INCREDIBLE COLLAPSE TRIGGERED BY GLACIER CALVING | South America, Chile
An incredibly large chunk of the Grey Glacier's ice-sheet breaks off and flips over in a spectacular way in Southern Patagonia, Chile. The ice-sheet of the Grey Glacier is currently declining due to increasing temperatures and changes in rainfall. It is part of the 'Southern Patagonian Ice Field', the world's 2nd largest contiguous extrapolar ice field and the largest freshwater reservoir in South America.
The Grey Glacier is famous for insane glacier wall collapses during the summer when large icebergs – often up to 100 feet in height – are breaking off the glacier and collapsing into the water of the 'Lago Grey'. In the right time of the year big blocks of ice break off the glacier and drop into the water. The waves created by such glacier calving events often splash dozens of meters through the air. The glacier itself is about 6 km (3.7 mi) wide and has an average height of over 30 m (100 ft) above the surface of the water.
Thankfully, no-one was injured as boats stay at a safe distance from the glacier (for a good reason).
Glacier calving, also known as ice calving, or iceberg calving, is the breaking of ice chunks from the edge of a glacier. The sudden release and breaking away of a mass of ice from a glacier or iceberg often causes large waves around the area and can result in a shooter which is a large chunk of the submerged portion of the iceberg surfacing above the water. The ice that breaks away can be classified as an iceberg, but may also be a growler, bergy bit, or a crevasse wall breakaway. The entry of the ice into the water causes large, and often hazardous waves. (Find out more here:

Aranjuez is situated in the northeast of Medellín, making it a vital part of the city's geography. Aranjuez's initial formation dates back to the early 19th century, evolving from spontaneous settlements in the 1950s, leading to a unique urban landscape. The community is intersected by several streams, including La Bermejala, La Máquina, and El Molino. Some of these have a history of floods, prompting ongoing hydraulic treatments by the Mi Río institute. The community predominantly falls into socioeconomic stratum 3 (medium-low), comprising 61.4% of households. Stratum 2 (low) follows at 28.7%, and stratum 1 (low-low) accounts for 9.9%, characterizing the economic conditions of the entire commune. Aranjuez is divided into 14 neighborhoods and 3 institutional areas. San Pedro, the oldest, dates back to 1870-1906, while Berlín, the current Parque principal de Aranjuez, was originally referred to as San Nicolás de Tolentino.

I spent the evening with my friend Bryggeth exploring Cartegena buying items of value and items I did not need. This was a fun and great challenge, understanding the value of what your money can do for you in another country. If I may note, I actually spent more than the challenge, I was approached by two women at the market during the filming, I felt compelled to help out with my own money. It didn't hurt to help out in fact it felt really good to know they ate that night over a few dollars in equivalence, whats a couple dollars to me if Im in the position to help out?

We fly in, give you a tour of our Airbnb, walk around the city of Bogota...We decide it's time for our first Colombian street food tour (and drink tour) in Colombia, and we figure Bogota is one of the best places to do it. We try over 10 street foods and interesting Colombian drinks as we walk around the streets of Bogota and get to know this new country, the first on our list in South America. Bogota is a fascinating city, and we loved how free and welcoming it was, allowing us to drink and eat all over the streets. The food is cheap, it's good, and the drinks are even better if I do say so myself. Come and watch, and try some Colombian street food with us.
