HISTORY HEAD BAMBAWALA :
Bambanwala-Ravi-Bedian Canal (BRB Canal), also called Ichogil Canal,[1] is a manmade waterway in Pakistan that takes off from the Upper Chenab Canal near the Bambanwala village (to the west of Daska), runs southeast until reaching close to the India-Pakistan border and then runs south parallel to the border. It ends at the Sutlej near Kangan Pur 100 km south of Lahore. It is the source of the Lahore Canal which runs westwards to the city of Lahore.
The Ichogil Canal was constructed by Pakistan in the 1950s partly as a defensive obstacle to prevent an invasion of Lahore. At 45 m (148 ft) wide and 5 m (16 ft) deep, it presents a serious obstacle for military forces. It was captured by Indian forces during Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 in the Battle of Ichogil Bund.[2]

Sakhi Sarwar is a town of Dera Ghazi Khan District, Pakistan. It is almost 35 km far from Dera Ghazi Khan. It is named after a Muslim Sufi saint Syed Ahmad Sultan, also known as Sakhi Sarwar, whose tomb is situated in the vicinity. The tomb was built in the 13th century. It was later expanded in Mughal’s era. It is a unique building of Mughal architecture.
An urs or festival in the honour of Syed Ahmad Sultan, also locally called Sangh Mela, has been celebrated for centuries during Vaisakhi (March–April). Thousands of pilgrims come to the town from the nearby localities. First they visit to the shrine of syed sakhi Zain ul Abdieen at Lar Multan to pay Salam or homage to the parents of Sakhi Sarwar, than they go to Dera Ghazi Khan.

Sutlej River is the longest of all five rivers which pass through India and Pakistan. It is also called Satadree and serves as an Indus River's tributary. It originates in Tibet from the glaciers of Himalaya and meets the Chenab River in Bahawalpur and then joins the Beas River near Pakistan - India border.
After entering Pakistan, the river flows through Bahawalpur and finally meets the Arabian Sea in Karachi. The water of the river is allocated to India under Indus Water Treaty. Furthermore, there are a number of hydroelectric power plants constructed which provide electric facilities to the people.

SUTLEJ RIVER HISTORY
The Sutlej Valley where the water of the river passes was anciently known as Guruda Valley which is situated at a distance of few miles from the Himalayas. The river was also known as the Zaradros River. It was used by the kings and locals of the time as a medium of travel.
It is also used for transportation of goods and wood to the lower side villages of the river including the districts of Hamir - Pur and Bilas - Pur. Different religious books have resembled the river with many things and some have accepted it as their god but after the Muslim's invasions on the subcontinent, it was called Ja - E - Alam (Place of Knowledge).
