I Was Trafficked Through The World's Deadliest Jungle

???????? PART TWO: The Darien Gap is known as the world's most dangerous jungle. I had heard of the Darien many years ago through National Geographic and it had both fascinated and intimidated me. I knew one day I would have to visit...

When the word Darien started appearing in the news in recent years by way of the migrant crises I decided that now was the time to explore it for myself. And so myself and my good friend @TimmyKarter headed north from Medellin in search of a way across the infamous jungle, avoiding cartel and bandits, injury and tropical diseases, on an adventure with migrants from all over the world where national laws don't apply. Only the laws of the jungle.

TRIP REPORT | Is Jet2 the Best UK airline? | Birmingham to Santorini | Jet2 Boeing 737

Jet2 Trip Report flying from Birmingham to Santorini, in Greece, onboard one of the Jet2 Boeing 737 (on the Jet2Holidays livery) on a nice late-summer morning.

An amazing and comfortable trip with Jet from Birmingham to Santorini onboard one of the Jet2 Boeing 737. With a super-nice crew (as always), original cabin, and great onboard service, Jet2 is among the top holiday airlines in Europe (if not on the Top1).

Santorini is, said by many, among the most beautiful Greek Islands. With the crater of the volcano just in the middle (covered by the sea) the views of the cliffs and the island, in general, were amazing during the approach.

Have you ever flown with Jet2? Maybe traveled with Jet2Holidays? How was the experience? Have you ever been to Santorini? Maybe another Greek island?
Lots of things to talk about! Read you in the comments section!

Places to see in ( Hucknall - UK )

Places to see in ( Hucknall - UK )

Hucknall, formerly known as Hucknall Torkard, is a town in Nottinghamshire, England, in the district of Ashfield. The town was historically a centre for framework knitting and then for mining, but is now a focus for other industries as well as providing housing for workers in Nottingham.

The town is notable as the site where Rolls-Royce made the first demonstration of a vertical take-off plane. It is also the final resting place of Lord Byron and his estranged daughter, the mathematician and pioneer computer programmer Ada Lovelace.

Hucknall is 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Nottingham on the west bank of the Leen Valley, on land which rises from the Trent Valley in the south to the hills of the county north of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The Whyburn or 'Town Brook' flows through the town centre, and Farleys Brook marks its southern boundary.

The town’s highest point is Long Hill, (although Beauvale estate has a higher elevation and is situated at the base of Leivers Hill, commonly mistaken for Misk Hill) at 460 ft (140 m) above sea-level, with views over the city and Trent Valley, which descends to between 22 and 24 metres AOD, flowing just beyond most of the city centre.

The town is surrounded by farmland or parkland. To the north-west lie Misk Hills and Annesley. To the north-east town are the villages of Linby and Papplewick beyond these two is Newstead Abbey and its grounds, once the residence of Lord Byron. To the west lies Eastwood, birthplace of D. H. Lawrence, and the inspiration for many of his novels. To the east of the town is Bestwood Country Park.

The contiguous settlements of Butler's Hill and Westville often appear as distinct entities on maps, but are generally regarded as part of Hucknall, and are part of its historic and present-day Church of England parish, although the town itself has no civil parish council, however the identity is reinforced by being part of the post town and by being shared wards of Hucknall.

Hucknall was once a thriving market town. Its focal point is the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene, next to the town’s market square. The church was built by the Anglo-Saxons and completed after the Norman Conquest, though much of it has been restored during the Victorian era. The medieval church consisted only of a chancel, nave, north aisle and tower but it was considerably enlarged in the Victorian period. In 1872 the south aisle was added and in 1887 the unusually long transepts, while the rest of the building apart from the tower was thoroughly restored.

The town is the northern terminus for the Nottingham Express Transit tram system as well as sharing a station on the Robin Hood Line. There is also a stop at Butler's Hill/Broomhill. The town used to be on the A611 but this has now bypassed the town to the west with a single-carriageway road with roundabouts, with access to junction 27 of the M1, some 3 miles away. The tram line was built from 2002–2004 and currently runs from Hucknall to the Station Street terminus next to Nottingham railway station.

( Hucknall - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Hucknall . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Hucknall - UK

A Ride on the Tyne & Wear Metro to East Boldon, UK - 22nd August, 2013

It's been a long while since my last video upload, and I have quite a backlog, going to August 2013, which I'm now attempting to get through.

This is a short film shot on the Tyne & Wear Metro, on a 'Green Line' ride to East Boldon. I'm not entirely sure where the footage begins, but it includes the Metro crossing over and then riding on the main rail line.

The video gives a driver's eye view perspective as it travels along the line. It is August and a sunny day, much of the footage features browned crops and agricultural land, before the train arrives at East Boldon. The departure of the Metro train is also featured.

Read about the Tyne & Wear Metro here: .

Half an Hour at East Boldon - Light Rail Meets Heavy Rail

Video created by Northumberland Snapper:

Please remember to subscribe if you like our videos.

Filmed on 21st January 2023.

Regular viewers might have noticed that I have been publishing a new video every four days (I really need a better system!) so this is a short bonus today if you like.

Tyne and Wear Metro trains share the Network Rail Durham Coast Line between Pelaw and Sunderland. This short video shows half an hour of Metro and heavy rail services at East Boldon Station. The station is managed by Northern Trains and the operator's trains call infrequently during the day. Tyne and Wear Metro services running between Newcastle and Sunderland are much more frequent, with a train in each direction every 10 minutes or so on weekdays.

The square-shaped 40-year-old Metrocars are energised by the 1.5 kV (DC) overhead lines, which are visible in the video. The current fleet of 87 Metrocars, which always operate in pairs, is due for replacement by the end of 2024. 46 Stadler class 555 METRO electric multiple units, which can run on either 1.5 kV (DC) or 25 kV (AC), have been purchased as a replacement. The first of these METRO units have arrived in the UK and should be undergoing testing on the Tyne and Wear Metro network within the next couple of months. The Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive (Nexus), has future plans to upgrade the overheads to the National Rail standard 25 kV (AC).

We also see a severely delayed Northern Trains class 158 Express Sprinter working the route between Whitby and Newcastle and a couple of LNER class 800 Azuma bi-mode units working off the beaten track owing to engineering work on the East Coast Main Line.

Footage was captured using a Panasonic HC-VX1; fitted with a Rode VideoMic Go;

Bolton Castle & Village Walk - Yorkshire Dale's National Park - 4K #village

If you enjoy this relaxing walk, please leave a comment..always interested in what you think of these walks and tours! Bolton Castle is a 14th-century castle located in Wensleydale, Yorkshire Dale's, England. The nearby village of Castle Bolton takes its name from the castle. The castle is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The castle was built between 1378 and 1399 by Richard, 1st Baron Scrope of Bolton, and is an example of a quadrangular castle. The licence to build it was granted in July 1379 and a contract with the mason John Lewyn was made in September 1378. Construction was reputed to cost 18,000 Marks. The 16th-century writer John Leland described 'An Astronomical Clock' in the courtyard and how smoke was conveyed from the hearth in the hall through tunnels. Bolton Castle was described by Sir Francis Knollys as having 'The highest walls of any house he had seen'.

Lumo 803004 walkthrough 21/10/2022

Before departing Kings Cross for Bradford on Friday 21st October, I managed to do a walkthrough of 803004 before it departed Kings Cross as 1S93 to Edinburgh. Calling at: Newcastle, Morpeth and Edinburgh. I did a walkthrough of this service because when you travel with Lumo, you're randomly allocated a seat based on your preferences, even if it's a short 15 minute hop between Morpeth and Newcastle. When I travelled on this service on 22nd June, I was allocated a seat with a wall on 1S93 while I was allocated a better seat for 1E86! Each Lumo Class 803 also has 4 bathrooms onboard including 2 accessible bathrooms at the front and rear carriages of the train.

Rare: GB Railfreight's 66754 Northampton Saints on the 6X43 Car Train

Video created by Northumberland Snapper:

Please remember to subscribe if you like our videos.

Filmed on 23rd February 2023.

A rare movement caught on camera today, with the 6X43 Dagenham Dock to Garston Car Terminal car train passing through Stafford. Up until a couple of weeks ago Direct Rail Services operated these trains, so this is one of the first runs - if not the first run (as someone suggested to me) - with GB Railfreight back in the chair.

GB Railfreight's 66754 Northampton Saints was in charge of the train today. It made a 20 minute stop in the Stafford Up/Down Goods Siding for pathing reasons.

I am so chuffed to have caught this movement, as you never see car trains in my normal stomping ground north of Leeds.

Footage was captured using a Panasonic HC-VX1; fitted with a Rode VideoMic Go;

Souter Lighthouse and Whitburn Coastal Park BY DRONE. (4K)

Enjoy a coastal walk around the Souter Lighthouse, Whitburn Coastal Park and Lizard Point on the South Shields coast. The park and lighthouse are located just to the south of South Shields at the village of Marsden. You can park at the Souter Lighthouse car park off the A183 at Marsden Quarry to start your walk. Alternatively follow the traffic free cycle and walking path along National Cycle Route 1 from South Shields to the site. It's a nice trail passing Frenchman's Bay, Marsden Bay and the Leas. The park is also just a few miles north of Sunderland and can be reached by walking or cycling along the same National route.
This route starts at the lighthouse car park and heads to the coastal viewpoint at Lizard Point. You then head west along the coast to Marsden Cliff and the Leas. Here you will find two and a half miles of magnesian limestone cliffs, wave-cut foreshore and coastal grassland. It's a fine cliff top walk with great views along the coast.
After exploring the Leas the route turns round and returns to Whitburn Coastal Park. The park is a nature reserve with trees, a bird observatory, viewing screens and wetland habitats. There's also a new National Trust wildlife garden with ponds, wildflowers, trees, berry bearing shrubs, a bog garden and hibernation areas.
The reserve is great for wildlife watching with cormorants, shags, kittiwakes, fulmar and herring gulls.
At the end of your walk you can enjoy refreshments at the National Trust cafe.
The long distance Great North Forest Heritage Trail runs through Marsden so you can pick this up to extend your walk. It will take you inland towards Cleadon Park and Boldon.
You could also head south along the traffic free cycle path to Whitburn Bay and Sunderland.
Souter Lighthouse and Whitburn Coastal Park Postcode SR6 7NH
