P&O Iona Ship Tour - Promenade, Atrium & SkyDome
Welcome onboard P&O Cruises' Iona as we explore the stand-out areas of the ship. We start on the Promenade deck; Iona features a full wrap-around promenade deck which includes eight whirlpools, a bar and various outside seating for the restaurants as well as plentiful sun loungers. We then make our way inside to explore the Grand Atrium where you will find P&O Cruises' favourites, such as the Emerald Bar, Vistas, The Glass House, The Keel and Cow and more! Also see what this impressive atrium looks like on Celebration Night! Then we make our way up to deck 16 for the SkyDome. This area features an indoor pool with two whirlpools, along with two bars and some areas for food. By evening, this area transforms into an entertainment venue where a show is put on each evening, usually three showings!

Hi!
We are Kathrin and Daniel. We sail, cruise and live aboard our sailing yacht SV Polaris Helvetica, a 14m Bavaria Cruiser 46 from 2017. We left our native Switzerland and moved to the UK almost two decades ago. In 2021, in our mid 50-ies, after our three boys left the nest we made a big decision. We left the rat race in London behind and made our beloved sailboat our primary floating home.
Over the years we have added a few things to Polaris. We got rid of the standard propane gas cooker and replaced it with an electric cooker and oven. We fitted a generator and changed to a lithium (LiFePo) house battery bank. We added a 1'200W solar arch and a water maker. With all these upgrades Polaris is now a comfortable live aboard yacht. We sail her along Britain's beautiful coastline and we live on her summer and winter.
Kathrin loves cooking and baking on board. You will see some of her cookery wonders across our episodes.
We completely fell in love with our new lifestyle although we had to make some tough decisions. We vacated our rented house in London and sold or gave away all our belongings that had no space on Polaris. What a very liberating feeling to be able to say that all we own is with us on our small sailing boat. There's nothing else to care about. We enjoy our new freedom. We explore new places, discover their history and we love making new friends along our way.

We had the most incredible experience on board the P&O IONA! From the moment we stepped foot on this magnificent ship, we were in awe of its grandeur and elegance. The attention to detail in every corner of the ship was simply breathtaking, and we couldn't wait to explore all it had to offer.
Throughout our journey, we were treated to exceptional service, delicious dining options, and a wide range of exciting activities. Whether we were relaxing by the pool, in reality 2 infinity pools, indulging in gourmet cuisine, or enjoying the vibrant entertainment, there was never a dull moment on the IONA.
One of the highlights for us was the stunning design of the ship. Every space was thoughtfully curated, combining modern sophistication with a touch of maritime charm. The bars and restaurants offered a variety of culinary delights, and we found ourselves spoilt for choice when it came to dining options.
The leisure areas were equally impressive, with luxurious lounges, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and even a spa for ultimate relaxation. We also loved exploring the various decks, each offering breathtaking views of the ocean and the opportunity to connect with fellow travelers.

In this video we look at a stateroom which is situated on Deck 10, towards the stern, in a great position for pools, the Clubhouse and restaurants via the aft lifts.
We loved the decor, very calming with muted colours. This video shows the 4 berth cabin is in the double bed setup but it can sleep four comfortably when using the pull out and pull down beds. There is lots of hanging and shelving space although the wardrobes and full length mirror are a little awkward by the bed as you will see. Good size shower room with glass screen, with good bathroom storage. Plus points for the U.K. power points, fridge and kettle!
