The region of Frenda (Algeria), which is territorially under the prefecture of Tiaret, is a historical region, which saw in the fourteenth century the visit of the founder of sociology Ibn Khaldun, where he composed the famous (introduction on the heights of the plateau of Taghazout which contains the caves that served as a refuge.

La région de Frenda, qui relève territoirement à la préfecture de Tiaret (Algérie), est une région historique, qui a vu au XIVe siècle la visite du fondateur de la sociologie Ibn Khaldoun, où il a composé la fameuse Muqaddima (introduction) sur les hauteurs du plateau de Taghazout qui abrite la grotte qui fut son refuge.
