Welcome to Sant Salvador and let's explore its wonderful places together. Sanctuari of Sant Salvador (Catalan; Eremita de San Salvador is located on the Puig de Sant Salvador mountain at an altitude of 509 meters near the town of Felanitx in the southeast of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. The Sanctuary de Sant Salvador is a monastery from the middle of the 14th century. It was built during the Black death when the altitude was believed to prevent disease. Located in the village of Felanitx at the top of Puig de Salvador, 509 meters above sea level. The views are magnificent. The monastery was completely restored in the 18th century. Inside the church there is a Gothic altarpiece and distinctive religious images and nativity scene.
The Christ the King monument was inaugurated in 1934. The seven-meter copper statue stands on a 37-meter platform. The 14-meter Picot Cross is another amazing vantage point that is a fifteen-minute walk away. From here you can see the vast plains, the southeast coast, Santueri Castle and, on a good day, the island of Cabrera. Since 2005, races up the hill (Pujada Sant Salvador) have been held here, a rally race up the hill with a length of 4.2 kilometers. The first uphill race took place in 1981.

Sunday is market day in Felanitx so it was a great opportunity to head to the east of the island.
Lots of stalls sprawling through the town.
An interesting church but there was a service so we did not enter.
A charity stall in a square was collecting to help the people of the Ukraine.

Spectacular views and a impressive monument were worth the twisting journey up the mountain

Playa Cala Mitjana de Felanitx
Zum Strandprofil:
Inmitten eines Waldes liegt der idyllische kleine Strand Cala Mitjana. Er ist nicht ganz einfach zu erreichen. Ab dem Parkplatz der Nachbarbucht Cala Sa Nau beginnt eine gut zwei Kilometer lange Wanderung. Man geht zuerst ein Stückchen den Weg zurück und folgt dann der Beschilderung. Über einen steinigen, holprigen Serpentinenweg geht es die Küste entlang - dabei sollte man vorsichtig sein, nicht zu stürzen. Aber der Weg lohnt sich: In einer traumhaften, grünen Kulisse findet man einen wenig besuchten Sandstrand. Die Felswände und der Pininwald schützen vor dem Wind. Und in dem kristallklaren, blauen Wasser kann man herrlich tauchen oder schnorcheln.

Felanitx ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, wenn man die Insel ein wenig erkunden möchte. Die umliegenden Gemeinden und Städte bieten nicht nur jede Menge Abwechslung, sondern überzeugen auch mit einem abwechslungsreichen Programm. Die Region Migjorn, in der die Kleinstadt eingebettet ist, beheimatet noch folgende Gemeinden: Campos, Llucmajor, Santanyi und Ses Salines. Angrenzende Inselregionen sind Llevant im Nordosten, Plà de Mallorca im Norden und die Inselhauptstadt Palma im Nordwesten – demnach der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um die ganze Vielfalt der Insel in ihren unterschiedlichen Facetten erleben zu können.

Das ehemalige Kloster Santuari De Sant Salvador befindet sich auf dem über 500 Meter hohen Berg Puig De Sant Salvador in der Nähe der Stadt Felanitx auf Mallorca.
Direkt nebenan befindet sich der 477 Meter hohe Puig des Milá mit seinem Steinkreuz Creu des Picot.

Things to do in Mallorca: Hams Caves, Porto Cristo: Two of the most popular Mallorca days out or top Mallorca attractions on the east coast of the island are the cave formations you can visit in Porto Cristo. The two main ones are the Caves of Hams and the Caves of Drach. We visited the Caves of Hams (Cuervas Hams).
The Caves of Ham were discovered in 1905 and an unusual element to Mallorca's landscape. It's also a great place to get underground in Majorca and see these amazing cave formations and learn about the history surrounding them. A trip to the Caves of Hams re also a great escape from the midday sun.

Sant Elm is a small charming town on the south-west coast of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain. It is a picturesque fishing village, only a short drive from Andratx and Port D'Andratx.
Sant Elm has a wide variety of nature walks to explore and is the monastery nature park of La Trapa is very close by. Beautiful hiking route and impressive scenery. You are looking down from the hills. You can see the traditional terrace fields and some old houses which are under construction.
