Visiting the Fallowfield Loop Line with a Tram Evening 17th February 2020
This video focus on two things, The Fallowfield Loop Line and Manchester Metrolink Trams. It was the day after Storm Dennis and didn't really fancy visiting Railway Stations just in case there was problems like aftermath of Storm damange, so instead, decided to walk along the former Fallowfield Loop Line.
Video starts at a Bus stop catching the 826 to Stafford, which shows areas which were flooded, but once at Stafford Railway Station, took the 1001 CrossCountry service to Manchester Piccadilly and then a Manchester Metrolink M5000 Tram to Deansgate-Castlefield to visit the former Manchester Central Station, next on the Loop Line was a Metrolink ride to Chorton Tram Stop since it was the first station on the line, it was named Chorton-cum-Hardy. After visiting the site of Chorton-cum-Hardy, it was a quick tram ride down the line to St. Wreburgh Road Tram Stop which was the site of Chorton-cum-Hardy Junction but this is where Simon started his journey on foot to Fairfield stopping at Wilbraham Road, Fallowfield, Levenshulme South and Hyde Road but sadly one of these Disused Station I couldn't get to!
Once at Fairfield, Simon took a Northern service to Gorton which was the western side of the Fallowfield Loop Line, the units were a Class 156 and Class 142 DMU... of course Simon rode on the Pacer!
After Gorton, Simon took a couple of Class 150 DMUs to Manchester Piccadilly and then ride on the Metrolink to St. Peter's Square and then into Monsall to film some trams before heading to Manchester Victoria to spend the night in a Travelodge.
Next week video will be a 'part 2' visiting all stations between Manchester Victoria and Todmorden.

Platt Fields Park 2022 | Parks in Manchester
Platt Fields Park was formally opened in 1910. One of Manchester's major outdoor event sites, the park has three dedicated show fields with a supported infrastructure for large scale national and small scale and local events. The grounds contain Platt Hall, home to Manchester's Costume Gallery, which is free and open to the public.
Located in Fallowfield, Platt Fields Park is easily accessible. The park has a public car park for visitors and is a 15 minute car journey from the city centre. The Park is also a 30 min bus journey away with buses running every 5 minutes. The bus stop is a minutes walk from the Park entrance. This park is end of the Curry Mile Rusholme on the Wilmslow Road.
The park is frequently visited by local students as well, because of its location near the Oxford Road and Fallowfield Campuses of the University of Manchester, Xaverian College and the Oxford Road/All Saints campus of the Manchester Metropolitan University

Reddish Vale & Fallowfield Loop - Trail Run
This is a more urban run than I'm usually used to around South Manchester. I head along the River Mersey to Reddish Vale and then return via the Fallowfield Loop before heading south through Withington and back into Didsbury.
I wasn't very impressed with the run to be honest...I much prefer the run from Didsbury along the River Mersey towards Chorlton which has a lot more green, open space to it. I filmed that route on my 3rd video on YouTube:
