Medellín ( is the capital of the department of Antioquia ( Antioquia is a department in northeastern Colombia, full of tourist places and towns that are worth visiting.
When going to Medellín it is necessary to visit the destinations around the city. For example, Guatapé ( and El Peñol are must go destinations. Guatapé is the most colorful town in Colombia and is 2 hours by car from Medellín. There is La Piedra del Peñol ( a giant rock that can be climbed and is located next to the Guatapé Reservoir (
Another important town near Medellín is Santa Fé de Antioquia ( In fact, it is a UNESCO Heritage Town of Colombia ( Located an hour and a half by car from Medellín. Other of the Heritage Towns of Antioquia is Jardín ( and Jericó ( Jardín is located three hours by car from Medellín, a town surrounded by mountains and with great biodiversity, characteristic of Colombia. For its part, Jericó is considered the most beautiful town in Antioquia and is located two and a half hours by car from Medellín.
Other plans you can do on your visit to Medellín is to go to a coffee farm and take a coffee tour. An hour and a half by car from Medellín is Fredonia ( there you can spend a few nights at Hacienda La Sierra ( a coffee farm in Antioquia where you can take a tour of the coffee plantations, you can even plant your own tree.

7-Day Tour of Colombia Coffee Country - Jardin, Salento, and Fredonia
After living in Medellin for 3 months, we booked this amazing 7-day tour of Colombia Coffee Country with the help of our friends and locals. It was perfect.
Despite some off-roading in our rental car, the food, accommodations, coffee Finca tours, and hikes were incredible. If you're planning to visit Colombia Coffee Country, we highly recommend the below.
Rent a car in Medellin through Triple A Solutions. Get an SUV with 4x4. Stay in El Poblado at 14 Urban Hotel for 1 night.
In the morning, travel to Jardin where you'll do a Finca tour with Margus. They do an amazing job! In Jardin, enjoy the city center, but don't sleep there (it's loud). Instead, stay at 40 Amigos Hotel for 1 night.
In the morning, take a sketchy dirt road through the mountains/jungle on your way to Salento. Spend three nights in Salento at El Cairo Hacienda. While in Salento, go shopping, eat at Cafe Bernabe Gourmet, Acaime, and at the Hacienda. Book a premium 3-hour coffee tour with Finca El Ocasa. Spend a day hiking in the wax palms. Play Tejos. Lastly, hike the waterfall behind the Hacienda. It's very nice.
After breakfast on the last day, drive to Fredonia and spend the night at La Hacienda La Sierra. It's VIP and everything was excellent. The views especially. After a horseback ride and lunch the next day, drive back to Medellin for the night.

Medellin Colombia ( is known as The City of Eternal Spring and was founded in 1616. Currently, Medellin is the second most populated city in Colombia, after Bogotá. It is also one of the cities in Colombia most visited by tourists, thanks to its cultural activities, the warmth of its people and the beautiful colonial towns near Medellin.
One of the best known places in Medellin by tourists is Parque Lleras, although it is more visited by backpackers and is one of the tourist areas of Medellin. Another important area in Medellin is El Poblado.

In this last Medellín video, we finish off our stay with our tia near Fredonia, where we visit a near by town with the name La Mina. Once back in Medellin, we book our Paragliding excursion in San Felix, but unfortunately, the weather changes our plans. So we head to a Truchera in San Jose, and stop at a viewpoint called Entrerios on the way. Next, we head of to another family member's farm, this time its a dairy farm! Where I end up dislocating my knee. Now unable to go Paragliding, we end up finishing our time in Medellin by going to our favorite restaurant here..Carmen.

Things To Do In Medellin Colombia 2019
Things to do in Medellin Colombia 2019, is probably the first thing you'll do when getting settled in Medellin. Things to do in Medellin will be your best search term. Moving to Medellin Colombia is a big step if you haven't been here before, but once you're settled you'll be on the look out for ,Medellin Tours. Get over to Sweet Georgia Cafe to find out how to get a private driver or what's the best tour guide in Medellin. Guatape medellin will be at the top of the list of places to visit. A medellin coffee tour or a coffee tour outside of the city such as to Jardin will be a good choice. Medellin salsa has to be on the list if you're going to be here for any period of time. Medellin mountain climbing is a good tour that you can find on such sites as AirBnB for activities. Better be fit for this one and Guatape El Pinol, as there's less air up there people.
Living in Medellin Colombia can be fun. Remember if you want to try salsa dancing, check out dancefree medellin which is in Poblado and probably the first stop for salsa dancing, as they have free group classes during the happy hour period of time. Pueblito Paisa medellin is a must see, especially because it's free, if I recall correctly. If not, it's not much. Parque lleras Medellin is of course the first place tourist go in Medellin. Ok, after a few times, that should do you. Unless you're expecting visitors. But it gets old pretty quickly. Parque Botero is another must visit when near downtown Medellin. And Comuna 13 Medellin is a good visit in a group setting. My favorite experience while in Medellin has to be Medellin paragliding. Paragliding in Medellin was an incredible experience that you must try. Well, if you're daring. A visit to Sweet Georgia Cafe Medellin is a must if you're planning a Trip to Medellin,Colombia.Travel to Medellin has never been cheaper too. Well, if you're from the US anyway. Travel to Medellin Colombia should be on anyone short list when visiting South America. Colombia travel in general is strong now.

En este video quiero mostrarles los al redores y sitios emblemáticos del pueblo.
Támesis es un municipio de Colombia, localizado en la subregión Suroeste del departamento de Antioquia. Limita por el norte con los municipios de Jericó y Fredonia, por el este con el municipio de Valparaíso, por el sur con los municipios de Caramanta y Jardín y además con el departamento de Caldas, y limita por el oeste con los municipios de Jardín y Jericó. Esta Conformado por dos corregimientos, 37 veredas y un resguardo indígena denominado Miguel Cértiga Tascón.
Támesis is a municipality in Colombia, located in the Southwest subregion of the department of Antioquia. It limits to the north with the municipalities of Jericó and Fredonia, to the east with the municipality of Valparaíso, to the south with the municipalities of Caramanta and Jardín and also with the department of Caldas, and limits to the west with the municipalities of Jardín and Jericho. It is made up of two townships, 37 villages and an indigenous reserve called Miguel Cértiga Tascón.

Buenavista is a small municipal in the department of Quindío. Located in the Andean region, Quindío lies in the country’s center, slightly to the west. The area borders Risaralda to the north, Tolima to the east, and Valle del Cauca to the west. The department forms part of the eje cafetero and thus is a cultural, economic, and ecological hot spot for Colombia tourism.
Buenavista is located about 47 minutes form the capital Armenia From Buenavista you have a great outlook over the valley of Quindío and the majority of the northern part of the Valle del Cauca. Thus, the place really lives up to its name, “Good Views”.
As you can imagine, the coffee plantations are the principal attraction in the Coffee Triangle, and we decide to visit the San Alberto Farm Here, we discovered one of the finest coffees in all of Colombia. After our coffee tasting, we visited the continued to explore the other areas in the coffee triangle.

WHY ARE WE BACK?
Having spent all of 2019 out of our backpacks across the world from South America to South East Asia, (and running out of money) we decided it was time for us to head home to Melbourne. Apparently we made it back just in time for us to escape the Coronavirus pandemic and be in the safety of our house. So for now, we'll be making vids from our bedrooms! Stay tuned :)

WHO WE ARE?
We're Christopher & Laura, an Australian and Canadian couple who quit our jobs in late 2018 and sold it all in exchange for the adventure of a lifetime!! Last year we spent the entire year abroad travelling from South America through to South East Asia!
We're back home now in sunny Melbourne, amid the Coronavirus lockdown our travel plans have been postponed for now, but that wont be stopping us from getting out exploring, creating more content for you :)
