My guide for the best things to do in Snowdonia & Anglesey. From climbing to the summit of Snowdon to the mind blowing Conwy Castle! Snowdonia is a national park in North West Wales, not only does it contain the highest peak in wales, but also some breathtaking castles, gorgeous towns and Anglesey has some of the most peaceful coastline you could imagine! All these things are in such a small area which makes it the perfect place for a holiday! So here is my top 10 things to do whilst on holiday Snowdonia.

For another 10 incredible things to do in Snowdonia check out this video next:

There are so many things to do in Wales in general, here is my full playlist about all things Wales:

firstly in Snowdonia you must climb the highest peak in wales, in this video i will give you full advice on the many ways to get to the summit of Snowdon. Firstly you can walk on the Pyg Track, probably the most well known track the Pyg is also the shortest and with only a few short climbs anyone with an average level of fitness can tackle this path. Then we have the Snowdon mountain Railway, this train is perfect for anyone who wants to see the epic views all over Snowdonia from the summit without the climb. Then for the people seeking more of a challenge I would suggest the Rhyd Ddu path. climbing along the ridgeline this requires some confidence and steady footing, but the reward is some of the best views I have ever seen!

- Link to article about the story of Bedgellert and Gelert the Dog -

Other than this you can see the amazing walled town of Conwy, the guinness world record for the smallest house in Great Britain as well as Conwy Castle. go over to Anglesey and walk around the coast at the South Stack Lighthouse. see the town with the 2nd longest name in Europe and more castles than you can imagine and so much more! Here is the full list from the video:

- Climb Snowdon (the highest peak in Wales)
- Option 1: The Pyg Track
- Option 2: Snowdon Mountain Railway
- Option 3: The Rhyd Ddu Path
- Visit The Town of Conwy

Places to see in ( Holyhead - UK )

Places to see in ( Holyhead - UK )

Holyhead is the largest town in the county of Isle of Anglesey in Wales. Holyhead is also a community and a major Irish Sea port, serving Ireland. Holyhead is neither the county town nor actually on the island of Anglesey. Holyhead is located on Holy Island

Holyhead was originally connected to Anglesey via Four Mile Bridge, so called because the bridge was four miles (6 km) from Holyhead on the old turnpike Road. In the mid 19th century, Lord Stanley, a local philanthropist, funded the building of a larger causeway, known locally as The Cobb, it now carries the A5 and the railway line. The A55 dual carriageway runs parallel to the Cobb on a modern causeway.

The Port of Holyhead has a busy ferry port. Stena Line, Northern Europe's biggest ferry company, operates from the port, as do Irish Ferries. Ferries sail to Dublin, in Ireland; this forms the principal link for surface transport from central and northern England and Wales to Ireland. There is archaeological evidence that people have been sailing between Holyhead and Ireland for 4,000 years

With the opening of the railway from London to Liverpool, Holyhead lost the London to Dublin Mail contract in 1839 to the Port of Liverpool. Only after the completion of the Chester and Holyhead Railway in 1850 and the building of Holyhead railway station did the Irish Mail return to Holyhead, operated from London Euston by the London and North Western Railway.

Holyhead is the terminus of the North Wales Coast Line and is currently served by Virgin Trains and Arriva Trains Wales services. Virgin Trains run direct trains to London Euston and Arriva Trains Wales operate direct trains towards Cardiff and Birmingham International via Wrexham and Shrewsbury, and two direct trains per day to Manchester Piccadilly.

Holyhead Port is a major employer, most of the jobs being linked to ferry services to the Republic of Ireland operated by Stena and Irish Ferries. Other significant industrial/transport sector employers in Holyhead include Holyhead Boatyard, Gwynedd Shipping, and Eaton Electrical, with the last of these having seen many job losses in 2009.

( Holyhead - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Holyhead . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Holyhead - UK

Top 10 Places in Wales to Visit | United Kingdom

Top 10 Places in Wales to Visit.

The smallest of mainland Britain's component countries, Wales offers many wonderful reasons to visit. The south includes cosmopolitan Cardiff, famous for its magnificent castle and a good base from which to begin exploring the rest of the country.

With its splendid shopping arcades and many well-reserved historic buildings, it's a city with plenty of places to visit and things to do. Wales shares a great deal of history with the rest of Great Britain, but the rugged beauty of its landscapes and the open nature of its inhabitants make it a distinctly unique travel destination.

For first-time visitors, the most obvious difference between Wales and the other lands in the United Kingdom is the tongue-twisting Welsh language. While everyone speaks English, part of the fun of visiting Wales is learning a few phrases of one of the oldest languages in Europe.

Number 10. Aberystwyth
Known by the locals as “Aber,” Aberystwyth is an historic university town situated on the west coast of Wales. With 7,000 students attending school in Aberystwyth each year, it’s no surprise that the town is also a popular holiday destination for young people as evidenced by the city’s more than 50 pubs. The seafront features charming Victorian architecture with a wide promenade where visitors can sit and soak up the sun.

Number 9. Caernarfon
Located in northern Wales, the city of Caernarfon is best known for its 13th-century castle, which is considered one of the best preserved fortresses in all of Wales. Although the castle was built as a royal palace as well as a military stronghold for Edward I, the inner buildings and apartments have all but disappeared.

Number 8. St. David's Cathedral
Located in the City of St. David’s in Pembrokeshire county, St. David’s Cathedral is a beautiful example of religious architecture in the Middle Ages. Construction for the existing cathedral was begun in the 1180s using purple-colored sandstone.

Number 7. Brecon Beacons National Park
Named after the pair of nearly 900-meter hills situated in the heart of the park, Brecon Beacons features a landscape of rolling hills, rocky river valleys, grasslands and water meadows. The park is dotted with archeological remnants of Wales’ long history too, including Neolithic cairns, Bronze Age standing stones, Iron Age forts and crumbling Norman castles.

Number 6. Cardiff
Located in the southeast corner of Wales, Cardiff became the country’s capital in 1955 and launched a number of projects to improve the ancient port city shortly thereafter. The 11th-century castle gives visitors a great introduction to Welsh history, and a climb to the top of the keep offers stunning views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Number 5. Conwy
An ancient town with a rich history, Conwy is located in North Wales on the Conwy Estuary near the forests of Snowdonia. The dark-stoned fortress of Conwy Castle dominates the cityscape. Built in the 1280s by Edward I, the castle’s mammoth curtain walls and eight round towers remain intact and imposing.

Number 4. Pembrokeshire Coast
Home to the only coastal national park in Wales, Pembrokeshire county encompasses the country’s southwestern peninsula and offshore islands. Visited by more than four million people each year, the national park is best known for the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which winds for 300 km along cliff tops overlooking the craggy shoreline. The area is famed for its wildlife too. Seals bask on the rocks below and hundreds of species of birds soar overhead.

Number 3. Llandudno
Nestled between the limestone headlands of Great Orme and Little Orme in North Wales, Llandudno is the country’s largest seaside resort and arguably its most charming. Built during the 1950s by the wealthy Mostyn family, Llandudno has all the attributes that wealthy Victorians looked for in a summer resort, including a promenade stretched along the town’s northern beach with a 700-meter pier jutting into the bay at the end.

Number 2. Snowdonia
The mountains of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales are one of the most popular places to visit in Wales. Few of Snowdonia’s peaks top 900 meters, but their steeply wooded slopes lend them a heightened sense of drama. They also provide a stunning backdrop to the park’s estuaries, lakes, rivers, slate mines and villages.

Number 1. Anglesey
Separated from mainland Wales by the mile-wide Menai Strait - spanned by the Menai Suspension Bridge the Isle of Anglesey is home to a number of quaint, small fishing villages sprinkled along its more than 100 miles of attractive coastline. best attractions in wales

Ancient Anglesey - Part 1 Ancient sites around Holyhead

The first in a series of five short videos exploring some of the many prehistoric sites on the Island of Anglesey. Part 1 takes us to the area around Holyhead to look at the Roman Fort, an Iron Age Hill Fort and two Neolithic monuments within a couple of miles of the town.

Places to see in ( Island of Anglesey - UK )

Places to see in ( Island of Anglesey - UK )

Anglesey is an island in Wales, off the mainland's northwest coast. It's known for its beaches and ancient sites. The island is accessed by the 19th-century Menai Suspension Bridge and the Britannia Bridge, rebuilt in the 20th century. In the medieval town of Beaumaris, 13th-century Beaumaris Castle has concentric fortifications and a moat. Beaumaris Gaol has Victorian punishment cells and an original tread wheel.

Anglesey is an island off the north-west coast of Wales. With an area of 276 square miles (715 km2), Anglesey is by far the largest island in Wales and the seventh largest in the British Isles. Anglesey is also the largest island in the Irish Sea by area, and the second most populous island (after the Isle of Man). Two bridges span the Menai Strait, connecting the island to the mainland: the Menai Suspension Bridge, designed by Thomas Telford in 1826, and the Britannia Bridge. A historic county of Wales and later administrated as part of Gwynedd, Anglesey today makes up the Isle of Anglesey County along with Holy Island and other smaller islands. The majority of Anglesey's inhabitants are Welsh speakers and Ynys Môn, the Welsh name for the island, is used for the UK Parliament and National Assembly constituencies.

Anglesey is a relatively low-lying island, with low hills spaced evenly over the north of the island. The highest six are: Holyhead Mountain (220 metres (720 ft)); Mynydd Bodafon (178 metres (584 ft)); Mynydd Llaneilian (177 metres (581 ft)); Mynydd y Garn (170 metres (560 ft)); Bwrdd Arthur (164 metres (538 ft)) and Mynydd Llwydiarth (158 metres (518 ft)). To the south/south-east the island is separated from the Welsh mainland by the Menai Strait, which at its narrowest point is about 250 metres (270 yd) wide. In all other directions the island is surrounded by the Irish Sea. It is the 51st largest island in Europe.

There are several small towns scattered around the island, making it quite evenly populated. The largest towns are Holyhead, Llangefni, Benllech, Menai Bridge, and Amlwch. Beaumaris (Welsh: Biwmares), in the east of the island, features Beaumaris Castle, built by Edward I as part of his Bastide Town campaign in North Wales. Beaumaris is a yachting centre, with many boats moored in the bay or off Gallows Point. The village of Newborough (Welsh: Niwbwrch), in the south, created when the townsfolk of Llanfaes were relocated to make way for the building of Beaumaris Castle, includes the site of Llys Rhosyr, another of the courts of the medieval Welsh princes, which features one of the oldest courtrooms in the United Kingdom.

There are a few natural lakes, mostly in the west, such as Llyn Llywenan, the largest natural lake on the island, Llyn Coron, and Cors Cerrig y Daran, but rivers are few and small. There are two large water supply reservoirs operated by Welsh Water. These are Llyn Alaw to the north of the island and Llyn Cefni in the centre of the island, which is fed by the headwaters of the afon Cefni.

Alot to see in ( Island of Anglesey - UK ) such as :

Rhosneigr, for its beach, boat launch and surfing facilities.
The Skerries Lighthouse which can be found at the end of a low piece of submerged land, north-east of Holyhead
The working windmill at Llanddeusant
Ynys Llanddwyn – Lovers' island
The sea zoo near Dwyran
The church in the sea on Cribinau
The Anglesey Motor Racing Circuit
Stone Science,[37] near Pentraeth – a journey through 650 million years.
King Arthur's seat near Beaumaris
Penmon Priory and dovecote
The town and castle of Beaumaris
Red Wharf Bay, Benllech, Llanddona and many other beaches
Cemlyn Bay for its ternary
Elin's Tower (Twr Elin) RSPB reserve and the lighthouse at South Stack (Ynys Lawd) near Holyhead
Moelfre, the fishing village
Malltraeth, noted centre for bird life and home of wildlife artist Charles Tunnicliffe
Swtan longhouse, owned by the National Trust and managed by the local community of Porth Swtan

Holyhead in Autumn

A video I made recently on the charming Holyhead island in north west Wales. It is a corner of the UK which seems untouched by the modern world. We stayed in a lovely hotel that overlooked the bay. The tranquil waters there rely so much on a giant breakwater that took twenty years to build in the mid nineteenth century.

Rhosneigr is a village in the south-west of Anglesey, North Wales. Rhosneigr is situated on the A4080 road some 10 km south-east of Holyhead, and is on the Anglesey Coastal Path. From the clock at the centre of the village can be seen RAF Valley and Holyhead Mountain. The major towns of Holyhead and Llangefni and the city of Bangor are all within easy travelling distance. Rhosneigr has three main beaches:

'Traeth Cymyran' that stretches from Afon Crigyll estuary to the Cymyran Strait.
'Pwll Cwch' and the 'Town Beach' – a small, rocky beach where boats and yachts stay overnight, running into a sandy beach interspersed by rocks and views of Snowdonia. It is popular with watersports enthusiasts, notably windsurfers and sailors.
'Traeth Llydan' which runs from the Barclodiad y Gawres ancient monument to Rhosneigr, ranging from pebble shores to pristine sandy shores. It is perfect for canoeing, walking and surfing. Traeth Llydan is a regular Green Coast Award Winner and is backed by sand dunes.

Places to see in ( Trearddur Bay - UK )

Trearddur or Trearddur Bay is a community, village and seaside resort south of Holyhead on the west coast of Holy Island off the north-west coast of Anglesey in Wales. Near the beach is a play area and a football pitch where Trearddur Bay United F.C. play. The village of Trearddur Bay has had a lifeboat station since 1967.

There are two general shops in the centre of the villageof Trearddur Bay , along with a garage, two golf courses, one 18-hole (Holyhead Golf Club), and one small 9-hole, and two hotels including a large hotel, Trearddur Bay Hotel, which overlooks the beach. There is also a number of self-catering holiday cottages, many with views of the sea and easy access to the beaches.

On the two beaches — Porth Diana and the main beach — there are some shallow scuba diving sites, and the main beach is one of the tourist hotspots of Anglesey. There is excellent sea fishing in the area. Boat trips and fishing trips are available from the beach. Horse riding is available, as is kayaking and sailing. The seas around Holy Island provide some of the best kayaking in the world.

Trearddur Bay Sailing Club (founded in 1919) has over 1000 members but, unusually, operates only in the month of August. Visitors can walk along the Anglesey Coastal Footpath towards neighbouring Rhoscolyn or in the other direction towards Porth Dafarch and on to South Stack and the RSPB Reserve and lighthouse.
