After visiting 150 countries, here are my top 10 favorites, at least for now!!
1️⃣ Amalfi Coast, Italy
Delicious cuisine and fresh fruit, amazing weather, idyllic hill towns and beaches, what more can you ask for! Rent a car in Naples and drive down the coast, stopping in Positano, Ravello, Capri (a ferry), Sorrento and Amalfi. Simply magical and my personal favorite especially during summers!
2️⃣ West Coast National Parks, USA
I had underestimated the beauty of U.S. national parks! While some may get super hot during summer, it’s still an amazing time to visit them including: Zion, Bryce, Antelope Canyon/Lake Powell, Sedona, Yosemite, Yellowstone, among many others! Rent a car, and slowly make your way through the natural wonders of the West coast!
3️⃣ Zanzibar, Tanzania
One of my favorite island experiences during summer, largely due to its nature but also Zanzibar’s confluence of African, Indian, Arab, and European cultures in one island! Eclectic cuisine, white sand beaches, warm waters…breathtaking! I flew in from Dar El Salam, rented a vespa and zipped all around the island!
4️⃣ Zermatt and the Swiss Alps, Switzerland
While winter skiing in the Alps is amazing (See Verbier Vlog ???????? don’t underestimate the hiking, waterfalls, lakes, and endless summer activities in places like Zermatt, Lucerne, Interlaken, Gstaad. And if you have a chance, drive down to the lakes on the border with Italy, I’m talking Como and Lugano!
5️⃣ Andalucia, Spain
A lover of history, I really enjoy exploring Andulucia’s main attractions during summer: Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada. I won’t lie, it gets super hot and crowded but absolutely breathtaking. Rent a car and go explore the food, flamenco, and fascinating history of Spain’s southern region!
6️⃣ Côte D’Azur, France
Who can deny the magic and decadence of France’s Côte d’Azur: St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco. Beaches, beauties, glamorous parties, and perfect summer weather! Each of the cities offers something unique, so I would highly recommend renting a car and spending time in each!
7️⃣ Tulum, Mexico
There is so much you can do in Tulum, not just in terms of parties and white sand beaches, but incredible natural attractions like cenotes, swimming with whales, sailing, historic sites and much more (See Tulum Vlog ???????? While it can get hot (with lots of mosquitos) it’s still very much worth visiting during summer!
8️⃣ Medellin, Colombia
Colombia is one of my favorite places to visit, not least of which because of the numerous attractions, nightlife, food, and history but the hospitality of the people is unprecedented. During summer, Medellin is amazing in terms of cooler weather, parties, and all around adventure (make sure to check out Guatape).
9️⃣ Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Now you may ask, northern summers don’t apply to Rio, but I’ve been there in our summer (their winter) and it’s still amazing! In fact, Rio is one of my favorite cities in the world due to the weather, beaches, food, topography, fitness/sports and overall hospitality of the Cariocas!
???? Lisbon, Portugal and the Algarve
Lisbon is fast becoming a global hotspot especially during summers. The food is amazing, historical sites, cafes, culture, and it’s cost effective to boot (See Lisbon Vlog ???????? Make sure to also wander down south (easily accessible by car) to the beauty and wonder of the Algarve’s beaches and seaside towns!
