Things to Know about Visiting BOSTON | Boston Travel Guide

Boston is home to amazing history, beautiful parks, delicious food, awesome sports, and many other cool attractions. Boston is the largest city in not only the state of Massachusetts but also all of New England. The city has endless opportunities for everyone to enjoy. This Boston travel guide will dig deep into the things to know about visiting Boston.

Getting to Boston - The most common way to get into Boston is through Boston Logan Airport, the main airport in Boston. Other options include by train (Amtrak, MBTA commuter rails, etc.) and by car (I-95, I-93, I-90).

Getting Around Boston - Boston has excellent public transportation with the MBTA including the subways, buses, and ferries. You may use either a CharlieCard or a CharlieTicket to pay for fares. In addition, you can also get around the city by bike or by walking. Boston is a very walkable city, and it is highly advised NOT to drive around the city.

Freedom Trail - The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile history walk going by many historical sites starting from Boston Common and ending over at Bunker Hill Monument. Follow the red bricks as it takes you by many historic sites including Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's House, and the USS Constitution.

Neighborhoods & Attractions - Each neighborhood in Boston offers unique attractions and restaurants. I check out the different neighborhoods from Downtown, Beacon Hill, the Seaport, and North End to Back Bay and Fenway/Kenmore and talk about the cool things you can do there.

Parks - Boston is home to beautiful, historic parks including (but not limited to) Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden.

Hotels - Hotels may be found all over the city of Boston including over in Cambridge near Harvard and MIT where you may find some lower-cost options.

Food - Boston is a foodie city, and you will find some amazing restaurants serving great food from seafood and pub fare to Italian food and budget-friendly options.

Sports - Boston has plenty of sports teams from the Boston Red Sox (baseball) to the Boston Celtics (basketball) and the Boston Bruins (hockey). Make sure to catch a game either at Fenway Park or at TD Garden! For football, the New England Patriots play away from the city down in Foxborough.

Safety - Boston is one of the safest large cities in the United States. I have been to Boston several times, and I have not run into any problems. It is advised to be extra careful in southern neighborhoods such as Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan especially at night.

Getting Out of Boston - Boston is a gateway to the rest of New England as you can head out to visit other cool areas of Boston from Gloucester and Salem to Cape Cod. The freeways leading out of the city can also take you to the neighboring states of New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Maine.

Downtown Boston is the central business district of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The city of Boston was founded in 1630. The largest of the city's commercial districts, Downtown is the location of many corporate or regional headquarters; city, county, state and federal government facilities; and many of Boston's tourist attractions. Similar to other central business districts in the U.S., Downtown has recently undergone a transformation that included the construction of new condos and lofts, renovation of historic buildings, and arrival of new residents and businesses. It is represented in the Boston City Council by District 2's Bill Linehan.
Downtown is bound by the Back Bay, North End, Beacon Hill, and the South End areas. It includes Government Center and the Financial District.

The area that is now Downtown Boston constituted much of the town/city proper prior to the city's dramatic expansion in the 1860s and 1870s. The Great Boston Fire of 1872 destroyed much of the neighborhood, especially between Summer, Washington, and Milk Streets. In the 1950s the Central Artery highway began operating, until the Big Dig (1982-2007) relocated it underground. In the 1960s and 1970s the enormous new Government Center complex replaced Scollay Square.

Landmarks in Downtown Boston include the Greenway, Custom House Tower, City Hall, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, Old State House, Old South Meeting House, Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, Boston Common, and Boston Public Garden.
Educational institutions located downtown include Emerson College and Suffolk University.
The four MBTA subway lines converge in the downtown area at the Downtown Crossing, Park Street, Government Center, and State stations. South Station is a transportation hub with subway, commuter rail, intercity bus, and Amtrak service.

Branson - The Don'ts of Visiting Branson, Missouri

Described as the Las Vegas of the midwest (for the shows, not the gambling) Branson is a popular tourist destination with over the top tourist attractions set near some incredible natural beauty with the Ozarks nearby. Whether you are going to watch the fire works on the river, zipline, or see a show there is a lot to do in Branson, there is also a lot of things NOT to do in Branson, Missouri.

Foxborough Massachusetts (MA) Real Estate Tour

Tour Foxborough, MA neighborhoods, condominium developments, subdivisions, schools, landmarks, recreational areas, and town offices.

Foxborough, Massachusetts is a growing community known to its residents as the gem of Norfolk County. The town is the home of the New England Patriots National Football League franchise. The beloved Patriots have played at Foxborough Stadium and then at Gilette Stadium (which replaced it in 2002) on Route One since the former's opening in 1972.

Foxborough Harness Raceway, adjacent to the stadium, is the only New England track that hosts harness racing. This facility has been a fixture since the early 1940s. While Foxborough is proud of these and other high profile businesses, the town also prides itself on its rural atmosphere.

Foxborough has been extremely successful in maintaining its small-town image and rural characteristics while providing for significant growth. Foxborough boasts a significant amount of protected land, including the 700-acre Foxborough State Forest and an additional 1700 acres owned by the town. Foxborough prides itself on a long-standing sense of community rooted in its close-knit neighborhoods.

Civic and sports organizations also play a major role in promoting and maintaining community spirit. Annual festivities include Founder's Day, complete with a parade and high school band, a haunted house and pancake breakfast; events such as this are attended by thousands. The continued success of many fund-raising events is just one example of Foxborough's civic pride.

Residents are particularly proud of the fact that Foxborough High School is renowned for its strong sports tradition, with the football team a perennial contender for the Division Championship. For other town tours visit . You can also check out our experience/recommendations regarding New York City here:

Boston is one of the best cities I visited so far, it’s America’s walkable city so even if you have only a couple of days to spend there, you can do/see a lot of things. The history of this city is amazing, so you can learn a lot about the american history here.
If you’re a sports addict as I am, then this city is perfect to visit, one of the nicknames of Boston is “the city of champions”because of their great history in all the major american sports.
TRANSPORTATION: Boston is. walkable city as I said before, so if you're there just for visiting you can walk from one place to another one and enjoy this amazing city.
Use the grey bus for city tour as it is a hop on, hop off bus and you can enjoy all the places you want to visit.
If you're in a hurry, you can use uber/lyft as they are not expensive at all, always check both apps as you could get a better deal depending on the trip.
ACCOMODATION: always check airbnb, booking or orbitz and try to book it as soon as possbile.
MAIN OBJECTIVES/EVENTS TICKETS: Regarding the tickets, I would recommend you to buy your tickets online, as usually you would save time skipping lines and also you can get better deals.
Try to buy your tickets as early as you can!
This guide is perfect especially if you are visiting through the Work & travel program and you’ve got a limited time to spend there but not only for that.
Keep in mind that this is not necessarily the top order, it’s just an enumeration, after you see the video, you can decide wich is the right order for yourself.

I hope all this information proves to be useful! If so, please LIKE/SUBSCRIBE/SHARE.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ????
