She said that she had come with the mission of seeking the Sanctification of many and that her name was María Santificadora. This is my trip to Santa Fe de Antioquia! I left from the North Terminal in Medellin and the trip was about two hours.
In the first part of the video I'm just walking about the town sightseeing and experiencing the history of the city, there are so many colonial buildings and churches to see. The city was founded in 1541 and it has a very Spanish feel to it! It was the first capital of the region in Antioquia.
In the second part of the video I went to a restaurant called El Porton del Parque, there are so many portraits on the wall to look at and see, and a lot of old decor too. My meal was a typical bandeja paisa, which is the most famous meal from the region. It's huge. It consists of beans, white rice, avocado, ground beef, plantains, an arepa, chicharrón (fried pork belly), chorizo (pork sausage), and a fried egg (I didn't get the egg). If you come to Colombia, get it! Thank you to all the staff at the restaurant.
The third part of the video is the Puente de Occidente or the Bridge of the West which connects Santa Fe to another region. It's a suspension bridge that was partially built by a guy who studied in in Hoboken, New Jersey (not from New Jersey!) and worked on the Brooklyn Bridge. It was built in 1887 and was the longest suspension bridge on the continent at one point.
