Cayey Revealed: History, Peaks, Nature & Food in Puerto Rico
Today we visit the great city of Cayey, on the east central region of Puerto Rico. We’ll visit “La Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción”, a Roman Catholic Parish Church built in 1815, the old Cayey City Hall Building, the Ramón Frade Square and Band Shell, the monument to the Puerto Rican Peasant (that’s el monumento al Jíbaro Puertorriqueño), the beautiful Tetas de Cayey, a pair of mountain Peaks located on “La Sierra de Cayey, the world-famous Guavate Restaurant Area and El Charco Azul, a wonderful swimming hole that’s actually blue like its name suggests.

Gorgeous route along Litoral Mayaguez up to Joyuda Cabo Rojo. Joyuda is one of the few areas with a large concentration of Seafood Restaurants in Puerto Rico. Many have the tables on a deck over the water or have beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets (Like El Bohio Restaurant).
El Gato Negro (The Black Cat) and El Gatito (The Kitten) restaurants are landmarks for the people of western Puerto Rico, but they are others that are excellent too!
