EL PEÑON, MASSIVE ROCK CLIMBING IN GUATAPE, COLOMBIA ????????
Today we go on an adventure in Colombia to El Penon, the massive rock formation that juts out into the sky suddenly around El Penol and Guatape, Colombia. This massive stone rises 650 feet out of the flat ground of Guatape, Colombia, the Piedra de Penol or El Peñon de Guatape, which was once worshiped by the Tahamies Indians. At the top, you get the best view in the world from a rock. This mysterious rock formation wasn't traversed until 50 or so years ago, and when humans finally got to the top, they discovered a species of plant only found there and nowhere else on earth. Come with us and tour Guatape, El Penol, El Penon, and some of the most interesting places in all of Colombia. If you're looking for something to do around Medellin, then take a day trip here. OUR STORY
Hey! We're Olivia and Nathan ???????? A couple from California.
We met back in 2014 in Monterey, California. I (Olivia) was a senior in college & Nathan had recently moved back to the area after living in Italy.
After a few “deep life talks” (ones that were so foreign to me) and hearing about the lifestyle Nathan had been creating for himself for the last 6 years, I wanted to spend more time with him.
We started dating and I learned how he’d moved to Cambodia when he was 17, Germany when he was 18, Italy when he was 20, and was itching to travel again.
I was fascinated and wondered HOW THE HECK DID THIS GUY PAY FOR ALL OF THAT?
Nathan would work in California for 2 years, save every dollar he could, move abroad, find a job in that country, live there for 1-2 years and then do it all over again. Each time, he’d learn the language of that country, acquire new skills & make lifelong friends.
I was deeply inspired & wanted to travel with him. After 1 year of working our butts off and saving every dollar we could, we moved to Australia. We lived + worked there for 3 years (learned to speak perfect Australian lol) & created online jobs so we could continue traveling full-time.
We were traveling South America when covid hit, flew home and bought an RV to travel the US.
Down to earth, entertaining, and informative is our goal — we want you to feel like you’re experiencing the day with us.

Time to visit Medellin, Colombia!!
Did you know that Medellín is safer than Philadelphia, USA?! Here is my tour guide for the best things to do in Medellín Colombia! I spent a week in Medellin and loved every minute of it. I did everything from a graffiti tour of Comuna 13 (Pablo Escobar territory), to taking the cable cars (Metrocable) - All the signs are in ENGLISH - Arvi park (Parque Arvi) and a day tour to El Retiro, Guatape, La Piedra del Piñol, taking public transportation (it's safer than NYC and definitely cleaner). I hope you enjoy this tour guide.

Colombia, a country which many only know because of it’s violent past, has been on my list since I went to South America for my first long-term trip in 2012. 6 Years later and with 5 weeks to spend it was finally time to properly explore my country number 9 on the continent.
For the first part of the trip I’ll be traveling with my mate David to the historical city of Cartagena, some picturesque Carribean islands and to the city of Medellin where we get to learn about the violent past and the transformation of the country. After a few days in the capital Bogota I’ll be joined by my good friend Stefan to learn salsa and take on some outdoor adventures in Cali before heading up to Santa Marta where we checkout the most beautiful beaches, float down rivers and hike through the mountains.

Si estas en Medellin, lo mejor que puedas hacer es un tour completo hacia Guatapé!!!
Amigos Chulos, Hoy le compartimos como nos fué en nuestro Tour Completo a Guatapé saliendo desde Medellin y que incluye transporte, guia y comidas (desayuno y lunchh) ademas de paseo en Barco y salida optional a la Roca/Peñon (que claramente hicimos).
El Tour lo hicimos con MaxiTours ( y lo pudimos contractar directamente en el Lobby de nuestro Hotel.
La salida fue muy puntual y el recorrido hacia las montañas hermoso. Primera parada es para desayunar huevos, arepa y emepanadas, tomar un rico cafecito y empezar ahora si el tour.
El tour es muy completo y nuestra guia Nelson muy apasioanda en compartir las bellezas y la historia de la region.
Sin duda alguna si vas a Medellin no puedes perderte la oportunidad de conocer toda esta area. Puedes tambien irte por tu cuenta en camion o con transfer privado, pero honestamente sentimos que con un tour completo como esto sea la mejor opcion para disfrutar de Guatapé!!!

Se encuentra en Piquete Cué, el Paraguay profundo, Os voy a enseñar éste pintoresco castillo edificado sobre un risco, su historia y como llegar hasta él, es decir todo lo que necesitáis saber antes de venir.

Guatape is home to the famous rock, La Pierna, that offers spectacular 360-degree views of the town centre and the surroundings lake, Embalse El Peñol.

El Centro is a great place if you want to experience the real Medellín. There is just
so much to take in, from the sprawling office towers along Avenida Oriental to the small
shops dotting the alleys of El Hueco, you will find a lot of bustling activity throughout
the day.
There is a also a lot of historical and cultural history found in this sector of the city.
El Centro has both one of the largest chuches in the world, the oldest church in Medellín,
the tallest building in Medellín, sculptures from Colombia's most famous artist, and so much
more.
Prices in El Centro generally trend lower here. If you are looking for the cheapest
