Gloucester and Rockport - Coastal Massachusetts Towns
Gloucester and Rockport are two great coastal Massachusetts towns to visit. Located within an hour away from Boston, they offer quite a lot from beautiful lighthouses and coastal landscapes to shops and restaurants. I first check out Gloucester and check out the different sights including the Eastern Point Lighthouse, the Gloucester Fisherman's Memorial, and Stage Fort Park along with exploring the beautiful downtown area. Later, I drive into the town of Rockport to explore the small downtown located along the water while also enjoy a fresh lobster roll from Roy Moore Lobster Co.

To this day despite becoming a popular tourist destination for travelers it still holds true to its seaward fishing roots on the Atlantic Ocean. Located a few miles North of Boston, Massachusetts, Gloucester was first settled in 1623 and became the first fishing and seaport was established on the North Shore of Massachusetts. A solemn reminder to those lost at sea Man at the Wheel, the Fisherman's Memorial & The Widow's Memorial, honor those who gave their life to the sea to never return home and to the wives left wondering if their partner would find their way home.
I hope you enjoy the scenic walk along the waterfront walk in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Starting in Gloucester, MA the Cape Ann Scenic Drive hugs the outline of Cape Ann on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean through Rockport, MA and back to Gloucester. Enjoy the stunning views of their famous rocky shores, ocean waves, and seaside marshes all lined by luxury homes to early settlement homes. Gloucester is a famous tourist destination on the northern shore just an hour north of Boston, Massachusetts. Not known for its beaches it is more known for its immense fishing culture, whale watches, and historical significance as the oldest seaport in the United States.
