Merhaba.
Bugün, Orta Karadeniz serimize Ordu ilinin aykırı ilçesi Fatsa’dayız.
Keyifli seyirler…
Fatsa, doğusunda Perşembe, batısında Ünye, güneyinde Korgan, Çamaş, Çatalpınar ve Kumru İlçeleri, kuzeyinde ise Karadeniz’in yer aldığı tipik bir Karadeniz ilçesidir.
Fatsa’nın yüzölçümü 357 km2, 2021 yılı nüfusu ise 124.500’dür.
MÖ 400 yılında Fatsa ve çevresinde Kolhlar, Driller, Halipler, Mosinikler ve Tibarenler gibi Yunan asıllı olmayan yerli kabileler yaşamıştır.
MÖ 675 yılından itibaren sırası ile bir Türk kavmi olan Kimmerler, ardından MÖ 547 yılında Persler, MÖ 334 yılında Makedonyalı imparator Büyük İskender, komutanları ise MÖ 312 - 208 yılları arasında Fatsa ve çevresine hakim olmuştur.
Fatsa'da ilk çağ dönemlerinden en dikkat çekeni ise Pontus Krallığı devridir. Pontus Krallığı hakimiyeti dönemi, Side olarak anılan yörenin daha da güçlenmesine neden olmuştur.
Fatsa'nın tarih sahnesinde önemli bir yer alması MS 1. yüzyıl'da başlamıştır. Mitridatın ölümünden sonra II. Farnak, MÖ 65-42 yılları arasında Roma'ya bağlı bir krallık olan Pontus Krallığı'nın başına geçmiştir. II.Farnak, bugünkü Fatsa'nın bulunduğu yerde hükümdarlığını sürdürürken, Roma'nın iç karışıklıklarından faydalanarak hem bağımsızlığını kazanmak hem de idaresini genişletmek için çalışmış fakat başarılı olamamıştır. II. Farnak kızı Fanizan adına bir şato inşa ettirmiştir. Bu şatodan dolayı kasabaya Fanizan adı verilmiştir. Sonraki yüzyıllarda Fanise, Phadsane, Pytane ve Faça adları ile anılan kasaba son olarak Fatsa adını almıştır.
MS 391 yılından itibaren Anadolu'ya giren Peçenek ve Kuman Türkleri akınları sonucu Fatsa'ya giriş yapmıştır.
13. ve 14. yüzyıllarda, kıyı kesiminde Ceneviz kolonilerinin etkileri görülmekteydi. Sahildeki tabya, Cenevizliler tarafından depo olarak kullanılmıştır. Bu zaman dilimi içerisinde Fatsa, Karadeniz'in önemli ticaret merkezlerinden biri olmuştur. Cenevizlilerin Karadeniz hakimiyetleri, II. Mehmet döneminde sona erdiği için Fatsa'yı da bu dönem içerisinde terk etmişlerdir.
19. yüzyılın son çeyreğinde Kafkas muhacirleri, Rusya'nın baskısıyla Karadeniz Bölgesi'ne, ağırlıklı olarak Trabzon Vilayeti'ne göç etmiştir. Yapılan araştırmalarda Çerkes göçmenlerinin 1864 yılında Canik sancağına kayıt edildiği tespit edilmiştir. İskan edilen Çerkes gruplarının bir kısmı Fatsa'ya yerleştirilmiş,
Abaza göçmenlerinin bir bölümü Fatsa'ya bağlı Çokdeğirmen ve Nefs-i Meydan Abaza köylerine yerleştirilmişlerdir. 1878 yılından sonra hızla artan göçmen kitlesi 1880 ve 1887 tarihlerinde Fatsa'ya yerleştirilmiştir.
Fatsa'nın 180 bin dönümlük arazisi tarladır.
Başlıca yetiştirilen ürünler; mısır, fındık, çavdar, pirinç, fasulye, patates, kivi, bakladır.
Mısır, fındıkçılığın ortaya çıkmasıyla beraber, Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarından itibaren değerini kaybetmeye başlamıştır.
Fındık bölgenin en önemli tarım ürünüdür. 21.663 hektarlık arazide halkın %80'i fındık tarımı ile geçimini sağlamaktadır. Dünyada fındığın en çok üretimi yapıldığı bölge Fatsa'dır. Fındık üretimi, tarım sektörü içinde önemli bir yere sahip olmasının ötesinde fındığa bağlı sanayi kollarının da gelişmesini sağladığından önemli ölçüde istihdam yaratmakta ve kent ekonomisi içinde ciddi bir pay teşkil etmektedir.
20 hektarlık arazide patates ekimi yapılmakta olup son yıllarda kivi yetiştiriciliği de hızla artmaktadır.
Sahil kısmı bataklık olan Fatsa'da pirinç üretimi de yaygındır. 1901 tarihli Trabzon Vilayet Salnamesine göre pirincin en fazla yetiştiği yerler Terme ve Fatsa'dır. Fakat Fatsa’da bataklıkların kurutulmaya başlanmasıyla Pirinç üretimi süresiz olarak askıya alınmıştır.
İlçede arıcılık da, bölge ve ülke ekonomisi açısından önemli bir potansiyel teşkil etmektedir. İlçe genelinde 19331 adet arı kovanından 483 ton bal üretilmektedir.
Balıkçılık, ilçenin 2. önemli geçim kaynağıdır. 4 adet üretim tesisinde alabalık üretimi yapılmakta olup, üretilen balık ilçede oldukça yüksek seviyede tüketilmektedir.
Fatsa'da 11 ilköğretim okulu, 1 özel ilköğretim okulu, 10 ortaöğretim okulu bulunmaktadır. 2006'da kurulan Ordu Üniversitesi'ne bağlı Fatsa Deniz Bilimleri Fakültesi ve Fatsa Meslek Yüksekokulu bu ilçede bulunmaktadır.
Fatsa'da geleneksel olarak her yıl Mayıs ayının 20'sine denk gelen günde mayıs yedisi tabir edilen bir etkinlik vardır. Günümüzde hâlen devam eden bu etkinlikte köylerde yaşayan her yaştan insanlar o gün Fatsa’ya gelerek deniz kenarına giderler ve dizlerine kadar suya girerek dilek tutarlar. Tutulan dileğin kabul olması için deniz dalgasında en az 7 dalga kendilerine gelinceye kadar beklemeleri gerekir. 7 dalgadan geçmek olarak tabir edilen bu gelenek günümüzde devam etmektedir.
Fatsa Adası, Fatsa sahiline 2,4 km uzaklıkta olup, yaklaşık bir dönüm büyüklüğündedir. Eski çağlarda Fatsa’dan adaya karayolu bulunduğu ve adanın altında bir yer altı şehrinin olduğu söylenmektedir.
Gaga Gölü, Fatsa ilçesinin 10 km güneydoğusundadır. 15 – 20 bin m2’ik bir alanı bulunmaktadır. Çevresi ağaçlar ve fındık bahçeleriyle kapalıdır.

About Ordu:
Ordu (formerly Kotyora) is located on the southern coast of the Black Sea in Turkey and has about 224,100 inhabitants.
This center of hazelnut cultivation was once even an active advertising medium for Nutella. But compared to the neighboring towns, the history and sights seem rather unspectacular at first glance. Ordu is a stop for explorers...
Ordu, too, was probably once founded in the 7th century by Milesian settlers at the foot of the Boztepe. The original name was Kotyora. In the 14th century the center of the village was moved 5 km, but this lasted only four centuries. After that the center of the village was moved to the Boztepe again. Since then Ordu developed splendidly thanks to the hazelnut cultivation.
