Normally the park is closed after dark, the opening hours differ according to the time of the year. From 1 November to 31 March it's open from 10:00h to 19:00h. Barcelona is a city and municipality of Spain, the capital of the homonymous province and the autonomous community of Catalonia. The metropolitan area of Barcelona, including in the urban region of Barcelona, has 5,029,181 inhabitants (2011), making it the sixth most populous city in the European Union. According to The Economist, in 2015 Barcelona is the fifteenth largest city in the secure world.

Barcelona has hosted several international events that have helped to consolidate and develop and provide global projection. The most relevant are the Universal Exhibition of 1888, the International Exhibition of 1929, the 1992 Olympics. Barcelona is on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula, right in the center of the river deltas of the rivers Llobregat, southwestern, and Besos, northeast. The line of the coast of Barcelona has changed over time to the point that in prehistoric times came where today is located the Plaza Catalunya. The land on which settled the Barceloneta does not exist a century and a half before the construction of this neighborhood.

One of the attractions that Barcelona has built in recent years are its beaches. Thanks to the regeneration of the coast held in 1992, during the Olympic Games, Barcelona now has nine beaches and a bathing area they occupy more than 4.2 linear kilometers of coastline. Barcelona has a typical Mediterranean climate of humid and northern hue. According to the criteria of climatic classification of Köppen the climate of Barcelona is of type Csa ( Mediterranean ). The summer drought own Mediterranean climate is tempered by the summer storms.

The limit of Barcelona until 1859 the city decided to dispense with the outdated walls and grow in the plane of Barcelona to engulf the surrounding villages, now converted into city neighborhoods like Gracia, Poble Nou, Horta or Sants. This growth was made following the expansion plan designed by Ildefonso Cerda, known as Cerda Plan, with the now famous mesh orthogonal with chamfered crosses.

Barcelona has many parks. The best known are the Güell Park, located on the mountain of the same name, and Ciutadella Park, located in the center city, which can be found in the Parliament of Catalonia and the Barcelona Zoo, famous for hosting until his death the albino gorilla Snowflake. Recently inaugurated the Diagonal Mar Park, designed by Enric Miralles, and the Park of the Forum, where the enclosure is located hosted the Universal Forum of Cultures of 2004. Near Collserola, north of the city are the Nou Barris Central Park, one of the largest in Barcelona and Horta Maze park where are planted and the hedges trimmed so that they create a small maze where people spend fun times.

Historically Barcelona's economy is based on trade, thanks to its strategic geographical location has always allowed an intense commercial activity with France and the rest of Spain, in addition to all the territories of the Mediterranean, especially through its port. When the regime began to open up European markets, Barcelona rebounded strongly in automotive electronics, publishing, chemical, pharmaceutical, logistics and did convert Barcelona into the main industrial zone of the country. But the growth and prosperity of the city of Barcelona was expelling industrial zones off-limits due to the rising price of industrial land.

This is due to the fragmentation of the Catalan traditional entrepreneurial tissue reduces competitiveness, to the saturation of infrastructure, the largest foreign investment in Madrid about Barcelona, and the transfer of decision-making centers, tax offices and social Barcelona and also from other parts of Spain to Madrid. In industry Barcelona has had serious problems of relocation, relocation basically industries to countries with cheaper labor work, including the case of Braun, Philips and Samsung.

Given the scenario of loss of competitiveness by the economic crisis of 2008-2015, both the City of Barcelona, as the Generalitat of Catalonia nearly ten years ago that started a new program to develop a productive economy based on knowledge, creating large parks research, especially in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology.

For Barcelona, it is as important, or even more, leisure tourism as business. For the development of business tourism, the city has the Fira, Barcelona Trade Fair which organizes numerous exhibitions, shows, conferences and exhibitions for professionals, some of whom are among the first in the world, such as Mobile World Congress is the world's largest in its sector.

☀️ Barcelona - the city of Gaudi
If Barcelona had only the works of Gaudi to offer, it would also be visited by crowds. No wonder, because the designs of the Catalan architect are unusual and difficult to pigeonhole.

???? His most famous work (still under construction) is the Sagrada Familia basilica. The mighty temple leaves no one indifferent. It delights with its shape, colors and decorations. Each element is symbolic, and a minimum of 3 hours is needed to visit the whole. The 100 m high church tower offers a wonderful view.

???? Other famous works of the master are Casa Batllo, Casa Mila and Casa Calvet. These unique houses stand on Passeig de Gracia, which is the most elegant street in the city. The interiors of the first two tenement houses are open to the public, the third can only be seen from the outside.

???? Park Güell is another facility designed by Gaudi. Stylish and elegant, it impresses not only with its wonderful greenery, but also with amazing buildings and decorations, such as the El Drac sculpture or the longest bench in the world (extremely comfortable to sit on). It is also worth visiting the Gaudí Museum to learn about the artist's everyday life.

☀️ Where history connects with the present
The Gothic Quarter ranks high on the list of attractions. It is a tangle of narrow streets with a medieval layout, with houses that are often several hundred years old.

???? You can see even older traces of former Barcelona here. These are fragments of the Roman city, including fortifications, cemetery or ruins of temples.

???? However, the real pearl is the Cathedral of St. eulalia. It is an example of great Spanish Gothic, and the alabaster sarcophagus of St. Eulalia, the patron saint of the city, which is located in the crypt under the main altar. It is also worth going to the roof of the cathedral to admire the panorama of Barcelona.

???? The Gothic Quarter is adjacent to La Rambla, which is the busiest street in the city. Street performers, theater troupes, lots of tourists and locals have fun around the clock on this promenade. There are numerous bars, cafes and shops at their disposal. Halfway down this street is the Mercado da Boqueria, the oldest market in Barcelona. Since the 13th century, trade in various things has flourished here. Today it is primarily food. Colorful stands encourage you to buy, and numerous gastronomic points to try local delicacies.

☀️ Sports and beaches
Spain is famous for its beaches, and there is no shortage of them in Barcelona. Barceloneta, a sandy and vast beach, is considered the most beautiful, very often visited by Barcelona residents and tourists. No wonder that on hot weekends it is better to look for a less crowded, but also beautiful place. It can be, for example, Icaria. Just like Barceloneta, it has an excellent gastronomic base, so your stay will be just as pleasant.

???? Barcelona is a very sporty city. Probably everyone has heard of the football club FC Barcelona. For the Catalans, this club is a real sanctity. You cannot be in Barcelona without visiting the club's museum and, above all, Europe's largest stadium, Camp Nou. By the way, fans can buy a variety of club memorabilia.

???? Interesting sports facilities also include Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Palau Sant Jordi, a swimming pool complex and the Olympic and Sports Museum. They were built for the 1992 Olympic Games and are still in use today.

???? Barcelona is a very green city. In addition to the aforementioned Park Güell, it is also worth visiting other green places, e.g. Citadel Park or Labyrinth Park. Each of them has a specific charm and many interesting places to see. Here you can rest for a while after the hardships of sightseeing.

7 Reasons To Visit Parc Del Laberint D’Horta Barcelona

The Parc del Laberint, the oldest garden in Barcelona, covering over 18 acres, has a long history. It is one of the remaining vestiges of the extravagance of the Spanish monarchy in Catalunya. In 1791, Antoni Desvalls, marquis of Llupiaand Alfarrás, hired Italian engineer Domenico Baguitti to landscape the property of his estate. The park still has many traces of the idyllic lifestyle of the marquis, including a monument constructed to commemorate a splendid afternoon spent in the company of the King’s nephew and his new bride.

Parc del Laberint d'Horta, Barcelona, Spain, 4k, #barcelona #spain #barcelonalovers #hedgemaze

The Parc del Laberint d'Horta is outside the tourist trails. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet that is otherwise hard to find in Barcelona.
In the 18th Century by the Marquis Desvall for the Catalan nobility properly, the Parc del Laberint is today the oldest remaining parking facilities in Barcelona.
Enter the park, there is on the right side, half hidden behind a wall, a romantic castle, which is copied a Moorish castle with octagonal floor plan and crowned with delicate battlements. This building is the Palais of the family Desvalls, the builder of the park.
The entire Parc del Laberint is divided into the traditional park and the romantic garden.
Go straight from the castle along the rising way, you come to the older part of the park, which consists of three terraces classical plant. Start with the establishment of the park which was in 1791. It contains many elements of Greek mythology and is devoted in many ways of love. You can find many sculptures, streams and ponds.
At the lowest terrace is the 1792-based labyrinth from which the Parc del Laberint has its name. The labyrinth consists of about 750 meters cut cypress hedge.
In the centre of the labyrinth awaits a statue of the huntress Diana and with a bow armed Amor to the hideout playing visitors. At the end of the labyrinth rests in an open cave the guardian of the park, a source nymph.
In the middle of the garden there are two small temples which are dedicated to Artemis and Danae. At the stairs to the third terrace is a statue of Dionysus, the god of wine. The temple served mid-19th Century as a backdrop of classical plays.
On the third and uppermost terrace you see a classical pavilion. This is dedicated to the nine Muses. Before the pavilion a water basin fed of a fountain, and it is dedicated to the nymph Egeria.
The descendants of the Marquis Desvalls enlarged 1880 the Parc del Laberint with a very delightful and pleasant shady and Romanesque garden directly to their property. There were ways and places in the shade of large trees. There was also a replica of a medieval cemetery, which why this part of the park is as a counterpart to the classical part and probably applies to the death warning.
From the Roman part is only slightly preserved, the today's design, however, after the original plans.
The park is located in a very large Mediterranean forest, which pulls up the slope.
The 9.1-hectare Parc del Laberint was in 1967 in possession of the city of Barcelona and since 1971 it is open to the public and also serves as a botanical museum. In 1994, the Parc was restored.
The Parc del Laberint d'Horta is located on a slope of the Collserola, on the Olympic bycicle stadium.
You can reach the Parc del Laberint from the metro station Mundet (line L3). From the subway station go at Olympic Bycicle Stadium to the park There are about 500 meters to walk up the slope.
