GETTING AROUND IN TURKEY ISTANBUL
Here is my best travel in Turkey Istanbul for 12 hour stop over.
From Kilimanjaro, we had a stop in turkey as I always wanted to visit the city of Istanbul.
There are few things you can do to make use of your travel.
We arrive at lunch around 11 am. We head for lunch on the street as you can see on my video.
We then went to Bazaar Market. My husband get hook with the carpet seller man
Be careful when you get approach of person in Istanbul. They will never let you go out of their promises until you buy something. And the price is double than you get the same quality along the street.
However, we enjoy our walk. We maximise our 12 hour stop over. We went to a boat ride and we enjoy the whole city.
So here are 10 best things you can do if you have a day stop over in Istanbul.
1. Leave your hand carry luggage at the airport for USD 25. at the airport itself.
2.try the different street food
3. Don't ride along the street. Walk the straits of Istanbul. From Bazaar Market to the Bosphorus Bridge where the Europe and Asia connect by this bridge.
4. Drink turkish Tea
5. Take a video - a photographs this days is no longer enough. Then upload your video here on Youtube and monetise it.

Sultan Ahmet Camii (also known as the Blue Mosque) is one of Istanbul's most famous mosques. The mosque is located in Sultanahmet Square and is opposite the Hagia Sophia Mosque. [1] [2] ] [3] Built by Sultan Ahmed I, the mosque is famous for its distinctive architecture, which is one of the most important mosques in the Islamic world.
The mosque was built between 1018 and 1026 AH / 1609-1616 by one of the engravings on one of its doors. His engineer Mohammed Agha is the most famous Turkish architect after Sinan Pasha and David Agha. The mosque is located south of Hagia Sophia and east of the ancient Byzantine racecourse. And has a high wall surrounded by three sides, and the fence five doors, three of them lead to the courtyard of the mosque and two to the prayer hall.
The saucer consists of a large courtyard, and in the center of the dish is a hexagonal pan mounted on six columns. The largest door leading to the dish shows the influence of Persian art.

One of the largest and oldest covered bazaars in the world, the Grand Bazaar is 30,700 square meters with over 60 streets and alleys and 4,000 shops. The original historical core of the bazaar, İç Bedesten, was completed by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1461. A “bedesten” refers to an indoor arcade with shops and there are several areas within the bazaar referred to by this name.
Over the years, the Grand Bazaar expanded from this core of two bedestens to become a sprawling roofed complex of thousands of shops, fringed by the tradesmen’s inns and workshops known as hans. According to the Ottoman traveler Evliya Çelebi’s Seyahatname, by the seventeenth century the Kapalı Çarşı (or the Çarşı-yı-Kebir as it was known at the time) had reached its present size, with over 4,000 shops and nearly 500 stalls known in Turkish as dolap (literally translated to “cupboard”).
In addition, there were various other amenities for the merchants who worked there: restaurants, a hammam, and a mosque, as well as at least 10 smaller mescits, or prayer rooms. Today, this city-within-a-city contains a police station, a health dispensary, a post office, branches of most major banks, and a tourist information center.
In comparison with street names in the English-speaking world, those in Turkey are often very descriptive. The street names in the Grand Bazaar—referring to their original functions—are no exception. Takkeciler Caddesi is literally “Skullcap-makers’ Street” as takke means skullcap; Aynacılar Sokak was for sellers of ayna, or mirrors; Halıcılar Caddesi was where halı, or carpets, were sold; and Keseciler Caddesi was for vendors of the kese, the rough exfoliating cloth used in a hammam.
If your time is limited and depending on what you are looking for, exploring the area around a particular gate can be helpful. Jewelry shoppers might find it easiest to enter through the Beyazıt Gate and follow Kalpakcılar Caddesi, which is the main walkway connecting it with the Nuruosmaniye Gate. Leaving the complex through that gate will take you to Nuruosmaniye Caddesi, with many interesting stores. Zincirli Han is a must visit not only for carpet shoppers but also history enthusiasts. The easiest way to get there is through the Nuruosmaniye Gate, following the directions towards the Mercan Gate. If you are unable to communicate with the assistance at the entrance, simply follow Kalpakcılar Caddesi, passing by the entrance to Sandal Bedesten, and make a right at Terzibaşı Sokak, continuing to walk straight down as you follow the signs.
Trying to see the entire Grand Bazaar in one afternoon is an unrealistic task. With this in mind, it is best to experience the Grand Bazaar at a leisurely pace, not by rushing from one shop to the next. The eventual purchase is not as important as the process and the relationship that will be established between the vendor and yourself. Chatting and bargaining with the sellers, who often are fluent in more than one language, is what makes the Grand Bazaar experience different. Dozens of stores lined up next to each other sell similar products, making haggling and customer service crucial.

????????♀️Today I invite you to go to Cappadocia and walk with me through the ancient Uchisar castle.
You will see the castle from a bird's eye view, we will take a walk in its surroundings and go up to the observation deck, which offers a beautiful view of the valleys of Cappadocia.
This fortress is considered one of the best preserved ancient defensive structures.
The territory of Cappadocia is rich in rock formations that stand apart from each other. They all have the same origin. There are three volcanoes in this area: Melendiz, Hasan and Erciyes, which erupted very actively in the past. Basalt and tuff, formed from solidified lava and ash, gradually turned into rocks.
Soft rocks were washed away by rain, destroyed by wind and erosion processes. The basalt is much better preserved.
As a result of these processes, free-standing rocks arose, which were used in the distant past to build fortifications.
According to historians, Uchisar was built and used as a citadel by the Hittites in the 19th–12th centuries BC.
The fortress continued to serve as a defensive structure during the period when the area belonged to the Romans and later to the Byzantines. From the end of the 14th century, the Ottoman Turks became the owners of the citadel.
In the 15th century, about 3 thousand people lived in rooms carved into the rocks.
In the 17th–19th centuries, people began to settle around the citadel. This is how the city began to take shape. The Turks continued to live in rock chambers until the 1960s.
People had to leave the citadel due to the increased danger of collapse.
Now the citadel rises above the city of the same name and is clearly visible from different points in the surrounding area.
The height of the rock fortress is about 60 m.
From the western side, the citadel looks like a large monolith.
If you count the height of the fortress from sea level, it will be 1.35 thousand m.
This is the highest point in Cappadocia.
Inside the citadel, rooms and corridors connecting them have been preserved. Some of the rooms are available for inspection. Tourists see niches carved into the rock walls for shelves and beds.
So that tourists can climb directly to the top of the fortress, there is a long stone staircase with metal railings.
In the evenings in clear weather, you can admire the bright colors of sunsets from the observation deck.
Experienced tourists advise coming here with a camera or smartphone, as well as your own binoculars.
In the evenings, the lights turn on, turning the fortress into a fairytale castle.
Below, next to the citadel, there is a small market where vegetables, souvenirs and fruits are sold.
