/5/19

We take a ride out on the New 'D' trains now operated most of the services on the Marston Vale Line between Bedford and Bletchley. We re-visit some of the stations on the route as we did do a visit to all of them back in 2018 but it was before the new trains came into service so it was time to re-visit some of these locations.

Race The Tube - High Speed 1 vs The Underground

I caught up with Andy from 'Calling All Stations' again, as we wanted to test out another fastest way between two points in London.

As SouthEasterns High Speed 1 line doesn't appear on the Tube Map (because it's not a TfL service) you might overlook it as a way of getting to Stratford from King's Cross St. Pancras. But how long does it take anyway?

Andy brought along two of his friends - Victoria and David, and we all went different ways to see which was the fastest!

You can watch Andy's Video Here: and give his channel a subscribe whilst you're there!

Gomshall to Guildford, September 24, 2017

Lidlington Station 27/11/18

We visit all the stations between Bedford and Bletchley on a very wintery day, this is in aid of getting the Class 150's and 153's that work the route. Its a bit of a challenging line to do because of the service pattern and did involve a bit of walking but it's all part of the fun! Enjoy!

Passenger Train Crossing Forth Railway Bridge North Queensferry Scotland

Tour Scotland travel video of a diesel passenger train crossing the cantilever Forth Railway Bridge over the Firth of Forth above houses on visit to North Queensferry, Fife. This Scottish bridge connects Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, with Fife, and Perthshire, leaving the Lothians at Dalmeny and arriving in Fife at North Queensferry; it acts as a major artery connecting the north-east and south-east of the country. The bridge is an iconic Scottish landmark.
