IZMIR, TURKEY | 6 Things you MUST do in & around Izmir

Izmir Turkey offers a mix of cultural, historical and archeological sites. Thus, Izmir is a great place to visit if you want to immerse yourself in Turkish culture and enjoy the unique local cuisine. In this video, we break down the best things to do in and around Izmir, Turkey.

Best Things to Do in Izmir, Turkey:

6. Explore Konak Square
Konak is Izmir’s core historic area, located right next to the water. It’s known for its busy square full of pigeons. But you can also find Izmir’s iconic landmark here, the Clock Tower.

5. Discover Ancient Izmir “Smyrna”
Just like so many other cities in Turkey, modern-day Izmir has an ancient past. Known as Smyrna in the past, it was founded by the Greeks, taken over by the Romans and rebuilt by Alexander the Great before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century.

4. Shop & Eat in Alsancak
The bustling neighbourhood of Alsancak is located in the heart of the city. It’s the center of culture and entertainment, thus the ideal place to indulge yourself in the local Turkish culture.

3. Day or Multi-Day Trip to Pamukkale
The 3rd best thing to do in and around Izmir is to go on a one day or multi-day trip to Pamukkale. This magical destination is located about 230 kilometers or 143 miles from Izmir. It can easily be reached within a day or two by bus, tour bus, train, or rental car. The limestone pools are of course a unique and beautiful sight for pictures, but there’s so much more than that at Pamukkale. In fact there’s an entire ancient city behind the Thermal Pools of Pamukkale.

2. Visit the Kemeralti Bazaar
The second best thing to do in Izmir is to visit the local Kemeralti Bazaar. This is one of the liveliest and oldest parts of the city and lies right besides Konak Square.

1. Day Trip to Ephesus
The best thing to do in Izmir is to go on a day-trip to Ephesus. Ephesus is our favorite ancient ruin in all of Turkey. The ruins are located about 80kms or 50miles from Izmir, near the city of Selçuk. You can easily get there by train, bus, or car and combine it with a visit to the House of Virgin Mary, a sacred place. Ephesus was an ancient port city and once considered the most important Greek city and the most important trading center in the Mediterranean region.

ISTANBUL TURKEY: TOP 21 UNMISSABLE Things To Do (MUST Watch Before Visiting!!!)

Istanbul Turkey: Top 21 Unmissable Things to do (Must watch before visiting!!!)

In this video, I share with you the top 21 things to do when in Istanbul Turkey. This is as close one can get to a full travel guide when in Istanbul, Turkey for at least one week.

Istanbul is a city that has so much to offer and if it is visited properly, it is unforgettable.

I begin this video by sharing my visit to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. The first time I walked on Istiklal Street was quite memorable for me as I was impressed by how much there is to see in terms of shops, particularly food places.

After walking this street, the Galata Tower will appear and it is an absolute must-see if you are in Istanbul because of the fact that it is among the first landmarks you'll see when watching any video or viewing any photos of Istanbul. It is 1,000 years old and the views from above are spectacular.

Another great place I found was Balat. This is a special neighborhood where you can see colorful houses. It's just a nice spectacle and the area is surrounded by trendy cafes and restaurants.

When in Balat, I highly recommend you go and visit the tomb of the legendary Yavuz Sultan Selim's (Selim I) tomb and mosque. Sultan Selim I was the 9th Sultan (King) of the Glorious Ottoman Empire and the First among the Ottoman Sultans who became the Caliph of the entire Muslim world in the early part of the 16th Century. His Mosque is exquisitely designed and the views from up there are wonderful as the entire complex is built upon a hill.

Now if you are in Istanbul for only 3 days, it may be a good idea to stay in Fatih District because you can easily access the Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, Sultan Ahmet/Blue Mosque, Topkapi Museum and the Byzantine Hippodrome as these are all within walking distance.

I highly recommend spending time at the Topkapi Palace Museum as it was used by the earlier Sultans of the Ottoman Empire when they moved to Istanbul after the Conquest of Constantinople in 1453. You can visit this palace and see incredible exhibits, rooms, and structures. The Topkapi Harem requires an additional ticket but it's well worth buying

Another good palace to visit is the Dolmabahce Palace, which was built around 400 years after Topkapi Palace and is another incredible palace as well as a museum to view.

Eyup Sultan's tomb and Cami is a must-see place because the tomb is occupied by the blessed companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sayyidina Ayub al Ansari رضي الله عنه

The mosque of Eyup Sultan رضي الله عنه is immensely impressive and you can easily use the cable cars near to the tomb to get up to Pierre Loti Hill to get great views from above.

Rumeli Fortress is also an interesting place to visit because it was built a year before the Ottomans took Constantinople in 1453 and this fortress played a key role in achieving victory.

The Aya Sofia is also in the Fatih District and it's one of the greatest houses of worship and mosque you'll ever visit. This house of worship was first built by Prophet Suleiman/Soloman عليه السلام

I highly recommend everyone to visit the blessed tombs and mosques of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmed the Conqueror) as these are very significant kings among the 36 Sultans from the Ottomans.

Also, to learn more about the Ottomans, do take a look at this channel: @RoyalOttomanSociety

I also share a couple of cafes and a restaurant in this video as Turkish food is renowned around the world.

Измир - 1 день;
Чешме - 1 день;
Алачаты - 3 дня.

Тем более, что в ближайшее время будут новые выпуски.

LEVEL 9999 STREET FOOD IN GAZIANTEP TURKEY!!! ???????? Next Level Meat Soup, Yogurt Kebab & Bakhlava!

Gaziantep is a world-class place for food and is known as the food capital of Turkey. We visited Yesemek restaurant which is highly rated on Trip Advisor, and had a variety of local Gaziantep dishes including Beyran (a spicy Turkish meat soup) and kibbeh (içli kofte). We had Ottoman coffee in a caravansary and carrot baklava in Tahmis Kahvesi. We also tried katmer which is a traditional Gaziantep dessert made with pistachio and filo pastry, as well as delicious Ali Nazik kebab. Subscribe to our channel to watch our second part of the Gaziantep trip (also known as Antep by the locals) where we visited the famous Gaziantep castles.

Turkey beaches best | Iztuzu, Cleopatra, Kaputash, Patara, Ilika, Konyaalti, Blue Lagoon | 4k video

Turkey beaches best. There are several types of beaches in Turkey: pebble, sandy and white sand. There are many beautiful beaches that you can't help but fall in love with! All this allows the traveler to get the most complete rest in a great location. Enjoy magnificent views and superb landscapes. Turkey is an amazing multifaceted country that amazes everyone with its beauty.

???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? - Positives, Complaints, and Tips

Istanbul Türkiye: We are looking for the best city in Turkey to make a home base for ourselves. Does Istanbul hit the mark? We will give a full review and explain what we think are the pros, cons, good, and bad things that we discovered in Istanbul. We'll also give some tips for visiting or living in Istanbul.
-----------------------------
???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????:
Here is some more information about prices and the cost of living in Istanbul as of Summer 2022. Remember that prices can change quickly here.

???????????? ????????????????
If you plan stay in Istanbul for a year or longer and plan to rent an apartment then you might want to check out the sahibinden website. We personally would be happy in a small 1 or 2 bedroom about 60 square meters (or 650 square feet). Right now (Summer 2022) these are renting for around 8500 TL or USD$575 per month, but prices vary greatly by neighborhood. We suggest adding another $100 for utilities, a little more in the winter. For food we generally eat only two meals a day and eat out a couple of times per week. Based on current food costs, we think $400 per month would be a good food budget for us in Istanbul. Our health insurance is US$250 per month, but health care is generally inexpensive here. Here is a budget we think we could live on in Istanbul (but everyone's lifestyle is different and it might be higher or lower for you):
$700 Rent and Utilities
$400 Food
$50 Transportation
$50 Activities and Entertainment
$100 Miscellaneous
$300 Health Insurance and Health Care
TOTAL: US$1600 Per Month

If you're a slow traveler and staying for a month then you'll probably rent an apartment in Istanbul through Airbnb. Prices for an Airbnb apartment can vary drastically based on the location and the time of year. It of course also depends on how fancy you want your apartment to be. An Airbnb in the Karaköy neighborhood where we stayed in Istanbul could be in the $1000-$1200 range outside the peak summer travel season. Here's a breakdown of how much we think it would cost us, based on our lifestyle, to stay in Antalya for one month:
$1100 Airbnb
$400 Food
$50 Transportation
$100 Activities and Entertainment
$50 Miscellaneous
$300 Health Insurance and Health Care
TOTAL: US$2000

???????????? ????????????????
We have been to Istanbul twice so far this year and stayed in two different hotels, both were family run, two-star hotels with very small but clean rooms. Both of these were just under US$40 per night. The hotels won't have a kitchen but included a good breakfast. If you want a nicer international chain hotel then it will cost considerably more. We generally eat two meals a day (no breakfast, a big lunch, and a snack for dinner). A meal at a restaurant in a tourist area could be about $7-8 each, less outside the tourist areas. Here is our actual average daily spending details for our time in Istanbul (note that this does not include any kind of health or travel insurance, our transportation to get to Antalya, or some donations that we made).
$39 Hotel
$15 Food
$3 Transportation
$3 Activities and Entertainment
$1 Miscellaneous
TOTAL: US$61 per day
