Dr. RGST’s Drive Around Little Falls, NY
A nice March 2022 drive around Little Falls, NY. A city that was a transportation hub in the state with the intersection of the railroad, Erie Canal, Mohawk River and after the 1950’s the New York State Thruway. Little Falls was a leader in textiles and was known as the cheese capital of New York if not the country.
Before 1776, there wasn’t a real permanent settlement at the falls. After the Revolution growth was rapid. The Village of Little Falls was officially granted a charter in 1811. Little Falls was incorporated as a city in 1885. The population and economic activity continued to increase. [1]
