10 Best Places to Live in Northern Ireland

What are the best cities to live in Northern Ireland? We don’t often hear about Northern Ireland as much as we do the three other provinces because it’s the least discussed. If the 4 nations making the kingdom are ranked in order of popularity, we could go like England, Scotland, and, Wales. That’s why many people don’t have an idea of what living in Northern Ireland, the fourth province of the UK is. This time, we want to discuss the 10 best places to live in Northern Ireland.
This will prove that the part of Ireland that remained in the UK since 1921 is not faring badly at all. Please enjoy the discussion about the best places to live in Northern Ireland.
10. Newtownards
Newtownards is a town, townland, and civil parish in County Down. It’s not far from Strangford Lough, another one of the best places to live in Northern Ireland that would be discussed later. Newtownards is at the northernmost tip of Strangford Lough. It is also 10 miles east of Belfast on the Ards Peninsula.
When Newtownards hit the headline on July 17, 2021, it was about the townland of Ballywatticock toward Mount Stewart, where temperature peaked 31.2 °C at 15:40. Besides that, it has a very low crime rate. The town has a lot of beautiful spots that can add colors to the quality of life. Places such as Movilla Abbey, Somme Heritage Center, and Mount Stewart attract people to this town. The town’s residents are also entertained by sporting activities such as rugby, cricket, football, and motor racing. It is one of the best places to live in Northern Ireland.
9. Fermanagh
Ireland's Lakeland County of Fermanagh is the next of the 10 best places to live in Northern Ireland. It’s one of the six counties of the region, bordering the Republic. The county is renowned for its boating and fishing. Once a legendary dry plain, Fermanagh was believed to have magic well at its center with widely held tales of two lovers. Of course, the story around it makes the county. The lakes of Lough Erne stretching through 50 miles over the county were believed to result from bubbles from the water.
If you live in Fermanagh, you’ll be living in the roots of some famous people, including writer Rudyard Kipling and former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and Ulysses Grant. Enniskillen, which we shall talk about later, is the county town of Fermanagh. You don’t generally hear about crime here and the cozy place has enough amenities.
8. Ballycastle
Let’s next consider Ballycastle, a small seaside town in County Antrim. Deriving its name from the Irish expression “Baile an Chaistil,” the “town of the castle” is on the north-easternmost coastal tip of the region of the United Kingdom. Its harbor plays host to the ferry to Rathlin Island quite visible from the coast.
Anyone living in Northern Ireland and desires a harbor town to live near the coast should consider living in Ballycastle. If you’ve ever heard anything about the best places to live in Northern Ireland, you’ll realize that Ballycastle is frequently mentioned in such lists. According to The Sunday Times, this seaside town is one of five places in Northern Ireland considered the best places to live in Britain. The publication crowns it as actually the best place to live in the province. It receives accolades for offering a better quality of life to the majority of the residents in areas of education, health, crime control, and house prices.

10 BEST beaches in Jersey, Channel Islands (+ AMAZING views)

#Jersey #ChannelIslamds #beaches
Jersey is well-known for it's sun, sea and sand so in this video we show you the very best of Jersey's beaches.

00:11 Grève de Lecq beach is on the boarder of the parishes of St. Mary and St. Ouen. Its golden sand, easy access and great facilities make it the most popular beach on Jersey's north coast.

00:37 Archirondel is a small pebble beach tucked away down a little lane in the north-eastern corner of the island. The bay faces East, making it perfect for a swim at sunrise. One of its most recognisable features is the Martello Tower which was originally built for artillery soldiers and has now been refurbished into holiday accommodation.

01:02 Heading South around the coast the next bay you come to is Anne Port, another pebbly beach popular in the early morning for those heading into the water. At the southern end of the bay is a rock face known as Geoffrey's Leap where legend has it criminals were executed by being thrown into the sea.

01:27 Officially named the Royal Bay of Grouville by Queen Victoria, this beach is more commonly known by locals as 'Long Beach'. With Mont Orgueil Castle at the Northern end it runs down the east coast of Jersey. Easy access and shallow water make it great for swimming although at low tide there's a long walk to the sea due to large tides.

02:02 At the Western end of the south coast is Portelet bay, with golden sand and clear shallow waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Portelet isn't easily accessible, but the adventurous are rewarded with amazing views! The most recognisable aspect of the bay is Janvrin's Tomb where a local sea captain, who's ship returned carrying the plague, is laid to rest having not been allowed to return to shore.

02:40 Ouaisne is a sheltered beach where you can swim safely. Kismet Cabana serves street food with live music in the summer. This area has historic links with smuggling and the pub in the bay is called the Old Smugglers Inn.

03:05 The island's most recognisable and popular beach is St. Brelade's Bay, with its white sand, safe, clear waters and palm-fringed promenade, it was voted in the top three best UK beaches on TripAdvisor. Its shallow waters make this beach the ideal place for swimming and water-sports.

✅ Bus (12a, 14, Beach Bus)

03:48 Beauport Bay is hidden just around the headland to the West of St. Brelade's but once you're there, it feels a whole world away. Getting there is an adventure in itself, down a steep pathway and steps from the small car park at the top but the climb down (and back up again afterwards) is definitely worth it. A strip of golden sand backs onto a pebble bank and the area directly behind the beach is a nature reserve. The crystal clear water here is perfect for swimming and a popular spot for boats. The lack of facilities here all add to the charm!

04:30 St. Ouen's Bay is the longest beach in Jersey and spans almost the entire west coast. With miles of clean white sand there's plenty of space for everyone. The rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean make this the best spot for surfing in Jersey and it even boasts one of the oldest surfing clubs in Europe. With its westerly aspect St. Ouen's is the place to be at sunset to relax and watch the sky turn golden over Corbiere lighthouse and La Rocco Tower.

✅ Cafe
✅ Toilets
✅ Carpark
✅ Bus (22)

05:20 Plémont, in the north west corner of the Island, is shouldered by high cliffs which house the Jersey's largest caves. The beach is hidden entirely by the sea at high tide and there's only a small window to enjoy golden sand and clean rock pools before the sea returns. It's accessed by a long staircase.

Greenland - Since 8 years I'm traveling to this magical country. Today quiet and untouched places are becoming more and more rare. On my first visit to Greenland, I was fascinated by the incredible power of nature that can be felt everywhere. But during the last years things have changed. The amount of icebergs is increasing savagely. Glaciers I'm visiting every year are retreating not meters but kilometers a year and the unending amount of ice seems to be endless. There is nothing more beautiful than an iceberg - everyone is unique and the light reflecting from its surface is magical. It's sad how close beauty and decay can be seen in an iceberg. This movie is is an appreciation to the ice - for me the most amazing aggregate state of water.

Behind the scenes
For this short film I travelled to Greenland with my drones several times. Always with the target of a certain region in a certain light situation. The shots from the calving glacier took me 4 days at the Eqi Glacier and over 70 battery charges for only 4 usable shots of a few seconds. It's a very hard intention to film the very right moment on a glacier front of about 6km wide - especially close up. But the hardest thing of flying in Greenland is the fact, that every 2-3 minutes the difference between the magnetic north and the geographic north (which are not the same place - especially so far north) causing a fatal p-gps flight error and the drone is flying away (also the camera's horizon). But at the end every single flight was worth it - filming Icebergs from above is one of the most beautiful things I've ever done. Additionally I used the drone to scout the landing spot and look for polar bears. The best thing for bears and humans is to not meet each other on shore.

Places to see in ( Heacham - UK )

Places to see in ( Heacham - UK )

Heacham is a town in West Norfolk, England, located beside The Wash, between King's Lynn, 14 miles to the south and Hunstanton, about 3 miles to the north. It has been a seaside resort for a century and a half. There is evidence of settlement in the Heacham area for around the last 5,000 years, with numerous Neolithic and later Bronze Age finds throughout the parish.

The name Heacham is more likely to have derived from the name of the river, The Hitch, in conjunction with the Old English word ham or hamm which meant either homestead, village, manor, estate or enclosure, land hemmed by water or marsh or higher ground, land in a river bend, river meadow, promontory. In 1085 the manor of Heacham was given by William de Warenne to a cell of Cluniac monks from the Priory of St Pancras of Lewes to pray for the soul of his late wife Gundreda. After the dissolution, around 1541, the manor passed to Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk.

Heacham has historic ties to Pocahontas, who married John Rolfe, a native of this village on 5 April 1614 at a church in Jamestown, Virginia. Rolfe took his wife, Rebecca (Pocahontas), and their two-year-old son, Thomas, to visit his family at Heacham Hall in 1616, but settled in Brentford. A year later, Rebecca died in Gravesend, when John was going to return her to Virginia. She was laid to rest at St George's parish churchyard. After that, John returned to Virginia with Tomocomo. Samuel Argall commanded the ship. Thomas was guarded by Lewis Stukley and later adopted by John's brother, Henry. John married Jane Pierce two years later. They soon had a daughter named Elizabeth. Perhaps John lost his life in the 1622 Native American massacre near Jamestown. The Rolfe family home, Heacham Hall, burned down in 1941.

Heacham started to become popular as a seaside resort with the Victorians due to the opening of the railway between King's Lynn and Hunstanton in the early 1860s. This culminated in the building of the Jubilee Bridge in 1887 to replace an old wooden bridge, using unspent subscriptions from parishioners to the celebrations for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Heacham is still popular today as a seaside resort. Both the North Beach (Jubilee) Road and South Beach Road are lined with caravan parks. The beaches at Heacham are situated on the east banks of The Wash; this means it is one of the few beaches in eastern England where the sun sets over the sea instead of over the land.

On 29 July 1929, Mercedes Gleitze became the first woman to swim The Wash, completing the crossing on her third attempt. Originally aiming for Hunstanton, she finally came ashore at Heacham after battling treacherous tides for over 13 hours. Heacham was severely affected by the North Sea flood of 1953, when nine people died after the sea broke through. In early 2013, an exhibition of the North Sea Flood was held at St Mary's Church, with contributions from Heacham infant and junior schools and from other villagers.

Norfolk Lavender Ltd was founded in 1932. Linn Chilvers supplied the plants and the labour. Francis Dusgate of Fring Hall provided the land. The first lavender field was planted on Dusgate's land at Fring and in 1936 Dusgate acquired Caley Mill on the River Heacham and the ground around it, not for the building but for the land. Lavender has been grown there ever since. A kiosk was erected from which bunches of lavender were sold to passing pre-war traffic. By 1936 Caley Mill was already disused and no significant repairs were carried out until 1953/4 after the new road (the A149) had been put through cutting the lavender field in half. At that time a new lay-by and kiosk were constructed. Further repairs and restoration work were carried out at the mill in 1977–78 and in the late 1980s. Since the early 1990s it has broadened its range to include other typical English floral fragrances. These are sold at home and abroad.

( Heacham - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Heacham . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Heacham - UK
