10 Things to do in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province

South Africa’s ‘wild’ province, the Eastern Cape features expanses of untouched beach, bush and forest. It is an area with some enticing attractions – pristine beaches, abundant wildlife and spectacular scenery.

Its natural diversity is impressive: the Eastern Cape incorporates parts of all seven ecological zones that occur in South Africa. It also features all three of the country's biodiversity regions, which is further enhanced by its 820km of untamed coastline. This ensures an assortment of plant and animal species, including the Big Five, abundant birdlife and rich marine life (including 27 species of whales and dolphins).

The province offers something for everyone: for the adrenaline addict there’s tubing down the Storm’s River Gorge, skydiving in Grahamstown and taking the plunge off the Bloukrans Bridge on the world’s highest commercially operated bridge bungee; outdoor enthusiasts can try spot the Big Seven or enjoy pristine beaches.

Welcome to our channel, SA Today! We will try and upload a video for you every day or the third day from somewhere around South Africa (SA) where we travel. We live in the platteland but try and see as much as we can of South Africa. Join us on a journey as we explore the beauty of South Africa through daily video captures. From breathtaking landscapes to vibrant cities, we showcase the diversity and charm of our country and a little bit of Namibia.

Subscribe and come along for the adventure!

We want to show our viewers as many places as we can across the country worth visiting. South Africa is a large country, and only some locals know where all these places are, we therefore add a map that we created to show where the video was captured more or less. We also try and provide some history on many of the towns, museums and events on that day in South Africa. We take pride in bringing original and captivating videos that will leave you in awe.

Also in this video, we watch a beautiful sunset next to a wind pump near Cradock, visit the Christmas shop in Glenfair shopping centre in Pretoria, stand next to the Vaal River between Leeudoringstad and Bothaville in the Free State, show you the St Francis Lighthouse and we end the video today driving past Delmas in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

The Milner Luxury Guesthouse - Makhanda (Grahamstown), South Africa

We had come back early from our exploration; the sun was shining, winter was beginning to fade and we had just picked up some of our favourite snacks. We took off our jackets and sat down to relax in the garden. Pure bliss is what I felt. Soaking up the sun, gazing at the blue pool in front of us.

Soon we would go out for dinner and then arrive back here where all that was left to do was snuggle up in the enormous and comfy bed.

There's a standard we've come to expect from the Oyster Collection properties, and The Milner Luxury Guest House did not disappoint!

Love,
Byron & Tammy.
