Tripping on Travel: Gunstock Mountain Resort IMAGES, Gilford, NH
We end our visit to Gunstock Mountain Resort with a series of frames and images from the video footage I captured that day, October 28, 2023. The beautiful fall colors of the natural surrounding that day will be an environment I won't soon forget.
According to Wikipedia, Gilford, NH was Settled in 1778 and originally a part of Gilmanton, the town was first called Gunstock Parish. But a military officer residing there in 1812, who had fought in the Revolutionary War, successfully had the town's name changed to reflect a battle from the war. And it became Gilford, New Hampshire. A New Deal agency, one of many that provided employment and created public works projects in the United States during the Great Depression, is credited with building it. But it was first named the Belknap Mountain Recreation Area. The ski resort had the first chairlift in the eastern United States. After the completion of the 60-meter ski jump, the first meet was held in February 1937. As the website for the Gunstock Mountain Resort explains, they offer a nice selection of several skiing activities that serve the novice skier, as well as the experienced athlete.

Ela é bastante conhecida por seus mirantes e pelo espetáculo das cores no outono, quando as folhas das árvores mudam de cor, criando uma paisagem deslumbrante. A estrada é uma atração turística muito popular e oferece diversas opções de atividades, como caminhadas, piqueniques e etc.
3 - Lake Winnipesaukee
O Lake Winnipesaukee possui uma área de aproximadamente 186 km². É o maior lago do estado e é cercado por diversas cidades e vilas, incluindo Laconia, Meredith e Gilford. O lago é bastante popular entre os turistas que visitam a região, oferecendo diversas atividades recreativas como natação, pesca, canoagem, jet ski, entre outras. Além disso, a área é cercada por montanhas e diversas trilhas, o que a torna popular para caminhadas e acampamentos.
4 - Franconia Notch State Park
O parque fica na região das White Mountains e oferece diversas atividades ao ar livre, como caminhadas, escaladas, camping e ciclismo de montanha. É um parque estadual com belas paisagens naturais, como as formações rochosas Cannon Mountain e Flume Gorge.
5 - Portsmouth
Portsmouth é uma cidade costeira histórica que remonta ao século XVII. É um excelente lugar para quem busca desfrutar de uma rica cultura histórica e de praias agradáveis como a Hampton Beach, em New Hampshire. Também possui muitas lojas, restaurantes e museus interessantes.
6 - White Mountain National Forest
O White Mountain National Forest é uma floresta nacional que se estende por cerca de 1.225 km². A floresta é uma das principais atrações turísticas da região e oferece diversas atividades ao ar livre, como caminhadas, acampamentos, pesca, canoagem, ciclismo de montanha e observação de vida selvagem.
7 - Story Land
Inaugurado em 1954, o Story Land é um parque temático voltado para crianças. O parque oferece diversas atrações, incluindo montanhas-russas, carrosséis, shows, playgrounds e áreas temáticas com personagens de contos de fadas, como Cinderela e Branca de Neve. O parque é cercado por belas paisagens, com montanhas e florestas.
8 - Strawbery Banke Museum
O Strawbery Banke Museum é um museu histórico que ocupa um complexo de cerca de 40 prédios históricos e mostra a vida em Portsmouth durante os séculos XVII , XVIII e XIX. O museu apresenta aos visitantes informações sobre a história local, de costumes e tradições.
9 - Mount Monadnock
O Mount Monadnock é uma montanha com aproximadamente 965 metros. É uma das montanhas mais visitadas da região e oferece diversas trilhas para caminhadas de diferentes níveis de dificuldade. A montanha oferece vistas espetaculares do topo.
10 - Lake Sunapee
O Lago Sunapee possui uma área de cerca de 17,7 km². É um destino turístico popular e oferece diversas atividades ao ar livre, como natação, passeios de barco, pesca e esportes aquáticos. A região ao redor do lago possui belas paisagens naturais, com várias trilhas para caminhadas e oportunidades de observação da vida selvagem.

Castle in the Clouds | Full Tour + Waterfall Hike + Basement Tour | Moultonborough New Hampshire
On our way back to the White Mountains we stopped to tour the Lucknow Mansion and hike the grounds. Known as the Castle in the Clouds, this lovely mansion also has an extra tour through the basement.
