The Beauty of Galicia - 4K Aerial Video from the North of Spain
Galicia, an autonomous community in Spain’s northwest, is a verdant region with an Atlantic coastline. The cathedral of regional capital Santiago de Compostela is the reputed burial place of the biblical apostle Saint James the Great, and the destination for those following the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. The western cliffs of Cape Finisterre were considered by the Romans to be the end of the known world.
Another stunnig place in this video is the beautiful Praia Mar de Fóra beach, the Cascada del Ezaro waterfall or the Beach of Cathedrals - a spectacular example of the raw power of nature! Natural arches, some as high as 30 metres and cave systems have all been formed by the Cantabrian Sea.

Santiago de Compostela – Finisterre/Muxía | cut version
Timelapse video of the Camino Finisterre, starting in Santiago de Compostela and going all the way to Muxía. This is a shorter cut version, the full étapes are hopefully going to be uploaded in the coming weeks (4 étapes to Muxía).
Filmed in April 2022.
After many journeys on the Camino de Santiago in the past ten years, this time the focus lies on the video project. Thus not a lot of stopping and exploring during the étapes (some breaks and encounters are cut out).

Have you ever heard about Camino de Finisterre? The end of the world?
After finishing Camino de Santiago (Portugues way) I couldn't stop walking so I decided to be a pilgrim for 3 more days and walk from Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra/Finisterre.
Camino Finisterre is my favorite Camino, it was so lush and beautiful and definitely the most challenging one. Galicia is a mountainous place with many hills, ups, and downs.
Thank you everyone for watching my videos, I appreciate every single one of you! I sometimes feel like I am not a solo traveler as long as I got you!

Finisterre is a cape located on the Spanish Atlantic coast, in the Galician municipality of Finisterre. Cape Finisterre forms a rocky granite peninsula located on the Costa de la Muerte, in Galicia.
In Roman times it was believed to be the end of the known world.
Cape Finisterre is currently the best destination for many pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, since it is 90 km from Santiago de Compostela.
The pilgrims continue to Mugía, one more day's walk and thus reach the corporal.

Ademas por este pintoresco pueblo transita el camino desde Santiago de Compostela hacia Finisterre o Fisterra.

Descubrimos muchos pueblos mágicos hasta llegar al Faro de Finisterre para terminar pasando la noche en Muxia.

Sin dudas fue un viaje mágico en el que descubrimos pueblos tan hermosos como Ponte Maceira y siempre en buena compañia , con la amabilidad que suele caracterizar a la mayoría de los españoles.

Eine Mischung aus Irland, Norwegen und der Karibik – das ist Galicien, Spaniens grüner Norden mit keltischem Erbe. Judith Rakers erkundet die hohe Steilküste, Naturparks mit Wasserfällen und dichten Wäldern, fjordähnliche Meeresarme und die traumhaften Strände des unbewohnten Inselparadieses Islas Cies. Auf dem Jakobsweg pilgert sie nach Santiago de Compostela und besucht die beeindruckende Kathedrale. Das Waldgebiet um den Rio Tambre zählt zu den besterhaltenen atlantischen Küstenwäldern in Europa: Tiefe Schluchten, grüne Wälder, ein einzigartiges Tierreich und eine Kajaktour warten auf Judith Rakers. Der Praia das Catedrais wird bei Ebbe zum Naturwunder: Dann erheben sich am Strand die bis zu 30 Meter hohen Felsen wie gotische Kathedralen aus dem Wasser.
Auf dem Jakobsweg von Santiago de Compostela ans Ende der Welt
Die Kathedrale von Santiago de Compostela ist das Wahrzeichen von Galicien – und das Ziel von Millionen von Pilgern. Judith Rakers bekommt eine private Führung, nimmt am Gottesdienst teil und lernt die religiösen Hintergründe einer Pilgerreise kennen. Warum sich Menschen überhaupt auf den Jakobsweg begeben, erfährt sie auf dem Weg zum Kap von Finisterre – dem Ende der Welt.
Von spanischen Dudelsäcken und kostbaren Entenmuscheln
Ein musikalisches Erbe der Kelten ist die Gaita, der traditionelle spanische Dudelsack. Judith Rakers trifft Susana Seivane, die mit ihrer Gaita-Musik zum Folkrockstar wurde. Ihre Familie baut das traditionsreiche Instrument seit Generationen und zeigt Judith, wie es geht. Eine weitere Spezialität Galiciens sind die Entenmuscheln. Die Delikatesse kostet bis zu 200 Euro pro Kilo. Wie gefährlich das Sammeln der Muscheln in der rauen Meeresbrandung ist, erlebt Judith Rakers am eigenen Leib an Galiciens Todesküste Costa da Morte.

En este vídeo te muestro nuestra excursión por la Costa da Morte (Costa de la muerte) en Galicia, España. Es conocida con este nombre por el peligro de sus mares y los numerosos naufragios. Nuestro recorrido comenzó en Ponte Maceira. Paseamos alrededor de su puente, su pequeña cascada (Río Tambre) y sus casas tradicionales. La siguiente parada fue el pueblo costero de Muros; conocido por su plaza, una pequeña iglesia y su pintoresco puerto. Después, pasamos por la Cascada de Ézaro. Tiene un camino con miradores, rutas de senderismo y posibilidad de alquilar canoas. Desde allí fuimos a Fisterra (Finisterre) y visitamos el pueblo y su faro. El faro simboliza el Km 0 del camino de Santiago y en la Edad Media era conocido como el fin del mundo, el punto más occidental de Europa continental. In this video I'll show you our trip to Costa da Morte (Galicia, Spain). It is named after it's dangerous sea and various shipwrecks. The first stop was Ponte Maceira, after that we visited the coastal town of Muros and Cascada de Ézaro (a beautifull waterfall). We then visited the town and lighthouse of Fisterra (Finisterre). The lighthouse is the Km 0 of the Camino de Santiago and it was considered the end of the world in the Middle Ages, as they thpught it was the westernmost point of Europe. This trip ends in Muxía and the Church Santuario de la Virgen de la Barca, the protector of sailors. This trip was a tour by @GetYourGuide. What to visit and do in the area. A short recap of our walk on the Camino Finisterre-Muxía from Santiago de Compostela, an extension of the Camino de Santiago that takes pilgrims to Cape Finisterre and/or Cape Muxía. In the old times, Cape Finisterre was considered to be the end of the known world. Nowadays it's a beautiful route that takes pilgrims to the wild coast of Northern Spain and offers fantastic scenery. The weather in this part of the country is very unpredictable and can surprise you anytime.

This is part 11 (AKA the Epilogue) of our Camino Norte journey as we go beyond Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra and Muxía. We hiked 117.5 km from Santiago de Compostela to Fisterre and Muxía in 5 days.
This is our first time walking the Camino Del Norte. We hiked the Camino del Norte during June, July, and August of 2019, finishing the route in 46 days (including Finisterre and Muxia). In 2017, we walked the Camino Frances from Saint Jean Pied du Port to Santiago de Compostela. We packed ultralight bags for both journeys.
