This neighborhood is a 5-10 minute walk from the town square, 10-15 minutes from Via Envigado shopping center (modern mall just over 2 years old). Did you know that Medellín is safer than Philadelphia, USA?! Here is my tour guide for the best things to do in Medellín Colombia! I spent a week in Medellin and loved every minute of it. I did everything from a graffiti tour of Comuna 13 (Pablo Escobar territory), to taking the cable cars (Metrocable) - All the signs are in ENGLISH - Arvi park (Parque Arvi) and a day tour to El Retiro, Guatape, La Piedra del Piñol, taking public transportation (it's safer than NYC and definitely cleaner). I hope you enjoy this tour guide.

Medellin known for the Colombians as the city of the eternal Spring, where as soon as you arrive you can feel the warn welcome of the paisa people. I visited a few malls in Medellin and Envigado like I always do when I visit a new country and I notice the crazy amount of single ladies walking in the mall and how approachable they are. I want to take some time and share some on my experiences with you guys.
The weather is amazing , the food is fantastic and the city is super easy to get around, making it one of the most visited cities for nomads, expats, and tourist in general. something that you should not forget is the value of the money, here the dollar goes a long way.
During my visit I was able to spend time with my local friends and do many activities that I will be sharing with you guys in this series of videos.

In this video we are going to Explore Envigado Colombia 2021. This is part of my Gringo Colombia Travel 2021 -- Envigado Colombia is one of the larger cities in the Aburrá Valley (Valle de Aburrá) natural river basins. It is adjacent to the Capital of the Antioquia department - Medellin Colombia.
We will enter the valley via a taxi coming in from José María Córdova International Airport which is located in the city of Rionegro. Rionegro is 45 minutes for Envigado - 20 kilometers or 12 miles southeast. The remainder of the video we will walk the Barrio El Trianón of Envigado

Of All the Places in the World, What Are We Doing in Colombia?
What are we doing in Colombia? This is a pretty popular question we get from friends, family and readers (but said in a much nicer way) Our last update video was in November during our first trip to Medellín, Colombia.
We fell in love with this country, and we had to come back.
This country has a special place in our hearts, for so many reasons.
Now we've been living here for two months. We are residing in a co-living space in Envigado, a small city right beside Medellín.
What is not to love about this place? First of all, we are nestled in the Aburrá Valley- the central region of the Andes Mountains. We most of all love the people here, they are genuinely interested in having visitors visit their country, and they are incredibly friendly.
The big reason Troy and I are here is we are working on projects we had dreamed of doing before we left Canada and moved to our location independent life.
We have just completed our first marketing and video project for the travel industry for ViaColombia, a tour operator in Bogotà.
We love how it turned out!
We captured a lot of footage of different places in Colombia and got a taste for many places we want to go back.
We are currently working on some more videos for a tour operator in Medellín, highlighting some stories about many of the locals in the region as well as the change and transformation happening here.

As well, we continue to work on other projects online with clients in North America. Troy collaborates on some editing and video projects while I'm doing some marketing consulting work for a microbrewery here in Colombia, and marketing work for clients in North America.
We aren't just working we are having fun too.
We've had visitors! We're happy we've managed to convince friends to vacation here, or even try out working remotely. We have taken in many of the sites, explored new restaurants and bars in the process. So four of our friends have come for a visit in the last month.
You may ask how are our Spanish lessons going?
And we are both working on our Spanish. We did a month of classes, and we are attempting to practice every day (almost daily)
How long are we going to be here?
That is a great question. As long as possible! We want to make the time to see everything we possibly can to this beautiful country.
