If you’re a bit more on the adventurous side, check out activities like diving the wreck of the Kittiwake. Grand Cayman is famous as a scuba diving destination and the wreck of the USS Kittiwake is one of the top spots to dive. Or descend into the 1000-year-old Crystal Caves and see the majestic limestone rock formations.
If you lean toward less adventurous outdoor activities, try hiking the Majestic Trail. The humidity gets pretty high and you’ll need to lather on some insect repellant to keep the bugs away but it’s a great spot to see the natural beauty of Grand Cayman without too many crowds. Or for an even more leisurely outdoor activity, spend a few hours strolling around George Town.
One of the must-see things to do in Grand Cayman is Seven Mile Beach. The beach, which is really only about five and a half miles long, is considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Snorkel its crystal-clear waters, try stand-up paddleboarding, or enjoy a meal at one of the bars or casual restaurants along the beach.

Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park one of the best places to visit in the Bahamas
The best snorkeling spot in the Bahamas, it is hard to pick one as there are hundreds, but in this park you will find several. A family favorite is the snorkel spot called the Aquarium. Aptly named as it is like snorkeling in an aquarium. Join Barry Berhoff as we visit Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park. This top attraction in the Bahamas is a 176-square-mile known for its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages, and breathtaking marine environment. Looking for a place to be on the hook, a cave to explore, or how about pirates? Yes, pirates! Besides a real section of the park called Pirates lair that was a hideout for real pirates, some scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean were in the Exumas as well. The pale sand beach, where they discover – and fight over – the titular chest, is a sandbar a couple of miles south of Sandy Cay (confusingly, it’s also known as White Cay), southeast of William’s Town, off Hog Cay. Accessible only by water, it’s a short boat ride from Little Exuma.

Though the city is already located on a rather large Caribbean island, one of the most popular things to do in Nassau, Bahamas, once you step off that cruise ship is head to a smaller offshore island! And there are pristine islets to choose from. Two of the most visited include Blue Lagoon Island, where you can swim with dolphins, and Atlantis Paradise Island, where you can shop, dine, hit the casino, or splash around in the waterpark. If you want to snorkel or dive, Nassau has you covered, too! For example, the warm waters of the Clifton Heritage National Park are packed with incredible coral reefs, an underwater sculpture garden, and shipwrecks. In fact, at least one of the Jaws films was shot here! If exploring the culture and history of a place are more your thing, there are plenty of things to do in Nassau, Bahamas.
You can walk the plank into the city’s days as a pirate nation at the Pirates of Nassau Museum, dance your way into the fascinating culture of Junkanoo at the Educulture Junkanoo Museum or pay tribute to the Bahamas’ enslaved people by climbing the Queen’s Stairs. What to Expect from George Town, Bahamas — Sailing Uma [Step 165]
So much going on and one day blurring into the next. From what you've seen in the previous step (floating pole dancing and almost winning a poker game) to hiking to the top of the island, our time in George Town has been hectic. But it was so much fun to immerse ourselves into this giant sailing community, it was sad to say goodby and we ended our short stay with a bonfire potluck meetup, surrounded by amazing human beings.
