Troisème réveil dans le plus grand désert au monde : le Sahara, ici en Algérie. Nous sommes dans le sud est du pays non loin de la ville de Djanet, dans le parc national du tassili n'Ajjer. On explore la Tadrart rouge, et aujourd'hui on va découvrir de nouvelles gravures et peintures rupestres qui ont au moins 8000 ans, c'est exceptionnel.

The great desert is an arid but varied landscape where cultures, both religious and nomadic, have adaped to the unforgiving climate over thousands of years. We tour the berber castles of Timimoun and the circular Mozabite cities of the Mzab valley. We learn about Islam’s ancient sect, the Ibadi who have sought eternal refuge in the desert. We visit the Touaregs of Tamanrasset and hear the sweet music of the Imzad instrument, rounding off our great travels with the incredible story of Charles de Foucauld, a foreign legion officer who found God in the volcanic mountains of the Ahoggar.

Discovery of the Ghost City of Sefar - Tassili Plateau in Algeria - Day 3 - Vlog - 4K
In this third day of the adventure I leave with the guide to discover the lost city of Sefar with its thousands of cave paintings. In a leaden silence, we discover through the maze of stone the presence of an ancient civilization which has left its mark through millennial paintings.
Sefar is a real labyrinth, the presence of a guide is mandatory.
At the end of the day at the camp, we had a visit from a jackal, unfortunately I didn't had time to film it :(

I booked this solo trip through the Imessoukal Voyages agency, which organized everything from start to finish, a big thank you to Tahar Marmouri.

i spent 1 week travelling across Djanet in november , this video presents the amazing places and landscapes I discovered along the journey.
Djanet is an oasis city, and capital of Djanet District, in Illizi Province, southeast Algeria.The region of Djanet has been inhabited since Neolithic times. There were periods of ten thousand years at a time that the area was not desert. The flora and fauna were luxuriant as is seen in the numerous rock paintings of Tassili n'Ajjer around Djanet. Populations of hunter-gatherers lived there.
Djanet was founded in the Middle Ages by the Tuareg. The Ottoman Empire, which had a nominal authority over the Fezzan region, reinforced their presence in the area at the beginning of the 20th century in reaction to the colonization of Africa by the Europeans.

HOGGAR - Sahara algérien - الصحراء الجزائرية
Le massif du #Hoggar (ou #Ahaggar) est un ensemble montagneux d'Afrique du Nord, au cœur du #désert du #Sahara, au sud de l'#Algérie. Il tire son nom du peuple qui y habite traditionnellement, les #Touareg Kel Ahaggar.
L'Ahaggar prend sa source immédiatement à l'ouest de #Tamanrasset. Toute la région a une altitude moyenne de plus de 900 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer, et le plus haut sommet est le mont #Tahat, au centre de l'#Atakor. Il culmine à 2918 mètres d'altitude, et est aussi le plus haut sommet d'Algérie.
Autre localité bien connue, l'#Assekrem, à environ quatre-vingts kilomètres à vol d'oiseau de Tamanrasset, aujourd'hui facilement accessible par une piste. Le bienheureux Charles de #Foucauld y avait placé son #ermitage.
Enfin, le Tassili n'Ajjer, qui signifie en berbère « Plateau (Tassili) des Touareg Kel Ajjer »,[1] est un massif montagneux du désert du Sahara, situé au sud-est de l'Algérie.
Le Tassili n'Ajjer est également connu pour son art rupestre de l'ère préhistorique[3] daté d'il y a entre 9 000 et 10 000 ans[4][5] et pour d'autres sites archéologiques antiques de l'ère néolithique, époque où dans cette région le climat était plus humide et au lieu du désert il y avait la savane.
Jusqu'à présent, environ 15 000 peintures et #gravures rupestres ont été identifiées[2] représentant des troupeaux de bovins, de grands animaux sauvages, notamment des éléphants, des girafes et des crocodiles,[6] des activités humaines telles que la chasse et la danse.

كتلة الهقار (أو الهقار) عبارة عن مجمع جبلي في شمال إفريقيا، في قلب الصحراء الكبرى، جنوب الجزائر. وتأخذ اسمها من
السكان الذين يعيشون هناك تقليديا، الطوارق كل أهاجار.
ينبع نهر الهقار مباشرة غرب تمنراست. ويبلغ متوسط ارتفاع المنطقة بأكملها عن سطح البحر أكثر من 900 متر، وأعلى قمة فيها هي جبل تاهات وسط أتاكور. ويبلغ ارتفاعها 2918 مترا فوق سطح البحر، وهي أيضا أعلى قمة في الجزائر.

وأخيرًا، طاسيلي ناجر، والتي تعني باللغة البربرية هضبة (طاسيلي) الطوارق كل آجر،[1] هي كتلة صخرية جبلية في الصحراء الكبرى، تقع في الجنوب الشرقي من الجزائر بالقرب من الحدود مع ليبيا ( منطقة غات). وتمتد لمسافة 500 كيلومتر تقريبًا في اتجاه الشمال الغربي والجنوب الشرقي وأعلى نقطة فيها هي جبل أفاو الذي يبلغ ارتفاعه 2158 مترًا. أقرب مدينة هي جانت، على بعد حوالي 10 كيلومترات جنوب غرب الكتلة الصخرية.
تشتهر طاسيلي ناجر أيضًا بالفنون الصخرية من عصر ما قبل التاريخ[3] والتي يعود تاريخها إلى ما بين 9000 و 10000 سنة مضت[4][5] وبالمواقع الأثرية القديمة الأخرى من العصر الحجري الحديث، عندما كان المناخ في هذه المنطقة أكثر رطوبة وبدلاً من الصحراء كانت هناك السافانا.
تم حتى الآن التعرف على حوالي 15000 لوحة ونقش صخري[2] تصور قطعانًا من الماشية وحيوانات برية كبيرة بما في ذلك الفيلة والزرافات والتماسيح[6] وأنشطة بشرية مثل الصيد والرقص.

Il massiccio dell'Hoggar (o Ahaggar) è un complesso montuoso, in Nord Africa, nel cuore del deserto del Sahara, nel sud dell'Algeria. Prende il nome dalla popolazione che tradizionalmente vi abita, i #tuareg Kel Ahaggar.
L'Ahaggar sorge immediatamente ad ovest di Tamanrasset. L'intera regione ha un'altitudine media superiore ai 900 metri sul livello del mare, e la cima più alta è il monte Tahat, al centro dell'Atakor. Esso culmina a 2918 metri di altitudine, ed è anche la vetta più alta dell'#Algeria.
Un'altra località conosciuta è l'Assekrem, a un'ottantina di chilometri in linea d'aria da Tamanrasset, oggi facilmente accessibile con una pista. Qui aveva posto il suo eremitaggio il beato Charles de Foucauld.
Infine, il #Tassili n'Ajjer, che in berbero significa Altopiano (Tassili) dei tuareg Kel Ajjer,[1] è un massiccio montuoso del deserto del Sahara, situato nel sud est dell'Algeria presso il confine con la Libia (distretto di Ghat).
Il Tassili n'Ajjer è noto anche per l'arte rupestre di epoca preistorica[3] che vengono datate tra 9 000 e 10 000 anni fa[4][5] e per altri antichi siti archeologici di epoca neolitica, quando in questa regione il clima era più umido e al posto del deserto vi era la savana.
Sono state finora identificate circa 15.000 tra pitture e #incisioni #rupestri[2] che raffigurano mandrie di bestiame, grandi animali selvaggi tra cui elefanti, giraffe e coccodrilli,[6] attività umane come caccia e danza.

Tassili n'Ajjer is a mountain range in the Sahara Desert in southeastern Algeria, North Africa. It stretches for approximately 500 km, from 26°20′ N 05°00′ E east-southeast to 24°00′ N 10°00′ E and the highest peak is Adrar Afao (2,158 m), located at 25°10′ N 8°11′ E. The nearest town is Djanet, located approximately 10 km southwest of the mountain range.
During the last ice age the area was much wetter than today, the sandstone was able to retain some moisture, allowing plants such as Saharan myrtle and Saharan cypress to grow.
